I just want to say that the death category has been by far the hardest to rank. Every single submission for it is incredibly strong and it's so hard to put them in an order that feels fair. No matter what I do it's going to feel bad to even have one of them in last place (I could just create more ties haha we'll see)

It's all good. The score means more than the rank anyway!

I failed CATM. 22 shots out of 50 hit the target. I think I even shot the wrong one a few times.

Judas Priest - Beyond the Realms of Death

Solid. The solos are extremely cool, lyrics quite dark. Not my style but there's definitely some good musical talent here. Fun listen.

Homestuck - Savior of the Dreaming Dead

I really like the first half or so of this, it's one of the better Homestuck subs so far for sure. Didn't hold my interest too well all the way through though, got a little repetitive.

Crowded House - People Are Like Suns

Pretty song, if a bit standard. The lyrics seem to be more of a general commentary than based on a specific story, which makes it hit a little less hard than some of the other submissions on the emotional side, but it's a nice tune with lovely vocals.

The Mountain Goats - Matthew 25:21

Heartbreaking like many tMG songs. While the lyrics hit hard, the song itself admittedly doesn't stand out to me the way some of their other stuff does. Still beautiful. It's definitely a solid choice for this round.

Oooooo this is really unique. I'm fascinated by this piece genre/style-wise. Very cool listen, some peculiarly creepy parts. Looked up the artist and it turns out she's in the band Seabear which I know and like.

Full disclosure, of course I double-checked who submitted this haha. Apparently this a special exclusive sneak preview!! We're very lucky to know you! And now of course I feel obligated to score it highly. XD Jk, it really, really deserves it. Wow. It's absolutely gorgeous. Y'all have real talent. I want to listen to Eloh sing all the time now, and the guitar bit is beautiful too.

ROUND EIGHT

8. The Sirens - Something seductive -- not necessarily in an overtly sexual way, though it could be. This is pretty open to interpretation, whatever strikes you as music with a certain irresistible allure.

Baccano Soundtrack - Guns & Roses

Yesss. I haven't gotten around to watching Baccano but I think I've heard some of the soundtrack before and it's excellent. On category fit it's a bit loose, though I know it was a pretty loose prompt to begin with, and jazz can definitely be alluring but this is a bit more on the exciting adventure side imo. It's still "alluring" in its own way and definitely a very fun listen.

LOL, shouldn't be surprised to see something like this submitted to this category. I'm not a fan of Grease really, but this is one of the better songs from it I guess, and I can't deny she has a strong voice. It fits the bill but isn't my thing.
