It would be a nightmare. How am I supposed to assert total control over the thread if everyone is invested?Dragon D. Luffy wrote:Such a thing is not possible.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:I can only imagine a 40 player game in which everyone is highly invested.
Even at the 70 player game we had last year, there were like 25 highly invested players, another 25 mildly invested ones, and maybe 20 inactives.
I think of a game that has you,, Mist Puppet when he's fully invested and WAD/wat from NF and shudder.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:It would be a nightmare. Oh! Let me do that. Thanks, DDL and Soneji! Looking forward to it.Dragon D. Luffy wrote:Don't forget: your sign up doesn't count unless you vote for what roles you want in the game. You do it by sending a PM to WolfPrinceKiba.
Give us Wad, Immortal King, Marco when he's inspired, Alwaysmind when he's in tinfoil-mode, and myself when I'm on vacation. Then add pre-PHD MP, Jay, Golden when he thinks he is about to solve the game, Quin in tinfoil-mode, and Sloonei for a good measure. Watch the thread implode.Soneji wrote:I think of a game that has you,, Mist Puppet when he's fully invested and WAD/wat from NF and shudder.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:It would be a nightmare. I'm in.gfishfunk wrote:I am inviting Syndicate players to try a game on the realms. As a mod, I enjoy trying new mechanics, fiddling with styles and things. Dabbling in the Syndicate has made me interested in running something different as a result.
This is a link for a game on HCRealms based on the FX Series Legion. Its very super-power-y and comic-book-ish, which is really what drew people to the Realms to begin with. I will provide more details in that thread as I concoct the rules, the roles, and so on.
Legion features an alternative 1970s-ish world with mutants, humans, and other classic X-Men elements. The series follows David (a powerful mutant) and an interesting supporting cast. gfishfunk games tend to also bring in roles from other media that relate (tangentially in some way).
HCRealms is actually a site dedicated to to a strategic tabletop board game 'Heroclix', where players control teams of super hero miniatures from DC and Marvel comics. As a result (perhaps) Realms games tend to be very narrative driven and mechanically driven. Though I have definitely enjoyed the mechanics I've seen in the Syndicate, I think the mechanics of Realms games occupies more conversation space within the thread.

If you choose to try it out, go ahead and create an account and post in the sign-up thread. Please identify yourself as a syndicate member.
If there is a better place to pot this, please let me know.
Great! It takes a while for folks at the realms to realize that there is a new sign-up placed, so don't be discouraged with a trickling sign-up.Sloonei wrote:I'm in.gfishfunk wrote:If there is a better place to pot this, please let me know.

Its amazing on different levels.Sloonei wrote:I'll probably go watch Legion too. I just finished Mad Men last night so it's time for a new show, and I've heard nothing but very good things about this show.
I'm actually including some mechanics that support hard declines on role claiming as an experiment. I think it would be good for the realmsters to hit a claim wall.MovingPictures07 wrote:I really need to take a mafia break after my time in the crossover is complete, but I highly recommend people go play over on HCR. As seen here, where I (and my team) won a game by eliminating 4 players in one night, and having one of our own die to a vigilanteJackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2017 5:44 pm Iirc, the role kills players (lots at once?) but only if it know who they are.

It's basically a role madness game where a bunch of people including me made roles, mashed them up in a single game, and then you get to be our guinea pigs. Balanced is not expected, but epicness and hilarity are.
It's the same game @Marmot and @JaggedJimmyJay played last year. The difference is that this time around we won't have a voting system to pick roles. So balance should be alittle better maybe.
