In this case I disagree. Alison confidently spewing reads that appear to have no basis is a townish indication, although she can fake it. Alison spewing nonsense regarding optimal strategy and being plainly wrong is driven by her alignment being the opposite of the alignment she is presenting the strategy for.

Her town strat she is claiming to support is "dive into the loser's bracket and eliminate all the wolves immediately." That seems like a strat that fits the persona Alison presents, in which she has fast decisive reads that she is absolutely confident on and given four chops she can just end it. But that's just a persona. The real town Alison grabs ONE death tunnel, chosen mostly at random, and sacrifices them to see what happens. All the ridiculous sure thing associatives she builds around the sacrifice are just testing and probing. Here she is acting like she wants to bet the game on them instead.

Yes. Because her MO is based on killing ONE and reevaluation based on the flip, so it functionally is not possible in this setup and Alison would know that. Her failing to adapt is NOT Alison like in the least.

i think i agree... in alison's case i think it seems in character. but her statement that anyone town should want to do the same is incorrect at minimum, since if everyone felt that way there'd be no mafia in the loser's bracket.

Yeah that's a problem. Let's say just for grins that we manage to shove all three wolves into the losers bracket and one of them is a powerhouse wolf that can drive the discussion there. Throw in a "I'm just following the powerhouse wolf" townie and the wolves get to kill four town of their choice N1. If you wanna go in there and get down and dirty in a wolf hunt, great. If you are town going in there predisposed to do Alison's bidding, or Mac's, or mine, it would be better for all concerned if you just don't.

Yeah that's a problem. Let's say just for grins that we manage to shove all three wolves into the losers bracket and one of them is a powerhouse wolf that can drive the discussion there. Throw in a "I'm just following the powerhouse wolf" townie and the wolves get to kill four town of their choice N1. If you wanna go in there and get down and dirty in a wolf hunt, great. If you are town going in there predisposed to do Alison's bidding, or Mac's, or mine, it would be better for all concerned if you just don't.

People we need to adapt to the setup here.

There are only three wolves. You get EIGHT votes. If you haven't clued into the fact that people are going to be voting for townies, clue in. We can't just "throw the wolves in the loser's bracket and make them fight among themselves," because we are, by definition, throwing in at least five townies. We have to assign eight people to the bracket with an eye towards whether those eight people will be able to identify and prosecute the wolves among them, not just say "okay, anyone I kinda vaguely wolf read can just get thrown in there and I wash my hands.

Please, everyone quit OMGUS thinking when you get voted for. Townies are getting voted for. Get over it. If we have the perfect town sweep outcome and chop all three wolves in the first cut we will still also chop a townie. If that townie is me and we win on the first cut I promise you I am not gonna cry about getting chopped there.

In my opinion we want at least a couple wolves, and we want townies who can take the heat of an "okay half of us are gonna die here" situation with a clear head and make good decisions under that stress. Are you a townie, and are you that townie? If so, you should expect votes.

Four players will be eliminated from loser's. If you are in loser's, even if you are one of the four, you have a say as to who the other three are.

In this case I disagree. Alison confidently spewing reads that appear to have no basis is a townish indication, although she can fake it. Alison spewing nonsense regarding optimal strategy and being plainly wrong is driven by her alignment being the opposite of the alignment she is presenting the strategy for.

Her town strat she is claiming to support is "dive into the loser's bracket and eliminate all the wolves immediately." That seems like a strat that fits the persona Alison presents, in which she has fast decisive reads that she is absolutely confident on and given four chops she can just end it. But that's just a persona. The real town Alison grabs ONE death tunnel, chosen mostly at random, and sacrifices them to see what happens. All the ridiculous sure thing associatives she builds around the sacrifice are just testing and probing. Here she is acting like she wants to bet the game on them instead.

I have never seen tim's scum game iirc. I feel like many times he gets eliminated incorrectly for the most messed up of reasons. this is why I think that Tim shouldn't go into the second bracket day 2. we need him to find scum and send them to bracket 2. I highly doubt we will vote all 3 mafia into bracket 2 on day 1.

we need him here to say stuff like this. I feel like many here are missing the key points and strategies to this type of mafia game.

omgus is bad/wrong for numerous reasons more so in this game.

I have seen both his scum game and town game. I think I'm fairly good at reading him, except I lose confidence or I develop doubts.

do I want MacDougall in bracket 2 when I'm not sure what his alignment could be? idk tbph. he is a confident and vocal player either alignment and is good at being a leader regardless too.

I just think there is too many highly vocal people that is too confident that we will put all 3 mafia so early into bracket 2. . and andsome of these people know or should know players like Tim and MacDougall are easily mistaken about their alignment.
