The four remaining members of the group trekked further into the labyrinth of wealth. Snow Dog had an idea. "Hey wait, what if we try to get to high ground? We might be able to see Smaug from further up!"

And so they began to search for a staircase. Epi was the first to find one, off in the corner of the throne room. After a turn at a right angle led into a smaller antechamber, filled with fine furs and a large, cracked mirror. The group thought it somewhat miraculous that the former King's dressing-room had escaped Smaug's destruction so completely, and speculated that because the riches here were not of stone or metal the dragon had ignored them in his pillages.

Kylemii was too scared to even speak, even protected from the dragon. Epi and Snow Dog quietly agreed to vote for juliets, but she raised her voice, shouting them down. "WE'RE KILLING KYLEMII!!" she screamed, and Epi and Snow Dog were so stunned by the sheer volume of her voice that they feared to protest too strongly.

juliets stalked over and made quick work of Kylemii where he cowered, and ripped at his face until a mask fell to the ground. "Told you," she said.

That's fine. Since there's so few left, if Night ends early, you are still alive, and the game isn't over, I can extend the day to allow you to vote and do whatever else you need to do.

Epi and Snow Dog spent the day climbing stairs, moving quietly from chamber to chamber, to try to gain the high ground above Smaug. Eventually, they reached a balcony that looked out over the entire underground palace that had once belonged to Thrór. When they reached the top, Snow Dog yelled, "Come on, Smaug! Ruler of stone and dirt! You've never left this dank hole because you're scared to find a real warrior out there! Show yourself, you coward!"

Smaug, incensed, obliged. He roared fiercely and beat his wings furiously to lift off and try to reach the two remaining members of the company. Snow Dog, in a fit of battle-lust, leaped off the balcony to meet him, intending to stab the beast dead with his elven dagger. However, as he fell, fear gripped his heart, and he dropped the dagger before he could complete his stroke. Smaug burned him and swallowed him up in one bite.

Then the calamitous beast amused itself for days playing cat-and-mouse alone with Epignosis, and when Epi, the last of the dwarves, was dead, he lay down amid his accumulated wealth, there to bask in the splendor he had accumulated, rest, and bide his time.


Because of previously mentioned rl issues, I probably won't get around to posting endgame stuff tonight. And there is a lot to share. Thanks for your patience, and I really hope you've all enjoyed the game!

Congrats Juliets! I was so hoping you'd burn them all after I died! Once I was alone I started just trying to play for any side and didn't care who won as long as I could stick with them. No team ever got enough wood elf points for us to join them, probably because of the constant bandwagon attempts directed at Boogs. I really thought I'd made my allegiance super obvious after defending him so hard but apparently people didn't put two and two together there.

So I needed to forgo the armor and augment my vote.

I did feel bad by the way (even though I pretended not to). But as soon as juliets, after having followed me ALL game said "Well, Epi's been known to be wrong," and then voted MM and survived that? That was a big red flag.

A pity I didn't spend my money more wisely. And I had a lot of it.

My first civilian win eluded me because of poor money management.

Ah okay! I sent you cash that night thinking you were a civ and hoping you'd think it was a hint that I was still on the civ team (even though I could, and was happy to, win with anyone). If a baddie or civ with btsc had got 100 wood elf points we would've joined btsc with you. I was really hoping to do that, especially since Boogs and Spaghetti died within 24 hours of each other and left me all alone!


Oh yeah, and Boogs didn't fake that silence. Basically his secret was that he had a 6th of a chance to get drunk with the vintner each night and if he did he was silenced. It happened to him on night 1 and instead of claiming his own role had silenced him he was mistakenly a little too honest about what happened and so people thought he was lying and it was too late to cover up.

After surviving my first kill, I kept buying leather vests. I was, after my the first attempt on my life, un-NKable. I wasn't expecting MM to fuck up the numbers like he did. Had I never bought another vest, I could have amped up my voting, which might have changed things around.

After juliets tried to kill me, I figured that I didn't need votes, but that someone would NK me again soon. That never happened, and it cost me.

I can't believe how close to the wire the other goblin team and the civs came to winning this thing. The endgame was definitely intense and pretty awesome.

MMs lynch came out of nowhere I felt like so I'm glad he got to bring a couple down with him. THs secret was something like if he's lynched the kill was less effective lol So it evened out

It's unfortunate all of our team got kinda busy at the same time (and when it was more critical for us to be around) We pretty much wasted all our money

If I were in Wales, I'd buy you a drink. We did our best and in the end it wasn't enough. I really, really thought I could win this one too, but it didn't happen. I would have had to do something counter-intuitive (I assume), which would have meant you STILL wouldn't have won.

I just have to say that all of you guys were so awesome; sometimes being the Mod means you have to say things to people that they don't like, like, "Chill out, throttle back, STFU!!!!!" and you guys barely gave me and Russti any grief whatsoever when it came to that. We said "Stop" and you did. I have hosted/played games where that was not the case, so please know that I mean it

There was a high drama level early in the game, but IMO that was all about passion. You guys rocked
