No, we just have to stop the New Rogues from their killing ways. I've only just thought about this now.

Well, damn, then you won on Night 1... if only Black Rock hadn't figured out how to get the nightkill back. We were desperate, and all the host said was that there was a way. Finally, she figured that Iron Heights must be the way, and she started making her way there.

One thing I don't know is who killed Bullzeye. Grodd (rock bash head, gotta be)... but the other one wasn't Plunder. I wonder if he was Tar Pit.

I don't think it actually means that. It's just the way I reworded it (to avoid quoting PMs).

But I guess it is ambiguous, and I have no idea what the secret to the Gem Cities is.

I was too busy and too "phone posting" to do something I had planned... would have been ideal just after BR posted to Bass in the thread and outed herself.

:feb: :feb: :feb:

Timmer was Mirror Master. He was telling the truth. Roxy got a kill from Golden Glider's lynch, OR someone else got a kill in a map-based way (like the Llama Attack Drone :feb:).

And while that detail made a big difference at a close-to-endgame point, I would like to put it out there right now that we had already played our asses off to get to that point, AND:
Mister Rearranger wrote:Rogue Rules

1. "Rogues Don't Snitch" - No BTSC unless otherwise specified. Role-outing or otherwise publicly revealing information that you've obtained on your own is strictly prohibited.
The only reason it made a difference is BECAUSE of the role-outing, so it really should not have been a factor... right? :nicenod:

For instance, there's a Costume Shop where you can get Old Rogue costume. Try and kill BR right now, and you'll get struck by Weather Wizard lightning due to her costume. :feb: So maybe someone got the Captain Cold costume and used it for a kill. Wasn't us, we don't know that answer for sure.

Who was penalized for role-outing? I did my darndest not to.

And yes, that was a huge bug to throw us all off at the end of the game.

Btw, Epignosis was Tar Pit, so I was right about him.

Kudos to the New Rogues. You played a perfectly calibrated game; never too chatty, never too quiet, always in every conversation but never the topic OF the conversation. And with no kill? It's a real triumph, my hat's off to you all!

I wonder what would have happened if you and BR had had a full time of BTSC at the Saloon? We would have had to continue with the silver-tongued desperation talk that the last phase of our game consisted of, but that would have been a damn tough one at that time, since you knew what was what, to a degree.

I'm sorry timmer. I was convinced you were lying, and just making things up to stay alive. I knew SVS was an Old Rogue, and so didn't believe a word you said.

So did Roxy kill twice, or did Bass borrow a kill from her?

Our prevailing theory is that Roxy got a kill from the Golden Glider lynch.

And oh my God, Roxy died in Star Labs. You guys killed her. You don't even know how crucial that was. Star Labs, guys... I'll wait to tell you the juicy details until after the game is officially ended, but I'll say this: we did play a good game in-thread, but our map-game was equally good, and equally essential to our victory. All in all, I estimate about 15 decisions we made throughout the game were all essential to get to where we are right now, and half of them were taking advantage of the map and what we had found. Who knew Bass had owned a car? :nicenod:

Oh I know. But it was a good argument to try to save him. :haha:

And geez civvies, I know I've done a bit of self-voting lately, but not as a decisive suicidal lynching method. And it happened TWICE this game, and Bullzeye probably would have done the same.

I think it's kind of ironic that I made a big statement about how the Indy Rogues will simply side with the Civvies in this game, definitely... and then later we hatched a plan to bring Bass to our side, because we knew he was Indy.

My goal from Day 1 was to get to Star Labs. That was the first very good decision I made, without it, we would not be where we are today. Llama would be alive, and we would be goners.

I know... I had asked the host, out of curiosity, who would have died that night since the Trickster wasn't supposed to trap someone on odd nights. He said it was TH, and I guess the kill would have been randomly redirected to someone who would die just like poor Spacedaisy. So we can't really predict how it would have affected the outcome. Maybe Pied Piper would have died, maybe Murmur. ;)

I had wanted to play a stronger game in the middle there, but I honestly had no idea what was going on, or who any of the other New Rogues were, if they even had BTSC, and I was slowly being outed by people talking openly about the mind controls, and then both my kills failed, and I sorta threw my hands in the air :P I had a fun time though. On the map I mostly hung out at Granite Peak hoping somebody would show up.

This game was probably the most complicated I've ever played, with the number of items/secrets/location secrets easily greater than anything I've ever seen. While I know MR had some time issues and there were some problems, I still give him props for trying such an ambitious, massive concept of a game! This was difficult to play but very invigorating, and in the end, a reminder that proper play can be done even in the face of near-blatant info dumping!

Agreed! Instead of trying to prevent role-hinting and claiming, I think hosts should just add elements to the game to foil such things. Baddies with a dead role check, Seemers, role-checker-trickers, role-checks that can give false info, etc.

I wanted to win my last game before my break :pout:

Anyway, you all played a great game. When I kept asking LC what he thought about BR, I thought one of them could be bad. Never considered the option that both would be

The stupid "only 2 old rogues left" claim. I think that's basically what ended the game. Because no matter how genuine I felt Timmer was, we couldn't get passed it. And then, when the Pied Piper got information, we had no choice but to trust it.

I do think the lack of killing and BTSC played out well for you guys, because of everything MM said already, but LC, I think you played a brilliant game, and the rest did a great job as well. Well played!

But if I ever come back to play mafia, you better watch your back at all times :P

MR, what a crazy and fun game! Thanks :D
