Yeah RIP to Made (and the Stalfos) but welcome back Made! Hopefully your insights will be useful, with your unique perspective on the lynch.

Also goodbye to AP. :/

Question for Epi: Is working together publicly on riddles allowed? If it is, I think we should discuss doing so. I'd rather find out first and talk about it though, so we can assess the benefits of having more rupees vs giving the Hyruleans more.

Haha! They do talk a bunch in that show. And so fast! My girlfriend learned English partly by watching it.

Anyway, as I said before, I think it bears more discussion, but I support the idea of sharing...ideas in thread. It's obviously risky, because more rupees for the goodies means more items and more kills, but it also means the baddies will be able to upgrade faster and better. It'll also engender good vibes and whatnot, helping each other, if you're into that sort of thing.

Anyway, my point is that I think the fact that we all share rupees means these things are more valuable to us, and we need every advantage against the goodies, who have BTSC and are talking about all this anyway (and so probably will get most things right). I'm curious about other perspectives though.

I'm indifferent on this. While I believe discussion is good, I am also more afraid that the Hyrulians would take more advantage of the information than the civs would, since they have BTSC, and their items to buy are cheaper than upgrades for Ganon's minions.

Even a blind pig find s a truffle every now and again.

Especially useful when someone you don't like succeeds and you need to undercut them.

RIP Made 1.0, welcome Made 2.0! Assuming you're a civvie anyway.

I don't really get why Made 1.0 got votes, but I guess it was D1 and there was hardly anything else going on. Frankly, I made the same mistake as him too, and only realized I was wrong upon reading through the thread just now. Given how early it is in the game, I think not fully understanding how the rupee system works is more believable of a lone civvie than a baddie, unless it seems particularly contrived.

Russtifinko wrote:Also wanted to say: MP, what gives? You're normally so astute, I'm having trouble seeing how you missed that MR's vote was a placeholder. Heck, I was reading at work on the sly and even noticed that.
Sorry, I literally caught up in like 5 minutes yesterday before voting because I realized I had to vote before I left for class and that I could very well miss it if I waited until afterward. I honestly didn't see MR's post and thought he had posted without voting, something I have seen him do before if I remember correctly. Additionally, I'm in the Doctor Who game (which has over 7,000 posts), a game on K-Site (which I've been unfairly neglecting in a fashion similar to my participation in this game so far), and I thought I could juggle it all better because midterm madness is over, but my workload started picking up much more than I anticipated the last few days.

And on the topic of accountants, I know plenty who goof off and have time, but I also know many others who keep incredibly busy, especially if they are in public accounting and we're talking January through April.

As an accounting PhD student, if I did literally every single thing to the absolute max, I would need to utilize every hour of the week and then some, so I have to juggle my time wisely. Sometimes I have more time than others. Also the lifestyle of an accountant is not the same of a PhD student. :p :srsnod:

That said, I intend to fully get into this game, but I just don't feel super engaged in it quite yet. I have a harder time getting engaged absolutely immediately in speed games in general as well, especially when I'm juggling at least one other game simultaneously.

Finally? I was just here less than 24 hours ago. :P

Anyway, my sincere apologies, folks, I'm glad more didn't follow my MR vote. HOWEVER, that being said, there is a point to still be made about MR's vote.

If he was "placeholding", he didn't change it. Why not "placehold" a random vote; therefore, if he knew there was a real possibility he wouldn't make it back, he wouldn't be placing a vote on a confirmed civvie and instead COULD be placing it on a baddie?

Linki: You may have called it, but it's true. Trust me, and everyone knows how much I like to post if I have the time; when I'm not posting in a mafia game it's incredibly likely I'm busy with commitment, whether academic or personal.

But that's exactly my point! The goodies already have BTSC, so they'll probably get most of this stuff anyway. We're unlikely to help them as much as ourselves by sharing. As yes their upgrades are cheaper, but we can pool gold for ours, so ours are actually cheaper per participating player than theirs are!

This convinces me. I'm sharing what I have, and I hope others will do the same. The more rupees and treasure we can earn, the better our chances to outlast those do-gooders.

I'm sorry, I didn't intend to come across grouchy because I'm not grouchy at all, it's just a frustrating double standard -- players who post a lot inevitably get eyeballed when they, for whatever reason, post any less volume, and they often get inevitably eyeballed normally when they post a lot. Whereas players who become known for not posting such volume may be suspected at first, but generally it becomes their "norm". I was just stating that thinking someone is bad more than anyone else just because they sometimes are infamous for posting a large volume, regardless of alignment, and they are not doing so in the current case, especially when it's Night 1 in a Speed game, is a ridiculous suspicion to have.

Also, to weigh in on the contest issue, I agree with Russ. Baddies have BTSC. Civvies have nothing but the thread.

I'm still confused about why we're talking about Day 2 at all right now, and not the contest. We're going to win this one of two ways:

1) Lynch goodies.
2) Win tons of rupees and get super powerful, and then lynch goodies.

So I'm am all for discussion and finding goodies, but the rupees sure wouldn't hurt. And we only have the Night to get them, anyway. Lynching goodies can wait till the tomorrow, IMO.

That said, anyone else got a contribution for the riddle?

Shit, you're right. Assuming we get this right, We have the ability to earn 150 rubies.

YO GANON!
Personally I think going the path of going wizrobe first and a patra second would be ideal. Less opportunity for Hyrule to kill, and making game more difficult to win for Mafia.

Is there some Zelda lore that needs to be known that would help figuring out this puzzle?

Yeah you could be right there, Ninja. I think the blurb about the challenge said these were the words of a spell that unlocks the eggs, so they don't actually refer to things on the eggs. However, it could very well be diamonds for the answer.
