That may be part of it, I can admit as much, but it's really not just that. I think you are bad in this game because of your actions, tone, and interactions with other players in this game. Largely the latter. You are a compatible Sokoth teammate as demonstrated by DH, and you are compatible with pretty much every other possible baddie (DDL, Enrique, inh, even DF and sigliets-- honestly maybe not speed so much after that 3p speculation interaction)

That’s...not entirely inaccurate, unfortunately.

I’ve more or less ballsed this game up, IMO. I’ve had three solid scumreads, DDL, Luna, and Nova. Those three players are the only ones I’ve tried my damndest to get lynched. And two of them have been NK’d, proving them to be civilians. Quick aside: I know that this is WIFOM-central, but does it honestly make sense for me to kill two of my three scumreads if I’m bad?

That all is enough for me to take a step back and reconfigure my viewpoint. Sure, I can intellectually engage with the cases against DDL, but my own self-doubt combined with his increasingly genuine pleas to his civvieness are enough for me to not want to rush into lynching him.

Current town reads: Enrique. Yes, yes, I know. But I still genuinely don’t understand the cases against him. The dude’s read civ for me the entire damn game.

Golden. The only thing about him that’s rubbed me the wrong way, was his quirky approach to captaincy. I appreciate that he stepped down when he realized how his strategy and the controversy around it was drowning it actual scum hunting. His case against TH has been floating around in the back of my head for a while, and is just getting more and more enforced as the game progresses. I think lynching Golden at this point would be idiotic.

Speed. Guy’s been a voice-of-reason for the thread for quite a bit, even if I haven’t always agreed with his cases. Nevertheless, his interactions with Nutella just seemed baffling.

Moving onto scumreads: Nutella. She’s damn hard to read. However, she’s been making me a little nervous this game from the very start. This exploded over the course of my catch-up session. All of her conversations with Speed had me audibly going yeech. Her defenses of TH seem baseless and overdone, and her switch to Golden nigh-incoherent. She’s a baddie.

Turnip Head. Another figure that’s inspired apprehension in me for quite a bit. He caught my eye by using his signature posting style to deflect questions about the game, using it almost as a shield. His response to Golden’s case against him has been fairly feeble IMO. Then, when folks start mentioning his name, while feeling rather cool about DDL and Enrique, Nutella and DFaraday swoop the fuck in. Too clean.

DFaraday. Dude ain’t Tarzan, so his randomly swinging into the thread on a goddamn vineyard place a decisive vote feels out of place. Just bizarre behavior, and I don’t get/buy his stated motivations.

Fuck it, I’ll take a page from Mac’s book and attempt to name the baddie team: Nutella, Turnip Head, and DFaraday.

Mark it down folks.

I am sure you realise that it is much harder to formulate a scum read of someone you share BTSC with. The psychology is similar to Stockholm Syndrome. When you are able to have intimate interpersonal communication with someone it is human nature to presume the best in them and rationalise all the bad stuff away subconsciously. It makes sense to be more sceptical of your teammates as a rule because of this. Defending them from people who are less blind to their bad behaviour because of what they said to you in private quarters is anti-town play whether or not it may seem like it.

The only thing that has changed about my reads right now is that nutella has dropped. She is cheerleading a bad lynch. I wouldn't support a CFD of her. The subject of the day was DDL vs. Enrique. Well neither of them have done much to dissuade me. For all their bluster they have barely engaged with each other today. I am more confident than ever that they were distancing scum partners.

Lol honestly fuck it I feel like I put a good deal of effort into linking DDL to Sokoth, and that case (admittedly my case) Makes sense to me. I don't like playing mafia based on "feelings" and using emotion to govern my decision making.

Hes defending me for the whole game. Then suddenly he comes here and says "Guys, guys. I had an epiphany. What if... DDL tried to save Sokoth? And what if he pushed the CFD on Wilgy to lynch him? I think I just solved the game".
