Oh boy. The "he used a specific word that implies that he's a baddie" argument.Spacedaisy wrote:First is INH/Timmer: If I am forced to choose between INH and Wilgy who both seem to think the other is bad, I would choose INH as bad and Wilgy as Civ. Wilgy's behavior reads very much civ to me, and I feel like he was low hanging fruit on Day 1 because he really drove the Day 1 lynch. Timmer's response read angry to me, and INH seems to have a bit of remorse. It looks like he might have placed a distancing vote that bit him in the ass. If Timmer is Kilgrave then he is the logical choice for a distancing vote on Day 1. The thing that really caught my eye though was this kind of innocuous post:
Not really sure how I can respond to this other than saying that my randomization was genuine, even if you don't believe the screenshot. So was my remorse after Wilgy decided to jump on Timmer at the last second.
The highlighted caught my eye because I found the wording to be off. Most people who don't know why someone didn't die would ask, "Are you surprised you didn't die?" Or perhaps, "Do you know why you didn't die?" But INH jumped straight to pardon, which implies a Civ reason for surviving a lynch usually. Pardoning is most often the mechanic used by a Mayor role. So to me it read like he either pardoned Timmer himself or he wanted to frame it as Civ as possible without defending him. Add in the fact I find his Day 1 behavior to be odd and it brings me to the conclusion there is a possible baddie connection there.insertnamehere wrote:Welp. Not really sure what to make of that. Timmer most likely has a power role, not sure if that means anything for his alignment.
Timmer, are you surprised at your pardoning?
It is.DrWilgy wrote:I'm going to wait for 7 hours and then vote. INH, Eloh, I would like full reads on all the players that are alive. If you are civ, convince me of your reads. I believe we are a day away from Lylo if this is a mislynch.
I'd like to make the people who think I'm buddy buddy with Timmer to explain away this postinsertnamehere wrote:Hmm.timmer wrote:Someone named Ruben. You?DrWilgy wrote:Hey Timmer, what character are you?
http://marvelcinematicuniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Ruben
Ruben was some annoying "nice guy" weirdo who had a freaky, incest-y relationship with his sister, and lived in the same building as Jessica Jones. He died at the hands of the main villain in episode four and was generally a very minor character.
Considering the very limited number of power roles, I struggle to think of why Ruben would be one of them and be given invulnerability.
I think Timmer is:
A. Lying to protect a powerful civ role, like Kilgrave, Trish, or Luke
B. Lying to protect his real baddie power role.
C. Lying about knowing why he survived the lynch.
I think C is very unlikely.
Please discuss.

I thought it was a neutral post INH. I'm pretty sure votes aren't changable. Let me double check.
Regarding the word "pardon" I haven't followed Mad Max at all, so I had no clue about that. No, one word does not make you a baddie, it was just something that seemed to add to what the other things seemed to be saying to me. However, your explanation makes sense and I get it.insertnamehere wrote:Oh boy. Timmer, are you surprised at your pardoning?
To give you an inner working into my vocabulary and word choice, the reason I went with pardoning is because in Mad Max, the other game that I'm playing right now, pardons have been featured very prominently, and usually seem to involve myself. I guess I just had pardons on the brain. I also wanted to give Timmer an opportunity to defend himself because I felt he had been unfairly jumped upon earlier.

If that one word choice means that I must be scum, by all means...
Pretty straightforward. Look you voted Timmer "randomly" on D1. But then when Wilgy throws a vote on him, suddenly you're making a case for him instead. It really looks like you placed a distancing vote and then turned around and latched onto the low hanging fruit on D1 to me. If you can't see why I might think that about your D1 actions, then I don't know what to tell you dude. Call it hollow all you want but it was what struck me as suspicious.insertnamehere wrote:I'd like to make the people who think I'm buddy buddy with Timmer to explain away this postinsertnamehere wrote:Hmm.timmer wrote:Someone named Ruben. C'mon guys. You can do better. This is how Epi managed to mislynch Indi for no reason, and how I'm about to be mislynched.
This is what happens when you ignore analysis in favor of gut reads. Gut reads are useful, don't get me wrong, but they shouldn't be the end-all, be-all like they are here.
Maybe my "playstyle" just doesn't mesh with the groups, idk.

I also think that if INH flips bad, it may not be a bad idea like you said to murk Sorsha. I think Elo has more going against her however, like this late bandwagon vote.
Well, Kilgrave is the big bad guy of the series that directly inspired the game, so I thought it was safe to assume he was in the role list and had some sort of powers. Invulnerability could certainly be a part of that.DrWilgy wrote:Did we know about Kilgrave at the time INH?
