Aether, I'm not sure what you mean by this. Could you try phrasing the question differently?

I also want to second that it's been great having you on the site so far. I hope that your experience here has been and remains enjoyable, and that you continue to grace us with your presence.

Important Hostly Updates:

Day 6 may end an hour or two late. We are having a happy hour with work tomorrow to welcome the summer interns, and I am expected to attend.

Assuming there are subsequent Nights and/or Days:

Night 6 will probably end early, due to schedule constraints in llama's life. This means that Night 6 will be shortened, probably by 2-3 hours. You still have to get your PMs submitted in time for them to count, so make sure to plan accordingly.

Days beyond this one will be 24 hours, in order to keep up the pace of this speed game.

By majority, I mean, is someone lynched when the number of votes for them reach a certain number? It seems like there's no such thing on this site though.

How long until EoD from now?

Ah, I see. Well if it became truly insurmountable, the Day could be ended early. However, I usually only do this if every vote has been placed, as there is sometimes a penalty for missing votes. There is also a lot of potential lynch manipulation in this game. And more practically, I have to leave of work right now, so the lynch will have to end at or shortly after the scheduled EoD, which is 6:26pm Eastern (US) Time.

T answer your EoD question as you asked it, since I know time zones can be weird, EoD is 14 hours from when you posted asking when it was.

You've observed everyone who has cased the last couple phases. Who do you feel was most manipulative about it, or most unfair? Is it consistent with your last rainbow?

I can understand why many members of town would view me as mafia. That doesn't make anyone more or less town imo. What I would like you to look at after I go is who seems genuine in their casing/s against me and holding some reservations, and who has conveniently jumped on board.

My rainbow hasn't changed that much, except I feel worse about Vompatti.

Dragon D. Luffy

Honestly that's it.

Reasons why sanmateo is mafia:

~ He has taken part in exactly zero mafia lynches. when BR was lynched, he missed the vote. when Roxy was lynched, he voted for aether. when Bass was lynched, he voted for G-Man.

~ He was vocally defensive of both Bass and Roxy when they were threatened with lynches, and later chalked it up to simply being wrong all game long. in one of my earliest mafia-aligned games, i employed that exact strategy -- intentionally be wrong in every read and see how long i can get away with it

~ I think his interactions with all three of the dead mafia players reflect poorly on him. My exact conclusions were: w/r/t BR, he looked barely okay (which was frankly too generous). w/r/t Roxy, he looked worse. w/r/t Bass, he looked so bad it's extreme WIFOM.
idk how i'm supposed to defend myself from this case without doing a pile of wifom. but ftr this is the worst game i've played. i haven't been right since like day 2, i dont even wanna keep coming back and checking the thread at this point

Is it possible for someone else to stop my lynch? I wouldn't recommend that tbh. Once town is 100% sure I'm town there would be more clarity for future scumhunting.

Mafia might want to do that for the sake of stalling, and also creating confusion. If you're town, it puts us on a tricky position next phase. And if you're mafia the benefits are obvious.

I wouldn't advise town to do it, for the same reason. We need more information, not more confusion. And we have enough time to make mislynches.

Can we please ban Majiffy (player from 2015 Mafia Championships Game #5) pre-emptively? He has told a player to literally commit suicide in the game. Like not in the context of the game but irl.

We have a strict don't be an asshat (or jerk or whatever you want to call it) policy here, in order to maintain the excellent community we have been able to develop. So do not fret. :noble:

It's really a shame that Game 5 was tarnished by such play, in my opinion.

QFT

I didn't follow Games 4 and 5 very much, but I have been vaguely keeping up, and I just couldn't believe his behavior. I didn't like the way people were bashing each other's gameplay even in Game 3 (Banks's constant bashing of Turnip and others for "not playing the game" when most of his post quality was questionable also annoyed the hell out of me), so to see what happened in Game 5 is discouraging.

I'm curious as to who will be awarded a wildcard, but perhaps this is better discussion for the Championship thread.

I don't really either, I just was annoyed by the consistent implication that quantity > quality when there were many posts throughout the game that didn't contribute much of anything, IMO. That said, there was much amazing town play all around, and I wouldn't argue that you didn't give them much to go off of either. :P

Game 3 actually went well; it's not even a comparison to Game 5. There just was some tension, particularly at the start of Game 3, as I'm sure you recall, that wasn't exactly pleasant.
