Re: Easter Mafia [DAY 1]

Jay shrugged, and the whole mafia game collapsed.
Well, I've spoken to this already, but I just don't like how the only notable thing she's done is suspect Jay (for an odd reason), not follow up that suspicion (even more suspect), and then refuse to engage with anyone and throw a vote onto another player. All of this is doubly suspicious given Elo's constant comments that she feels more engaged and comfortable in smaller games; so even if she is feeling mafia burnout, her behavior is bothersome.Marmot wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:40 pmI don't like Dizzy or Elohcin's votes, though Dizzy's I like less.M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:36 pmIt patently sucks, but how does it make Dizzy scum?JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:35 pm I hate Dizzy's vote. Why should I not hate Dizzy's vote?
It made my wagon 4-strong, and nobody else had more than 2 (not even sure there was a 2).
Why Elohcin? I just read through her ISO, and her vote is the only thing I find suspicious.
I disagree. Civilian motive is a chaotic civilian motive but the possibility exists nonetheless. I'm not saying Dizzy is town; I'm just saying it's basically NAI. And my gut weakly says it's too openly brazen to be a scum move.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:42 pmI don't think it's "illogical". It's nothing. Do you know of a civilian motive?
I'm not saying you shouldn't talk about it. That's misrepresentation.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:47 pmOf course they do. That doesn't mean we observe "dumb shit" in the thread and ignore it. If I don't talk about Dizzy's vote, what do you do about it?
I cannot fathom how I'm the most suspicious player to you in the game.
I probably agree, even if I don't trust him.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:48 pm If I have to I will probably vote for whoever I can to stop JJJ from getting lynched because I like his contributions and if he's town it would be a mclargehuge mistake.
I'm not telling you that you said we shouldn't talk about it. I'm telling you that you literally didn't talk about it other than to say it is "obviously throwaway". You didn't spend a moment considering anything beyond that lazy dismissal of suspicion -- obviously. A stance has to be made. Not every dumb move is a nefarious move. GTH I don't think it's nefarious.
Yeah, this is suspicious.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:53 pm Dizzy places a vote on the largest wagon in the poll.

Will you ever not find me suspicious? It's hard to take it seriously when you suspect me in every game we play. It's no wonder your track record has taken a crap lately if this is how you're playing as town.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:55 pm[VOTE: M Plus 7] aubergineM Plus 7 wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:54 pmLynch me then. Dizzy has apparently not become familiar with the content of the game and specifically expressed an intent to come back and contribute after a proper catch-up. The vote is therefore deemed by me to be baseless, a throwaway.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:56 pmTell me as concisely as you can why you were willing to dismiss Dizzy's vote as a "throwaway" vote when he put it on the player who was leading the tally already?
MacDougall had not done anything in this game to warrant batting cleanup or being called a heavy hitter.Marmot wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 7:24 amAnd yet you voted for Macdougall?Charlie Blackmon wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 10:36 pmCorrect. If JaggedJimmyJay is batting third, then Macdougall is your cleanup man. Why vote for him?
Tell me why a mafia Dizzy might do it, even if it's not what you believe.M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:59 pmDizzy has apparently not become familiar with the content of the game and specifically expressed an intent to come back and contribute after a proper catch-up. It will be particularly unfortunate and reckless AF if Dizzy doesn't come back before the deadline, but I don't see how it means Dizzy is mafia.
Dizzy is a mafia teammate of yours and Jay is a civilian who was well on his way to being lynched? That's a possible motive.M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:56 pmWill you ever not find me suspicious? It's hard to take it seriously when you suspect me in every game we play. I could definitely be wrong. I already explained how I felt he treated Elohcin and Quin this way. It's a gut interpretation of the way he is wording his content and handling other players in the game, making many definitive statements of various players fabricating content. He specifically threw that line of suspicion now to more players than the number of players that can be mafia. It consequently strikes me as if Jay is dismissing other players as insincere without fully considering whether they are mafia or town.
Okay, now I understand where you're coming from. That was unclear. Thanks for explaining.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:58 pmThere are two mafia-aligned implications, the former of which inspires my suspicion:
TMI -- you dismissed Dizzy's vote because you already knew it was innocent (I buy it)
Teammates -- you're protecting him (I don't think so)
Assuming you're talking about your suspicion of me, I did think it was, but I no longer think it is.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:59 pmYou're acting as though my suspicion is unfounded. Do you believe my suspicion is unfounded?

I mean, I guess the same reason, chaos? Plopping a vote on someone and then fucking off is pretty transparently anti-town either way; I just think it seems too much like low hanging fruit to make Dizzy mafia in this case. Could I be wrong? Sure. I'm just trying to prevent what I think could be a mislynch.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 6:00 pmTell me why a mafia Dizzy might do it, even if it's not what you believe.M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:59 pmDizzy has apparently not become familiar with the content of the game and specifically expressed an intent to come back and contribute after a proper catch-up. I'm conflicted; I don't know which it is. Right now I'm leaning the latter. And I'm sorry; I spoke out of frustration, by the way. You know I admire your talent and effort as a mafia player more than pretty much anyone else.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 6:02 pm MP:
You've just said the following things in the space of 10 minutes:
JJJ doesn't give a fuck about anyone's alignment.
JJJ: enjoy being wrong, this is why your track record is shit lately as town.
You can't have both. Which one is it?
There's nuance.
Also in a PoE I could narrow down Dizzy to my final couple players. Regardless of where the vote came from, she's done nothing to make me think she's a civilian.M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 6:06 pmI mean, I guess? is for "oh wow I'm an idiot"
