I've been meaning to listen to these guys for like, the last decade, so THANK YOU for forcing them upon me. What the fuck. This is like the best kind of bluegrass. Excellent musicianship all around, live recording, a fucking beast on the bass (Victor Wooten strikes again)

I'm glad you liked a few of my songs, seems like when I took the cat seriously I did fairly well

. A first and second finish I pretty dope.
Having ridiculous submissions is what makes walrsuses fun though.
Hope you're well

I. Huh. Hmm. I don't know. I hope it grows on me. Ok, it did grow on me a bit. The energy in this song is kinda iinfectious, and you can really feel the manic/panic in his voice (the rising background synths help). This song's catfit partially suffers because it actually came out in 2018 though.

I don't love this. It's got a psychedelic feel (hit or miss for me), and the vocals have a weird soft, rap-like vibe. Is that accurate? I dunno. The combination just doesn't do it for me thought.

This song sounds really fluid, and like a fun marriage of rap and danceable rhythms. I don't really care for it though. It's got teen romance anime closing credits vibes.

This song is mildly amusing, but otherwise I'm not really into it. It feels like a B-side or demo track or something, which I imagine is really interesting if you're into Kesha, but I'm not.

I really like the ambience. I don't care for the vocals. They're so sensual, it feels slightly intrusive on my earspace and I forget that it's music. Buy me dinner first at least!

This song overall? Meh. The instrumentation isn't very interesting to me. The refrain feels kinda similar. Her rapping is pretty fucking impressive. That is easily the best part of the song, and it carries it hard.

This is my first exposure to the artist called Dua Lipa. I'm glad I opted to try this first on a speaker (instead of headphones), because it's kinda groovy. It's go a little bit of a generic pop sound that bugs me, but the underlying groove is still nice.

So, this is a transcribed version of a jazz fusion song by the artist Tigran Hamasyan. I've heard of neither of these people. And while this is enjoyable, I really want to check out the original (and come back to this again after).

This technically came out in 2018, so not quite a catfit, but close. Anyway. Great stuff. Beepbeep boopboop (but really fast this time). The vocals aren't appealling, but they fit the overall monotonic vibe of the song. This person subbed a Spotify link, so I had to grab a Youtube one to replace it, but it's basically the same studio version.

Mmmm, jazz orchestra. I like the title to this album/track, as it does really get the imagination going with the music. I wish it had a little more jazz and a little less orchestra. Given that every planet exists on this album, did you intentionally sub your anus?

Thanks for the Bon Iver sub, I need to check them out. The production on this track is really interesting, the way it cuts in and out at times. It's also like, not clean or fluid and intentionally a little messy. I like that factor.

I like this, quite a bit. I listened to this album back in September, but that was well after I received this sub, so it still gets New Bonus. I'm impressed by the female singer, I think she does the growling vocals too, which I honestly don't think I've ever heard from a woman before.

At first this just kinda grated on my ears, but it slowly grew on me. The intermittent contributions of the various istruments is actually kinda amazing, and offered a fine way of highlighting each of them uniquely. The tape-like quality was nice. V nice.

This reminds me of some Devin Townsend stuff I've heard and liked. Very wall-of-sound. Heavy guitars, slow, permeating keyboards/synths. Slow-paced vocals that fill the space. I really like a lot of metal that incorpoates electronic elements, and this song succeeds that that.

Thanks for this one Epi. Happy (belated) Birthday Mongoose!!! I really enjoyed this song, both for the wonderfully orchestrated and light nature of the song. This has similar vibes to early Barenaked Ladies and what I love about them. Soft and subtle, with some funny, tongue-in-cheek lines tossed in. It helps that I know both the artist and the subject of this song personally. Thanks Rob! <3

Fleet Foxes is yet another band that I've unforgivingly forgotten about and not listened to at all. That will change! I love the percussion on this song, especially when it quiets down to a whisp-- Nope never mind, the piano wants a turn to add some intricate progressions. This rules!

The lyrics/verses feel a little contrived, but WOW do I love her voice. I feel like I've heard this artist somewhere/somehow before, but I don't recall where. I do like it, and it doesn't hurt me. This is so beatiful. She can pluck my eyebrows with her grandmothers antique tweezers.

So. I subbed this to Nanook's walrus. I received 0 platypus. I was sad. Fuck that, this is getting 9 platypi. I love this song. I love the occasional jarring piano chords being played to emphasize the song. I love the cadence. The conversational manner of the vocals, and I fucking adore the theme of this song: patriarchy and it's stranglehold on much of our society.

Ok. Wow. I have listened to this song like, at least 50 times in the last couple months. I came across this album recently and freaking loved it!!! Enough to sub this track to JJJ's walrus even. This has all the things I love about Talking Heads, but it is not the Talking Heads. Similar guitar tones, bass tones. But they add the length and song variance that Talking Heads never did strive for, and I love it. The entire second half off the song just grabs my ears and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes. PERFECT!

Oh that percussion rules!! I'm digging this sub right off the bat. And those synths that eventually creep in. OH MY FUCKING GOD!! I can't get enough of this song. I wish it were twice as long tbh, this could totally have kept doing the same thing for another 10 minutes and I would've just stayed lost in it.

I really did!
You definitely hit me with the nostalgia with Terrapin Station, that was one of my favorite songs 10 years ago or so, and I still love it. Polyphia I hadn't heard of until bwt subbed it early on in the walrus, but I liked some of their music, in particular the song you subbed.
Slothrust is probably the one that I was most excited about that you subbed. I hadn't heard of them at all before, and I really liked the ambience in that one.
Thanks again for subbing, I hope you're doing well. <3
