S~V~S wrote:New people to Atamai, DH, LoRab, INH & Eloh~ did you have any hostile lynches/councils over there? We had one no show, sig, and MP basically volunteered to go. So we have not seen any strife.
Both lynches, sorry tribals, were....interesting. But no, not hostile. I wouldn't say there was strife. But there was discussion.

Neither one was a clear choice.

The first was between Boom and Wilgly. It was close. Both did things in the thread that made people question if they had the best interest of the tribe in mind in different ways. What DH said was really what did it in for Boom.

The second, I was the other name that was brought up, when Wilgy was voted out. First because I was kind of harsh to Wilgy early on, because he hadn't been reading the thread, and I was having a bad day, and I admit that I was feeling frustrated and lashed out. Also, Elo and I had a miscommunication in BTSC, complicated by each of us being online at completely different times, other than about 20 minutes when we were both on. I'd love to have BTSC with Elo again to continue the conversation--although I know she's already booked for tonight. But maybe the next night?

But, other than that, and as far as I know it was only Elo's vote based on the misunderstanding and she voted before I got home last night and Wilgy because he had to vote, the tribe overall felt that Wilgy's behavior was more rogue and less team.

So, I wouldn't say strife. But the decisions weren't necessarily as easy as yours sounded, though.

If we win this challenge, what will everyones health and thirst levels be like? We might not actually need to fish/water at all, so we can rest if we need to.

I'd be full, and I have 14 energy so that would be a good choice for me.

I'm sick but I've been able to combat it so far with enough food/water from the tribe.

Eloh said she was sick, too, iirc. I was and so was Faraday. I believe Epi was healed yesterday.

I am at 16E, 8T and 13 H. And yeah. We also did a good job of supplying needs.

I'll be at 10, 10, and 9.

I'm happy to get water so everyone can stay hydrated. With 2 of us getting water, we all seemed to be staying hydrated when we were healthy. I can get water tonight and then rest the day after, assuming I get cured.

I can't remember if Elo and INH are sick or not. Just over half of our tribe had food poisoning yesterday. I'm guessing your tribe was the same. We think we gave it to the opposite tribe from the previous night poll.

The immunity challenges could really make a dent in your energy if you aren't careful, so you can do whatever you think is right but it might be safer to make sure your energy levels are always in the double digits.

Not much. If someone is sick I target them at night and they stop being sick. I also had the ability to boost someone's stats by 2 once in the game, but now that the Chef is in our tribe I can't do that.

"Water Under the Bridge”
"Drop your buffs"

DharmaHelpher was fuming. "You kiss your mother with that mouth, Probst?"

"I don't kiss and tell," smarmed Scotty Probst.

The tribes had switched, and for most, they were welcoming of their newcomers, like East and West Berlin after 1991. It was a new day, and tribes quickly became acclimated to each other. Everyone continued on as if they had always been a tribe of dysfunctional frienemies.

At camp, the tribe went about the daily routines.
SVS stoked the fire and kept it going. It sure was nice to have some warmth still.
INH and LoRab retrieved more water for the tribe, keeping the tribe well hydrated.
Using the shiny new fishing gear, Quin and DF got to work looking for some rare fish. Even though they didn't find too many exotic fish, the gear certainly helped catch more than they would have caught without it! Quin returned with 3 fish, and DF with 2.
Elo, feeling exhausted from the challenge yesterday, took a nap.
DharmaHelper went walking under the natural footbridge, and came back with a chicken! The chicken is a food source. If you leave the chicken alone, it will lay an egg every night starting tonight that will refill 1 random person's hunger by 1. Or, the first person to PM me in the night will eat the chicken to refill 3 food instantaneously, as long as the fire is burning. If you eat the chicken, it will go away.

"But when are they going to fight to the death?" Asked Little Suzie, 9, a viewer from the Minneapolis region.
"Go to bed, it's midnight!" said Suzie's overbearing mother.

Treemail just had a little " " face on it. The bastards. The tribe would learn that there would be no immunity challenge for either tribe, and both would have to go to Tribal Council.

“Not this shit again,” groaned INH.

"I'm so tired of tribal council. I'm tired of voting people out. Why can't we just sleep?" asked Elo.

The challenge today? Battleship, of sorts. Hiding items in the sand for the other team to find.
"Oh, like Candyland? I loved Candyland!" nudged DF.
"No. More like...Battleship. You know, the game Battleship?" corrected SVS
"Yay Candyland!" boomed DF.
"Sure...Candyland," sighed SVS.

The tribe decided the best strategy was to pick straws and go in an orderly fashion like a line at a deli counter.
The other tribe began spouting off numbers as if at a live auction, before settling into a groove.
It seemed to be going well for both tribes. On the other side of the beach, the Mamana tribe was down to Atamai's last hidden item- the pot. It was revealed that the pot contained an immunity idol. On both sides, teams uncovered their pots and immunity idols- Golden on team Mamana, and INH on team Atamai.

Atamai reigned victorious with 26 total guesses. A grand 8 less than Mamana's 34. It was relatively close, and both teams did well. Just...one team did better than the other.
Every player on Atamai is cured of any ailments and receives food & drink to refill 1 thirst and 2 hunger!
Mamana, I got nothing for you.

I will see you all at your own separate tribal council tonight, where you will vote off another player from your tribe.
As a reminder, Golden and INH are exempt from votes in tonight's tribal council.

It is now Night 4. You have 24 hours to vote someone out at Tribal Council. Night will end at Midnight, EST.

It's that time again. My Mamana brothers and sisters are familiar with what comes next, but you Atamai's are in for a treat. I like to mull over who it is we should vote for in the thread. I will offer my opinion first:

Firstly, I won't be voting for nor advocating a DH vote. I think I provided valuable aid in the challenge today. Not only did i hide our items, but I provided the quadrant strategy, found the oar, and provided a helpful visual aid to keep us on track. This is the sort of hustle, leadership, and competitive edge you can get used to with me over on this side of the island.

Now, I also won't be voting for SVS. Next to me and INH she was right there ready to go and kill this challenge. Not only that, but I gotta respect the Atamai leadership. I'm reaching across the aisle here, extending an olive branch.

Now that being said, I definitely won't be voting for LoRab or Eloh either. I made a vow to everyone on the Mamana beach that I would watch their backs, and I intend to honor that. Loyalty is the most important thing. I won't even entertain the possibility of maybe even considering thinking about voting for a former Mamana.

Which leaves us with Quin and DFaraday. Now, I dunno how you did things before we got here, but I'm fair enough to let you both get your two cents in. Honestly, I'm genuinely sad that despite crushing this challenge, our first as a new and badass tribe, we have to say goodbye to someone. But we do, so we will. The only question is, is it Quin or is it DFaraday.

Both of 'em have merit, and both have drawbacks. I think the best way to begin is to have our Atamai folks recount the merits of both our friends.

I made no comments on your contributions, I wanted to let you have the floor before I did that. But you can't argue that what I said about SVS, INH, and myself taking charge of the challenge wasn't true.

It's possible you're right, and you do put strategies forward, and you do have the tribes best interest at heart. I'm a newcomer here, so I'd need to see that for myself or let you make your case.

While I have your attention, something's been nagging at me about the first challenge. From Scotty's write up, it sounded like DFaraday cost you guys the challenge. Scotty wrote that he "fell asleep" and that "the gap [left after the puzzle] was too much to make up."

So my question is, was that a 1-to-1 translation of what went down? And if so, why did you not, as a tribe, vote for DFaraday?

Originally I thought it must have meant DF signed up to solve the puzzle and let the clock run dry without solving it, But from what I'm able to gather now, it seems like he just took an exorbitantly long amount of time solving it.

I might be inclined to vote for you. Why weren't you helping around camp today? I think you were being sneaky, and were looking for an idol. I think that enough shows that even while you and the rest of the tribe were sick you were more interested in your own self-preservation than helping at camp.

I think after putting together the winning strategy to give us food and water via reward, busting ass during the challenge, being the first person to find an item, I earned a nice stroll through camp, don't you?

I may not have gone fishing, or gone to get water, but my performance in the challenge provided us with both. And now we have eggs.

Is there anyone else you've got an eye on?

Got a problem with this too. Half the stuff you presented as the 'winning strategy' was stuff I'd already directed the tribe to in my goodnight post. You alone didn't win us the reward, in fact I think you screwed up more than anybody else by putting two of our biggest blocks together. That could have gone horribly wrong.

Finding the first item was a matter of probability. It doesn't earn you anything in my book.

Are you suggesting that because you found eggs you were valuable to the tribe? Unless you knew that by going there you'd find a chicken, you didn't. You got lucky. Or am I wrong?

I think you're confused Quin. I'm not singling you out, and I've definitely not settled on my vote yet, but you have to look at things from my perspective, if you wouldn't mind:

1. INH, Lorab, and Eloh are all 3 former tribemates of mine that I gave my word on Mamana's beach I would look out for as long as they looked out for me. I don't intend to break my word, and I wouldn't ask that of anyone on this beach.

2. SVS Was instrumental in getting the ball rolling for this challenge, and I haven't initially considered her for a vote

3. I don't know your dynamic, or your records in terms of participation, contribution, etc. That's why I've asked.

Just as context, the general, prevailing wisdom on Manamana (doo doo doo doo doo) was that searching for idols was not a selfish act, and that exploring was good for the greater good of the tribe, when other needs were cared for. In this case, with there being a very good chance that we won the challenge (a risk which was true), I think it was fair to believe that those needs were indeed cared for.

Because, there's nothing here but the words "a battleship strategy". Nothing about quadrants. Nothing about picking diagonally (which I suggested based on the article *SVS* posted and her own desire/experience to use the diagonal strategy.) Nothing about taking turns, or dialing in on items, or using a grid with a color code.

Ask anyone from Manama, I'm the first person to give out fair dues, but taking credit for stuff you didn't do, that's a no-no.

I'll take this point by point.

1 - I don't recall you volunteering any of the information I suggested, let alone half.
2 - I never said I was the sole reason we won reward. Quite the opposite, I praised INH and SVS for helping to kick things off. Faraday also made some pretty clutch hits.
3 - It could of, but it didn't. I think "screwed up" is a little bit of a stretch. Had we lost you may have had a point.
4 = Finding any of the items is a matter of probability, but finding an item as early as we did (I think, my first guess?) provided invaluable momentum.
5 - I'm suggesting that we have eggs as a result of my vote. Whether or not I intended to find a chicken, I did.

Linki - Sorry, I must be confused. Are you claiming credit for the strategy the thread developed based on your recommendation that we use google?

Also, I'm not "rejecting your efforts" Quin. We're on the same team here, I'm asking you what those efforts were.

4 and 5 still mean nothing. You are by no means a stronger or more reliable player than the rest of us because of what you did in those two instances. Both of them were pure probability.

@linki - I did not say that. You chose to ignore my personal contributions. This is my response.
