Dallon Redwarlock has arrived

I shall sit at the table of love, as love for thy neighbor is the greatest commandment, and from a universal love for all things will come peace and happiness.

Hi Guys :)

I got a message from Rox, and bea is at work and can't post to the players at this time, so she asked me to do it.

First, Roxy IS OK. She has been hit by a car in a parking lot. She is bruised up and hurting, and they are keeping her overnight at the hospital for observation, but she will be OK. But she will be absent for a day or two, and bea has a psycho work schedule, so things may move a bit slowly in here.

Lets all send Roxy thoughts of Peace, Love, Happiness & Healing and she will be with you as soon as she can be :daisy:

Roxy, very glad to hear you're not seriously hurt. I and the other lost underworld gargoyles will be praying for your recovery.

And Shand, that chart was great! We gargoyles would be pleased to offer you a job charting unexplored bits of the lost underworld. Unless it's we that are lost and not the underworld itself, in which case we could still use a cartographer.

Thanks for stepping in for me SVS. I actually have tomorrow off and work late on Monday so things shouldn't slow up too much. That said, I just now got in from work so I'm not quite sure what time I'll be up tomorrow but once I do get up I shall be around most of the day. Shand - I must also chime in with the awe of the seating chart. It is truly a thing of beauty! Makes me want to decorate the heck out of those tables now. Nice tall centerpieces so you can maintain visual contact across the table...pretty napkins, charger plates, matching water and wine gobblets..... I had real sillz at that sort of thing. :)

OMG - I *just* now realized! You even sat me on the correct side of the table!!!!!! I am left handed so I always have to sit at the far end so I don't bump elbows whilst I'm eating. :fiesta: :faint: :notworthy:

Someone in another game I was playing on another forum had to do that as a punishment or something and the effect it had was sort of similar to the way the page looks when someone posts a giant image. You had to use the bottoms scroll to read posts. Way annoying. But that would work if maybe we only run together three or four words at a time. Easier to read too. Good idea :)

Yes, a couple of words at a time or even a sentence at a time, whatever works best. I think this will definitely minimize damage from rumpel until we can lynch him.

I wouldn't mind a little bit of ogre love, if you know what I'm saying. ;)

I will be going with the Table of Peace. In hopes that we can have calm and serenity and love of our fellow man/elf/troll/whatever....before this turns into a bloodbath.

Also, I totally support this idea once the game actually starts. I think keeping it to a few words at a time would make it a bit easier though.

Yay Nederlands!

We could use pretty much any language we want, theoretically, and have people Google Translate it, right? It's a lot of work, but it might be worth it to stop Rumpelstiltskin controlling lynches.

Google translate hasn't worked well for me when I'm just trying to tranlate things native speakers say into English (it gets words in the wrong place and many times garbles the message so that its unintelligible) but if we were translating the message through google and then translate it back using google it would probably do fine. I'm willing to try that if it's what the group wants to do.

Also, how do you all know that you are elves and other things? I googled my name and got nothing. :sigh:

Good idea, using the same program on both ends. I agree that's less likely to lose stuff in translation. And it's listed as your location. You're vicerine of the yellow gypsies, for example. Who knew they even had vicerines?

Dilan Bluemoss would like to observe that the Google Translate method, in addition to being clumsy and cumbersome, will do little to prevent Rumpelstiltskin from carrying out his mandate, as he can simply select a frequently used morpheme from whatever dialect is being employed. Unpredictability is the key.
