Arete has been eliminated. They were the student who begrudgingly raised their hand to answer a question in class each time everyone else was too scared or bored to try.
1. A Mafia Championship participant has received a mafia role card for their qualifier. Their first post in mafia chat reads as follows:
“Okay, here’s how we’re going to win this game, folks. We’re going to float around in a state of relative normality, and then on exactly the sixteen-hundred tenth post one of you will accidentally make a mafia chat post in the game thread. This post will out another member of our team and clear a town player by extension. At end game we will win by eliminating the town player we cleared by vote.”
Would construal level theory anticipate something like this? Explain.
2. The broad notion of “victim blaming” can be associated with which bias(es) according to attribution theory?
3. If a person’s first and most immediate response to criticism is to be receptive and apologetic, would attribution theory anticipate this to be the most likely scenario? Explain.
4. Why might such high-level research questions of human cognition as those explored by CLT and attribution theory be difficult to assess from the standpoint of science?

Night 6 has ended.
bronana has been killed. He was the student that stays in the classroom 20 minutes overtime just to shoot the cognitive scientific shit.
Huh. I started reading the game from scratch, cause now I'm rah and hmph.
So far I'm clearing SPF.
You may ask about it later.

visor actually the main thing i'm still kinda hung up on even though we talked about it a bit yesterday
is how drastically differently dya handled you than how they handled me
like they were kicking and screaming at all of my pressure on them and barely batted an eye at yours
and that's the kind of thing that strikes me as w/w, like how i treated mac's pressure on me on d1 in the perc crossover game that just ended
dyachei wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 8:44 pm
maybe stop trying to tell me how to play a light fucking game
Someone tell me if dya has any kind of history taking criticism to their wolf game personally
Or I could just
Hey @dyachei
Do you take criticism to your wolf game personally?
I don't take criticisms personally, if that's what you're asking? I do however hate being told how to play mafia. It's a pet peeve of mine
Pet peeve regardless of alignment?
yes regardless of alignment
This interaction is real bad.
Why use the perspective of "does Dya have history of taking criticism to thei wolf game personally"? Why not their game in general or even their town game? Usually outbursts like Dya's are read more towny, so why go to the question of "
I have pretty major issues with this.
That said, I want to thread a little bit carefully. Cause my philosophy is - town say scummy shit all the time. Wolves rarely say truly towny shit. And before I started rereading I came to the conclusion that c4 should be town, but honestly, that seems weak now.
Vulgard wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 8:12 amI'm reading c4 and I kinda see why people are townreading this. The read on SPF looks like it's coming from a place of real solving. The pointed accusation that SPF is asking questions for the sake of asking questions. Implicitly wondering if dya's a wolf based on their comment about being told how to play FM. Those look real.
Also there's this. It doesn't stand out as much as when Vulgard said Dya was "repping" a read. But it certainly is a word choice saying that c4's thoughts look real, rather than, yeah I don't even know what else, but that they are real. I'll try to see whether Vulgard has yikes wording towards others too.

@nutella In this post Dya is challenging c4's wolf read of SPF. c4's read is expressed confidently and based on meta. So if v!c4 comes in and is like "SPF is a wolf, I have a real read and I have meta and I can read her" kind of vibes, I highly doubt that Dya's second ever meaningful post is going to be a straight up defence like this. Almost everyone I see lean towards not defending mates early on and are rather (too much imo) distancy instead.

what prompted you to switch from voting c4 to voting outed wolf? was it because of the fact that he voted you? i'm just wondering because this suspicion against outed wolf seems like something that you've been considering a lot, but you came into the day sounding like c4 was your primary suspect. could you just walk me through your thought process a bit here regarding outed wolf?

his vote may have contributed to a general feeling from his other sod posts that he's faking town perspective, but nah i was thinking about it from the moment i saw zack died instead of me and have not been set on c4 at all

It's between c4 and Visor for me. I'm hoping to find one of them town, cause I don't like having more than one suspect when there's no more than one mafia.
I don't think the bussing of Dya starts in a way that is clearing for Visor. He asks Sunbae "talk to me about Dya" and Sunbae basically says "Dya is scummy" to which Visor replies "Yeah, Dya is scummy". And then I haven't gotten very much further with it. There are certain points that looks town for Visor as well, or rather, are bizarre things as mafia. I don't know. I don't find any clearing interaction between flipped scum and Visor yet.

The interaction just drops off after this. And I don't understand why v!c4 would assume it being taking criticism for their wolf game specifically rather than just their game in general.

No, but for real. I do think that is pretty clearing for SPF. I've rarely seen that kind of early interaction from w/w. Similar to how I've rarely seen wolf piggy back of other wolf with "exactly" - how I cleared Zack.
I also don't want to think and just want to run with it tbh.
