@DH, I'm really liking where you are going with the idea that Light did not kill Aces :rip:. The targets and timing are certainly different. I have been doing a little bit of research and I'm thinking that maybe the note passed from a more experienced player to a less experienced player.

Day 5: L Loves Cakes, but Hates the Cake Maker

MADE: L thinks you're bad.
TURNIP HEAD: Say it ain't so, Elo.
ELOHCIN: I don't know why L thinks that! He's wrong!

Sockface was about to write Elohcin's name in the Death Note.

ELOHCIN: Don't do it!!! I'll bake you a cake, L, whoever you are! Please!!! Just tell them you're wrong about me!!!

Sockface wrote down her name. Roughly 40 seconds later, Elochin collapsed to the ground, dying of a heart attack. Somewhere among the players, L was smiling. Cake was tempting, he thought to himself, but there's nothing as tasty as justice.

Elohcin has been lynched. She was Kiyomi Takada.

It is now Night 5.

You have 24 hours to send in your night actions.

Mine was a joke-y hope. His was flat out saying he's already decided how the next lynch should go down and that it's obvious. Specifically saying the lynch should run on autopilot is what concerns me.

I'm pretty pleased with that lynch result; definitely encourages trust in L and in the freedom MP is giving him to reveal the results of his investigation. It's not a Kira per se, but reducing the options for Team Kira is certainly desirable.

Regarding my earlier post on "autopilot" lynches, I admit that was a flippant and too-strong choice of wording. I do feel somewhat strongly about trying another lynch on TH, but on rereading the roles, I guess we have to wait until we're sure another Death Note has entered the game. I think he's hinting at being Shinigami but may actually be Higuchi (who is invincible until he gets his note).

Notable to me is Zomba's strong reaction to MM after this latest result. Just like with the Snowman lynch, she's really trying to claim civvie cred.

True, on the flip side, if L keeps 'outing civvies', it brings Kira closer to his objective.

Story time!

Once upon a time in Dead Like Me mafia, I was the serial killer role, and I had a unique twist. On Night 1, I had to choose all my targets for the next 4 nights. If all 4 of those kills went through, on Night 5 I would get to kill 4 players at once.

With a bit of luck, all my 4 kills went through, and I was looking forward to the big payout.

On Day 5 however, LC was getting lynched. He was a baddie, and with his last dying breath, he outed me as the serial killer. He was completely bluffing, he had no idea what my role was. He was talking out of his ass completely. But he said it with such certainty that most players believed him even though he was lynched as a baddie only moments later.

There was a civvie role in the game that could "steal" a player's power and use it for themselves. The player with this role was bigsimpsin, and I think somehow everyone knew he was this role? and of course he picked me that night. I had just been labeled a serial killer, why wouldn't he?

He killed 4 people at once, confirmed that I was the killer, and I promptly got lynched right after LC.

I was so sad.

The moral of the story is that fake info dumping is a strategy that can absolutely work (sometimes with hilarious results depending on your perspective), but only if real infodumping is also allowed. It's a tricky subject to tackle, I can see both sides of it.
