I don't quite understand the Syndicator to win it all thing. Let's say the following happens for all scoring other than that specific award:

1. Player 1 - 100 points
2. Player 2 - 98 points
3. Player 3 - 89 points
4. Player 4 - 78 points
etc

Let's say Player 2 correctly predicted that Player 1 would win it all, but Player 1's prediction was incorrect. This means Player 2 gets 5 points, and totals at 103 -- enough to take over first place.

But then Player 2 wins it all, meaning their original prediction was then wrong, so they don't get the 5 points. But then Player 1 wins, so their prediction was right, so they...

There's that, and also I think this part should just be for fun. It puts people who haven't watched football for 4 years at a bigger disadvantage so I'm thinking of doing the main thing for the score predictions and this could be a separate thing. so 2 different scores.

Ok, so I have decided to get rid of points in Phase 1 because things can get messy. They're just for fun --- to see how close to those predictions we stayed in our match predictions throughout the competition and whose initial predictions was closest. but I'll give some extra points for the correct winner predicted, 5 extra points to everyone who predicts the 2018 World Cup winner.

I'll update the rules soon. please don't hate me, this is the first time I host one of these on a forum based platform. I usually just play them.

What's more, if they'd done that, they wouldn't have left us having to beat Peru to qualify (we'd have had Chile), and New Zealand would have beaten Chile and be in the World Cup right now, losing to France, Denmark AND Australia, so Argentina can lose in the group round and I'll be fine with that.

Everyone predicting Germany to win are taking the easy way out.

a country hasn't won 2 consecutive world cups since Brazil in 1962. and before that, only once by Italy in the 30s. I believe if there is a God.......he won't fucking let Germany win this year. Yuck.

I feel this is the world cup in which dunia loses faith and becomes an atheist.

I agree. That’s really why I backed Belgium over Brazil.

I think Brazil probably will win, but there’s definitely options out there for a new winner. Even a new finalist would be grand.
