Sorry, mission = trial. I’ve played like 750+ games of Avalon and it’s too ingrained in my vocab. And when I say “fail” I really mean “not guilty”

DharmaHelper When did you play Avalon online? I played there a lot in 2014. That’s the site that brought me to mafia and this site, and I don’t remember who it was that did so

I played a bunch, but I can't remember an exact time frame of when it was. It was a while ago so it could've been 14, 15, 16, round about there.

Wish we had a Perceval type power role for the civs. Right now we’re all in the dark.

I feel like this game is stacked against the civs in a pretty big way. Especially without a hammer mission.

Yeah that's one thing i noted when reading things over ,the lack of the usual power roles. Hopefully we'll be alright tho.

Quick note to EdJou, you can access the "vote" tag that the other players are using by clicking on the "Full Editor" button, selecting the "vote" grey box from the line of grey boxes, and writing APPROVE or DISAPPROVE inside the brackets.

It's a little overcomplicated, so it's not obligatory, but I wanted to explain why the hell everyone's saying the word "aubergine."

I think it's unnecessary and kinda dumb, but I want to go with the format that the majority of the players are comfortable with.

Because I'm a grumpy old man and change is terrifying.

And also it used to be a much more offensive color and the word aubergine was offensively large.

It's better now, but again, I'm an old grumpy fucker.

One other thing I remember from my days playing Avalon/Resistance is that the early rounds are pretty crucial. Pass/Fail scenarios tend to snowball in the later rounds.

It's really more for mafia. Because our polls don't keep track of vote order, it puts the word aubergine in there in order to make an easily searchable term that shouldn't come up in mafia. Makes it easier to identify vote order.

It's tough cuz I don't want to spill too much of the beans and give criminals a leg up but it would be beneficial to get as many team nominations as possible.
Please clarify what you mean here.

Linki: Would anyone care if I turn off the linki for this thread, this is freaking annoying...
Seeing who people put on their team is very helpful, The more Head Jurors we can get to nominate teams, the more we can learn about who may be Criminal.
Oh boy it's Fire Emblem all over again XD

In all seriousness though I've also played The Resistance and it's prreeettty nuts. There's gonna be so many levels of wifom up in this bitch. I agree with DH's idea of cycling through head jurors to get information, even though that information may be indirect via wifom -- in fact in light of what Golden said about the planned disapproval skewing people's choices, it's pretty tricky if we want to disapprove everyone and try to analyze their picks. We could try it, or we could approve at some random time to throw them off.

Seems like a good way for Mafia to get Civs on their side with some sweet and clever words. Beware agreeing to anything to someone who assures you they're Civ.

In normal Resistance IIRC approval/disapproval votes are instant and until revealed, secret, so doing it in the style of a lynch vote is another disadvantage for us, since Criminals I guess could either wait to vote, not vote at all, or vote based on whichever way the wind blows.

of course, but it could add another level of analysis. also they might take advantage of any alliances they had in food chain to leverage that trust

We can wait to vote too. This allows us to look at the flow of votes in the thread, see who is deciding to vote, when, and why. There are advantages.

It is a legit strategy that you gain more information from team votes (who approves, who disapproves) than you do from running a mission. But at some point we will have to actually pass one to start solving who's good and who's bad.
Part of the reason I've disapproved twice is that I don't know who to trust yet, and if I'm not on the mission I especially don't trust it.
