I'll also have a period of limited activity coming up (next weekend vacation in Gatlinburg, woo!), so I should pass on the prefect thing as well. Though I have been spending an inordinate amount of time on Internet politics groups, so maybe I am qualified? :P

So many unread rules. :ponder:
12. Votes are not changeable. In addition, you will have two votes to cast in every poll. Submit both votes at the same time, or you will lose your second vote. If you cast more than two votes, none of your votes will be counted. Self-voting is permitted.

I looked at this post for 15 minutes and couldn't think of anything.

That's probably more time and effort than anyone else has spent for this.
You sound prefect for the position.

There. Did it. Yes.

oh, yeah. Figure I should put this out there because it's important. I am currently in the middle of Marching Band Camp, which will last from now until the end of august. I will try to keep up with this game, but please bear in mind that I will be gone for large portions of the day, and that I have summer work to finish in addition to band.

One of my votes will definitely be going to JJJ, that's just a no-brainer imo. Gonna wait a bit to decide on the other, but will probably go for someone who wants it/promotes themselves.

Agreed, JJJ.

Hey, I REALLY like the idea of the "whoever does ____ first, gets my votes" posts. They prevent people from finding excuses to give votes to baddie teammates. So I'm gonna do one too, and would suggest others do the same (even though it's an itsy bit late for a few).

The first two people to post pictures or emojis of platypi earn my votes.

I'd like to push my name forward as someone who'll be active and wouldn't mind the prefect post.

The phrase prefect mainly just reminds me of Harry Potter. I promise that, if elected, I won't turn into a Percy.

Fair warning, I'm in the midst of hosting my own game, interviewing for a new job and applying for others, and packing up my apartment and moving for the next two week. So yeah, don't expect a ton here at first from me. I'll do my best but frankly I am quieter at the beginning and get more engaged as the numbers thin out. It's just kind of how I work, and given everything going on, it's not likely to be any different here.

As for prefect, well I'll just quote some Douglas Adams' Hitchiker's Guide...

"It is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it... anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."

Therefore I am voting for timmer and nutella because they said they didn't want it.

Well not to be a Debbie downer, but all it takes is a quick chat in BTSC to say "I'm posting the next player to post in Sanskrit will get my vote"

Not that that is happening, but I'm just being devil's advocate here .

Honestly the fact JJJ is such an active civ is one reason for me to put him on my "do not trust" list, not the opposite.

Specially sice I've seen him admit he tries hard to make his baddie meta as civ-looking as possible.

Judge people based on this game, not on how much of a good civ they tend to be.

I dig.

While I don't think it will be practical to form an "informed" perspective of anyone in these 48 hours of Day 0, I have so far withheld my own votes to at least get a first look at people before giving them the keys to my car. In that regard we seem to be in a similar place.

I disagree with this, people with BTSC can easily plan it ahead of time, get the pictures, and then post it. This could just as easily help the mafia since when one player flips the defense could be "It was random since they posted X."

Hello ole sports! I am campaigning for a Prefect position!

Who am I? I am a player in Mafia who boldly goes where no man has gone before. Every game, I will spout things from my head orifice that has never been said, nor ever should be said.
I'm obsessive, and even when I don't have the proper time to commit to things, I will do my best to stay involved!

What do I stand for? Listen, I'll tell you what I don't stand for. Liars. Purple People Eaters. Slugs. Cherry Tomatoes. Especially Cherry Tomatoes.

"I'm not crazy"- the voices tell me to divulge this information so as to develop a sense of trust among the masses. You might hear my detractors push this element against me. To them I say: Would you rather jump out a moving train or gargle boiling McDonalds coffee?

Anyway fam, I don't know what the prefect role entails, but I am perfectly capable of whatever the role throws at me. I've sprained my neck while skiing; I got a paper cut once; I've established dominance over my neighbor's cat; I've been mislynched by most of the players in this game before- so I know firsthand what it takes to pererserve through adversity.

That's my pitch.

Not exactly. We want our bad metas to look like our civ metas, but a lot of us have civ metas not as thorough or pro-active as they can be, so the baddie counterpart to those metas are easier to make. We don't look that good all the time, so when we actually are bad, people don't detect it that easily.

But Jay? Like you said, he is the perfect civ. He is the town leader, the pro-active guy, the king of TL;DRs. And he tries to make his baddie meta look exactly like that (Ive never seen it myself, but he has described it that way). And that makes him a more dangerous baddie than most. Its harder to pull that metaboff successfully, but if he does it, we have a problem.

So I tend to be paranoid and avoid easily trustingnplayers like him. A good parallel to that is Marco from my forum, who plays a similar way.
