Day 7: A Wonderful New World
The tension was palpable as the four remaining players shut themselves in a small dining hall on the second floor to hash out a plan of action for the day. G-Man, of course, continued to communicate via picture, while Vomps remained mostly silent and noncommittal. This was a stark contrast from the impassioned cries of fingersplints and Golden, who argued their points forcefully.
The pressure-cooker situation was getting to them all, but they stayed as calm as they could and tried to reason through the problem. However, all too soon, the sunset could be seen outside their window. They all knew, as the dusky light filtered through a Dutch haze, that the sun's farewell would not be the only red seen in the room that Night. There would be blood shed here.
Finally, Vompatti and Golden could stand it no longer. They stood up and pointed guns at G-Man. "Stand still, Comrade!" They shouted in unison, and seized him by the arms. G-Man, clever man that he was, was prepared, and had greased his arms with butter before entering the room. He slipped their grip and bolted for the door.
They chased after, yelling, "Communist swine! You killed some of the brightest minds in human history! We will have vengeance!"
As G-Man ran, he burst out into defiant song, laughing hysterically. Whether he was merely frightened or had been overtaken by some communist mania, no one could discern.
He was rounding a corner, about to slide down the balustrade and dive for the front door, when a foot appeared from a small alcove covered in drapes. fingersplints, familiar with the many secret passages of the Hague, had beaten G-Man. He never saw the foot, and his last feeling as he descending the stairs was a delicious tingling in his tummy.
His pursuers sprinted after him, having heard a thud and a crunch that was all too familiar by now. Golden seized G-Man's head, and saw the light fade from his eyes just as the last sunlight faded from the sky. Golden, at Vomps' prompt, checked the dead man's wallet.
"What does it say?" Golden asked, and Vomps responded "Exactly that."
Golden looked up quizzically. "What do you mean, 'Exactly that.'? What does it SAY??
Vomps responded, "It says Say." The two hung their heads, knowing they had made a terrible mistake.
That night, two players slept soundly in their beds. A little too soundly, in fact, for the wine they had drunk that night had been tainted. Vompatti woke only a bit when someone barged into his room and muttered angrily, "You didn't see the red during all the weeks we had together. Well red will be the last thing you ever see!" Vomps' throat was the first of two throats slit that Night.
The next day, one player stepped out onto the terrace of the Hague, proud to announce a new redevelopment plan for all of Europe. "We will be instituting an 88% tax, the proceeds of which will go entirely to funding investments in technology! That is, of course, the only way to grow an economy on a per capita basis. And finally, I declare myself President for Life of Europe."
Golden's name seemed apt as he smiled dazzlingly into he numerous cameras, thrilled that his vision for a better society could finally become a reality.
G-Man has been lynched. He was Jean-Baptiste Say. Golden has won! He was Robert Solow. He and the other baddies will paint Europe red (in a purely ideological sense). Congratulations to the victors!

Wow. I can't believe it. And here I was yelling at my computer screen that you guys didn't lynch G-Man the past two cycles.
That is honestly the most disappointing loss I've ever suffered. That said, that is a sheer consequence of the insane amount of fun I had this game and how invested I was.
Well played, Golden. Truly. What a performance!
Thanks for the absolutely amazing game, Russ and Llama! And thanks to all of the RYMers as well as DDL for playing. You all played fantastic first games here.

G-Man, I'm still floored. Your behavior was so textbook mafia, I just cannot believe this flip. You were WIFOMing all over the place and I don't understand why you did everything that you did this game. I don't apologize for pursuing my suspicion, but I was obviously mistaken.

I want to thank all of the players for making this game amazing (and shattering the Speed Game posting record.) A special shout out to all the first time Syndicaters who were truly an asset.
Golden made an amazing comeback after having his team completely decimated early on. He excelled at item management and manipulating the thread though. Good game everyone.

This. G-Man basically created a situation where no townie in their right mind would want to lynh anyone else, specially not on lylo (in facts this is probably why Golden pushed for the sanmateo lynch so he could have G-man on lylo). He was acting more scummy than the entire bad team combined.
I give you kudos for the gargantuan amount of commitment yiu put to your image thing, tho. Great game, it was a pleasure playing with you. G-Man.

So, I guess the game was over because I had it won at that point. If it could have played out, I was NKing vomps, trying to convince splints to use her vote manipulation the next day, stopping the lynch, killing her that night, and if that still failed using my vote manipulations the day after. This lynch was really the key.
Thank you for a very well played game, guys. You made it incredibly tough for me, I've never had to work this hard as a mafia before.
TB was my fault. I thought she was Akerlof. But the rest of the kills were in the order that I determined on the first day I was in the game. MPs flip on splints meant he had some way of getting info. So did his "TB is not adam smith" statement. Plus his dogpee mafia team that was completely off base was too good to allow him the chance to change his mind.
TH had to be akerlof, and he had to go next. DDL went because I figured if JJ could use a NK protect that's the night he would use it (I so would have preferred to lynch you DDL). Then JJ, who I would have killed three days earlier if I could have, but I just couldn't.
Unfortunately, games like this screw up my civilian game for months, because everyone stops trusting me.
Thanks for being a team, Bass and Roxy! I'm sorry it didn't last long.

I was Adam Smith, yes, and I did get information on splints. I had just received a role check and I had to see if I was right about her. I went back and forth like 10 times between her and Roxy, since I really wanted to check Roxy, but I needed confirmation on splints.
Once I saw she was civ, I couldn't believe it. I knew I had to pull a 180, especially since she had tons of heat, thanks to me, and I tried to more subtly indicate my opinion of her as the Day progressed.
I felt bad about my blatant change, but at the same time, I kind of wanted to make it evident that I had information, as long as I could do it within the rules (and here's why).
I suspected since Day 1 that Turnip was the role checker and that's why I kept throwing heat his way, even though I really didn't suspect him at all ever. I did wonder a few times since I didn't want to fall into the same tinfoil trap I did during Champions, but I convinced myself this was different. And it was.
I pulled the role checker claim move during Day 4 because I knew people were suspecting Turnip was role checker and I was shocked he made it out of N3 alive with the TB kill instead. I thought if we could just keep him alive ONE more night, he could confirm my suspicion of G-Man or someone else. So I was hoping I'd get NKed N4.
Unfortunately, because I lost the singing contest, I didn't have enough items to buy a night protect, or I totally would have and used it N4.
I also killed Epi Night 1, obviously. I really, really thought he was bad.
My power worked randomly, I had no control over what power I received, and I didn't know who it belonged to. So Elo was all thread-based.

I also said "TB was not Adam Smith" since I was fearing that my claim for role checker wouldn't be bought and they'd NK Turnip on N4 anyway, and I panicked a bit. I really just was trying to bait the NK in whatever way I could.

And by "claim for role checker", of course, I mean within the boundaries of the rules -- using my real check on splints (two birds, one stone) as well as my claims to have a power role consistently.

MP, you went before TH because I knew where TH was going the next day, and I didn't believe he was going to rustle me before I killed him.
You, on the other hand - I wasn't 100% certain you were not the guy who could create btsc, and that you hadn't simply met Adam Smith and tragetted splints overnight that night. That's why you had to die first. In hindsight, I'm guessing that person is Sloonei or Epi.
(thanks for killing epi, by the way. My civilian self paved the way for my mafia self to win, in one sense).
