The perfect pizza is a New Haven style pizza with white sauce, mushrooms, spinach, mozzarella, and fresh mozzarella.
Since I live nowhere close to New Haven, I usually just get a standard red sauce/cheese/mushroom pizza.

Favorite show is probably the sopranos. Although I think season one of legion is one of if not the best first season of a show I’ve ever seen. Favorite movie is probably between prestige and godfather II, favorite book is probably dune but maybe name of the wind, and favorite game is...I guess probably skyrim, I’ve played a few hundred hours of it over a couple different platforms so it’s tough not to give it the nod. Lots of strong contenders though.

Yes! I used to play baseball and basketball, and I follow both those and football on the profesional level, and college basketball. I very very very loosely follow the nhl and college football. I follow UT baseball and the smokies in as much as I go to a couple games a year.

The Red Sox! Not a great season for us but we won the series last year so it’s fine. Have a feeling we won’t be relevant for something like 3-7 years but I also have never quite got rid of that pre-curse breaking pessimism lol.

I'm still optimistic about the team if they can find a way to keep Betts in the fold, which I get the sense has been prioritized, but we'll see. Pitching is gonna be the wild card. I don't really trust Price to be good for a full year, Sale still seems like he should be himself when healthy but that's iffy, and I'm worried they just wasted the best year E-Rod will ever have.
The Bloom hiring is exciting though. If he was able to build a perennial contender in Tampa, I'm excited to see what he can do with money.

Eh, the “small market guy moves to big market team” thing works out less than you’d think. It’s not usually as easy as “develop guys the same but you can pay to keep them instead of trading them away as soon as they’re good.” Most guys are markedly better at one than the other. We’ll see though!
And yeah, I think betts is gone. He wants to set the market and I don’t think the Red Sox give it to him. I hope not though, I’ve liked betts since he broke into the bigs (he has some of the quickest hands at the plate I’ve ever seen), and I think he has a good chance to be productive up to 33-35.

If it was recently it was probably the playoffs. Playoffs in baseball are about as intense as sports get.

It seems an unpopular opinion these days, but I still think the NFL playoffs are the most intense. You only get one game. My favorite postseason is the NBA though which everyone else seems to hate, so don't mind me. All four are great.

by NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME
The problem with the nfl postseason is that you’re not really getting a lot of close games that mean anything—last year was a bit of an outlier though, tbf. But how often are conference championship games markedly better than the super bowl? Fairly regularly, I think?
The nba has a bit of a different issue, where there are really only 2-4 teams that can realistically win a championship in a given year barring injuries. You get occasional outliers like the 2011 Mavs, but for the most part there’s not a ton of drama in the nba playoffs because a 7 game series between the Celtics and pacers doesn’t mean anything when neither team realistically has a shot at a title. I think the nba would benefit greatly from cutting down on how many teams make the playoffs tbh.
That’s why the nhl and mlb playoffs are so exciting, any team in any given year can win the World Series or the Stanley cup.

No doubt about it, and I understand the appeal. I think that's actually why I am less enthusiastic about those, especially MLB -- the playoffs feel almost randomized, so being the best team only barely matters. To me it makes the 162 game regular season feel less meaningful.

I want the playoffs to have that “randomized” feel. I want it to feel like the championship could hinge on any moment. Baseball is my favorite because every single pitch has the chance to change the momentum of a series. And baseball plays every day, so momentum seems like a very real factor. Hockey’s intensity comes from the frantic pace of it, which is awesome for all its own reasons.
The NFL playoffs definitely have a special appeal as an event because of the single game format.
Baseball is my favorite sport in the world by a wide margin, but I wouldn’t be against shortening the regular season. That’ll never happen though.

I think it’s more that the playoffs reward different skills/team composition than the regular season does in baseball, moreso than in most other sports (this is true to some extent in basketball too, but more teams make the postseason so it’s a bit less pronounced).
So in my opinion it’s not so much randomness as it is the playoffs rewarding different things than the regular season.
