Because there are 3 secret roles. Do you know what they do? Neither do I. One of them could be a recruiter. Like I said the Master is a good assumption, but if the hosts don't say it, we don't know it.MovingPictures07 wrote:S~V~S, with all due respect, I don't understand why you think it's ambiguous, but I suppose it's a moot point.

Yay for the lynch!. You did a good job on that case MP - kudos to you. MM, will miss you personally but will not miss your character.
I'll have to put my days and times in tomorrow for the contest because I'm too tired to think about it. I know I can't end after 8:30 on any night and can't do it at all on Thursday or Friday (jeopardy). Oh - I guess I just did what i thought i was too tired to do. Ok, gotta check the right box and then I'm off to bed.

Re: Dr. Who Mafia - Night 6
A fair point, one that I agree with (cautioning against irrational conclusions), but keep in mind that:S~V~S wrote:Because there are 3 secret roles. Do you know what they do? Neither do I. Like I said the Master is a good assumption, but if the hosts don't say it, we don't know it.MovingPictures07 wrote:S~V~S, with all due respect, I don't understand why you think it's ambiguous, but I suppose it's a moot point.
And I guess I don;t like being told to "Read the roles"![]()
But seriously, when it comes to role assignment speculation and such, we need to remember those three secret roles.
1) Lucy Saxon, the role in question, IS one of those secret roles. So that eliminates one possibility (she could not recruit herself).
2) From a canon perspective, it makes no sense for any other character in the entire Doctor Who show to be able to recruit Lucy Saxon, other than The Master. This is confirmed by the fact that The Master's ability clearly says it can recruit/gain BTSC with Lucy Saxon.
Therefore, I'm going to say it's safe to assume that Lucy was VERY likely aligned in an LMS duo with The Master, until given reason otherwise.
Anyway, like I said, it's sort of a moot point, since MM only would have one teammate in this scenario anyway (The Master) and discerning who that person is just based on interaction wouldn't be easy.
Anyway x 2, this means there are still very likely 2 Daleks left alive, and my next best Dalek guess would be Gotrees, based on his behavior and vote history.
However, I'm not willing to present a case against him at this time, and think we really need to catch a Cyberman, though I won't mind if we hit any baddie, as we did today.
I would like to find The Master though, so I think we should pay attention to people surviving kills (yes, I realize I did, but I also explained how I did, due to my prize), particularly those who say they don't know how they survived. At the moment, this would be BR.

Now, to clarify, I'm not advocating that I think BR is bad necessarily, nor that we should vote people who survive NKs. But I do think it is necessary to keep in mind those who survive kills and say they don't know how, ESPECIALLY if they survive 2+ NKs. That's when it starts becoming noteworthy.

Even though she said she knows how she survived... it's interesting to note now several facts:
1) Daisy and Dana were vouching for each other for quite some time, hard.
2) The Master killed Daisy last night.
3) Metalmarsh, who is now revealed to be Lucy Saxon, was gunning after Dana hard, after abandoning it for a few cycles.
4) Guess who else said Dana was "bad, bad, bad"? Elo.

Frankly, if Elo survived another NK, the aforementioned post combined with that fact might honestly be enough to convince me she is The Master. Assuming that would happen.
Anyway, it's good to keep options open, and I'm not sure what I think of Elo or BR at this moment, but let's remember to keep this in mind.

Dana also thought that both Epignosis 1.0 & Snowy 1.0 were bad. So I am not sure I want to be lynching anyone based on her opinion, tbh.

But Jack Harkness and Sarah Jane Smith can both possibly survive multiple kills as well. And I wouldn't expect them to necessarily admit they know why.MovingPictures07 wrote:Now, to clarify, I'm not advocating that I think BR is bad necessarily, nor that we should vote people who survive NKs. At least the roleblocker is not a factor... And is there even a protector in this game?

1) The Master automatically survives three kill attempts and Cyber Controller survives all NK attempts until his entire team is decimated. Jack Harkness and Sarah Jane Smith only have a percentage chance to survive NKs at that. Consequently, if someone survives 2 NKs, it makes the former possibilities more likely than the latter. I am not saying anything is 100% conclusive here.
2) There is not an apparent protector, but there are baddie role blockers, so yes, something to consider.
3) I do not necessarily believe that either BR or Elo are either of those roles.
Linki with DF: I agree, which is exactly what I'm saying. But the more someone does survive, the more we should suspect there is a chance of the former possibilities.

Well, Jack Harkness and Sarah Jane would both know why they survived, and not be suspicious because of it... whereas the invincible baddies are another story. It's a pretty good balance, really, makes it harder for players to simply pigeonhole a survivor into one or the other.Black Rock wrote:I'm suspicious because I didn't know why I survived? Looking at the night post, I am inclined to believe that a roleblock on the Dalek did occur. The Dalek gets literally blocked, and they even made a point to say the "she hadn't even been aware of it".birdwithteeth11 wrote:...The Dalek managed to do a fairly good job of keeping on her trail however. Night 6: Wrong Caller. Please Hang Up and Try Again.
Everyone was intrigued by the results of Metalmarsh's death. Would it get them one step closer to finding The Master or not? Only time would tell.
The Cybermen were plotting who their next upgrade would be. They decided on Chris as being a worthy target. They even went so far as to booby-trap his room with explosive mines that were invisible to the naked eye. They felt they had come up with a clever enough solution to dispose of the unnecessary body and keep the brain relatively intact. But perhaps they ended up messing with a brain that was too clever. Because they watched, astounded, as Chris walked into his room and exclaimed, "What fool thought to put all these mines everywhere. What a nub." He immediately set to work disarming each and every one of them safely and efficiently. He crawled into bed, exhausted from the day, and drifted off into sleep. And having sweet dreams of the silly nubs who thought they could get rid of him so easily.
Strax, excited from his previous kill, decided to have another go at one tonight. He decided that Chris would be a most excellent and worthy piece of scum to cleanse humanely from his existence. He set off to find him, but almost accidentally walked into his room and in front of a bunch of Cybermen placing something in his room. Not wanting to go up against a much superior force (even though dying with such honor would be worthy of the most esteemed of the Sontaran race), he decided to bravely....return to fight another day with much better plans of what to do going forward.
No one has died.
It is now Day 7. You have 48 hours to lynch someone.

Re: Dr. Who Mafia - Day 7
Also, forgive me for forgetting this at the beginning of the game, but I just remembered something very important about one of the roles on the first page. I have updated that respective role with the additional information. I apologize for not including it sooner!

They would not. They would only survive the first kill.Dom wrote:Question: If someone had a onetime protection would they survive multiple kills on the same night?

Re: Dr. Who Mafia - Day 7
So, if the Dalek killer was roleblocked on Night 5, then that means that the Cyberman team knows the identity of one Dalek. I think that they would want to kill that Dalek as soon as they could.
I'm sure they'd love to get that Dalek lynched, and gain some Civvie cred from it, leaving their kill open for whatever purpose they may have.
So I thought we might see some movement, some "new suspicion" that came about after Night 5, maybe something weak. The beginning of a Cyber getting a Dalek lynched. So I compiled a little list of the suspicions stated during Day 6. There was a lot of Epig and MM discussion, which potentially drowned out other suspicions, but here they are.
Suspicions stated since Night 5 ended:
Chris > MP http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 970#p89970
Keys > MP http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 971#p89971
BR > MM http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 990#p89990
Keys > Chris http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 993#p89993 later, for reference: http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 232#p90232
Roxy > Epig http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 039#p90039 MM lynched as Secret role related: http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 383#p90383
S~V~S > Epig http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 077#p90077
MM > Dana http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 225#p90225, http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 352#p90352
Snow Dog > Roxy http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 309#p90309
Blooper > Dana http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 313#p90313
Elohcin > Dana http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 323#p90323
I felt a little like Keys as Cyber and Chris as Dalek seemed to fit the profile loosely, but now Chris was double-targeted, and I don't know if there's a Dalek that could do that.
Snow Dog to Roxy might work. Anyways, if you like the idea, please expand or fill in more details... I have to leave the computer for now.

I'll be the first to ask. Do you know how you survived two kill attempts LC?
