I wonder, if we have the opportunity to check out other fight clubs, if the various parties in this game will use this strategically. As I understand it, we've got got Project Mayhem people, and policemen around. Would they use this poll for positioning? Something else? Definitely, the numbers could get all messed up, if we assume that they all started off roughly equal in numbers. Imagine one fight club with 3 people, and another with 14, lol?
Indeed, how would it work if everyone left for another city and there was only one person in a thread. That would leave them no one to fight anyway. Perhaps we pose the question to the host...

MP, are we going to be able to move to the city of our choice in this poll?

Timmer, what if the result of the poll that gets the most votes is the thread that the loser of their fight will die? In which case, I definitely don't want to risk choosing this city, lol.

Unfurl, they were all mentioned in one specific scene in the movie. When they were smashing car headlights and discussing new fight clubs popping up.

As for checking out other fight clubs, how are you spreadsheet people going to handle this, lol? Someone needs to keep track of who is where and when, and who moves and stays. Not me, mind you, I've never managed to keep notes on a mafia game for more than a day without getting a headache, but I know some of you are adept at it!

I'm eager to see what MP says about the question to him above. "check out" could mean we get to see the other club's fight and see who wins or something. Or, it could mean we actually transfer. I'm inclined to think we won't all be moving around, that would be painful for Alex...

SD, you make a good point, lol! I will vote for whichever option you do to ensure we don't somehow kill ourselves!

I tend to make spread sheets,
But I have not made a spread sheet for this game, and will most like not as there are too many players and I dont want to loose my mind :omg:
As long MP keeps posting the poll, we will able to keep track at least who is been in this place

I'm no spreadsheeter, and not likely to start doing it in a game with nearly forty people in it. How would you be able to collate information on the other threads when you are not in it? You would be relying on information from other people I would think, even if we do get to move around.

This could get very messy, lol. But if this is the case, we get to interact with different people, which would be helpful. It seems to me the fastest way for a civ victory would be to eliminate Tyler Durden ASAP.

Finding Tyler Durden, feels like finding a needle in the hay at this moment,

Yes it is like finding a needle in a haystack. But honestly, civs are all like Indy roles right now. They don't care which side wins as long as they are still alive. Unless I am looking at the win conditions wrong. So there is not much to lose by looking for him I guess.

I'm fine with everyone doing whatever they want to do personally. I will likely vote for somewhere other than here on the off chance that the vote chooses which of the fight losers dies, lol. Since we have no idea how this works yet, better safe than sorry until we see it in action at least once.

Seems like it would be very difficult to keep a ss in a game where you have no idea what is going on in other threads. Good luck with that. I'm thinking I will vote for New Castle, just because I don't want risk voting for here on the off chance that it will lynch the loser of our fight...

I voted for one of the options, I'm with SD about protecting ourselves, jic. So I'm curious about how to handle the narrator role. I understand the logic of hoping to get rid of Tyler Durden. But, considering that in the film, the narrator *is* Tyler Durden in a sense, would killing Durden turn the narrator into something different? Any guesses/theories?

@MP, and maybe Epignosis, I'm not sure if this is important, but I have the option to edit my posts, which isn't normally there. I'm not sure if there is a problem with the settings for the thread or maybe you guys didn't care about it. I felt you should know, though, in case you want to tweak the settings. :noble:

Also, some of the roles interest me in their vague-ity. For instance, what does it mean in the policemen descrip about "unrecruited policemen?" Are some roles not yet policemen but will be later on? Also, the roles seem to describe Project Mayhem as something that doesn't exist at the start of the game, with mention of "when project mayhem begins" etc. Does that mean that, assuming Tyler Durden starts it, that if he were to die first thing that the whole game would be over? This just adds to the point that finding him would be great!

I used the narrator and tyler for a role in a game that I hosted, and it was the same player, just they had different abilities and winning condition every even or odd period, but in this game it looks like there are two players

No idea how is gonna work, but the narrator does end up sort of getting rid of tyler at the end of the movie, so Im guessing the narrrator needs to get rid of tyler here too

it says in the first page
Narrator – Wins when Tyler Durden is dead. (Secrets)
but they also said
Tyler Durden Has anonymous BTSC with Narrator for a specified period of time.
so if they have btsc but in the winning condition it says narrator needs tyler dead, makes not much sense imo, unless there is to make some sort of deal?

Im guessind tyler is gonna be a very powerfull role, not very easy to find and kill, I understood he is gonna be recruiting people to project mayhem, and very likely will start soon, probably already has started, I dont think the host will not give him an early advantage start from a game mechanics point of view
So Im guessing if tyler dies, his recruit will take over him

No idea about what the "unrecruited policemen?" means

Yeah, you as well! I can't see Alex lynching four players a day, so it is much more likely this does not in and of itself decide a lynch. If there even is one. Hard to say when it comes to Alex.

Also, I forget to mention that the way I read that in recruited policemen thing was that any police not recruited by Tyler. Meaning they would not be immune to be recruited. It is an interesting dynamic to bring into a BTSC group and it also would line up with the storyline.

Night 1: The Mayhem Begins

The fight concluded. A winner has been declared.

Meanwhile...

The back door opens and Tyler brings the store's clerk out at gunpoint, forces him to his knees. Narrator follows, freaked. Tyler points the gun at the Clerk.

NARRATOR: "On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero."

CLERK: "Please... don't..."

TYLER: "Give me your wallet."

The Clerk fumbles his wallet out of his pocket and Tyler snatches it. Tyler pulls out his driver's license.

TYLER: "Raymond K. Hessel. 1320 SE Benning, apartment A. A small, cramped basement apartment."

RAYMOND: "How'd you know?"

TYLER: "They give basement apartments letters instead of numbers. Raymond, you're going to die."

Tyler rummages through the wallet.

TYLER: "Is this a picture of Mom and Dad?"

RAYMOND: "Yesssss..." Raymond shutters out of fear.

TYLER: "Your mom and dad will have to call kindly doctor so-and-so to dig up your dental records, because there won't be much left of your face."

RAYMOND: "Please, God, no..."

Raymond begins to weep, shoulders heaving.

NARRATOR: "Tyler..."

TYLER: "An expired community college student ID card. What did you used to study, Raymond K. Hessel?"

RAYMOND: "S-S-Stuff."

TYLER: "'Stuff.' Were the mid-terms hard?"

Tyler rams the gun barrel against Raymond's temple.

TYLER: "I asked you what you studied."

NARRATOR: "Tell him!"

RAYMOND: "Biology, mostly."

TYLER: "Why?"

RAYMOND: "I... I don't know..."

TYLER: "What did you want to be, Raymond K. Hessel?"

Raymond weeps and says nothing. Tyler cocks the gun. Raymond gasps.

TYLER: "The question, Raymond, was 'what did you want to be?'"

NARRATOR: "Answer him!"

RAYMOND: "A veterinarian!"

TYLER: "Animals."

RAYMOND: "Yeah ... animals and s-s-s ---"

TYLER: "Stuff. That means you have to get more schooling."

RAYMOND: "Too much school."

Tyler shoves Raymond's wallet back into Raymond's pocket.

TYLER: "Would you rather be dead?"

RAYMOND: "No, please, no, God, no!"

Tyler moves the gun right between Raymond's eyes.

RAYMOND: "NOOOOO!"

Tyler uncocks the gun, lowers it.

TYLER: "I'm keeping your license. I know where you live. I'm going to check on you. If you aren't back in school and on your way to being a veterinarian in six weeks, you will be dead. Get the hell out of here."

Raymond staggers to his feet, heads down an alleyway. Narrator and Tyler watch Raymond flee, then Tyler looks at Narrator.

NARRATOR: "I feel sick."

TYLER: "Imagine how he feels."

Tyler brings the gun to his own head, pulls the trigger -- CLICK. Empty.

NARRATOR: "I don't care, that was horrible."

Tyler walks away.

TYLER: "Tomorrow will be the most beautiful day of Raymond K. Hessell's life."

Narrator watches Tyler go.

TYLER: "His breakfast will taste better than any meal he has ever eaten.

Narrator turns to look the direction Raymond ran. He finally turns back, following after Tyler.

Spacedaisy has won the fight. timmer has not been seriously injured.

This is a lot to keep up with. I mean, there were a few pages of posts in my last thread. There are two pages of posts in this thread and I have just joined it, obviously. If I try to read back in every thread I join, I think my head may explode by Day 4. I think I will just go with the flow for now. I believe I am the only one in here that came from my last thread. We ended up only voting one person to fight Day 1. Are we supposed to vote for two?

@Elo I still think that overall there won't be much to read. If there were 38 players in one thread, we probably would have had 10+ pages on Day 1.

But yes, there will be more to read at a time.

Day 3: Event

The citizens of Delaware and New Jersey were shocked.

A man by the name of DisgruntledPorcupine was killed in a "fight club" last night in Delaware City. People were outraged. The police went into panic mode. Now they really wanted to catch this Tyler Durden fellow and the members of the so-called "Project Mayhem".

"I think it's about time we hired a private investigator", mused the police chief. The others agreed.

It is still Day 3. You have a bit less than 40 hours to apply for the private investigator position!! Only civilians may qualify.

To apply, PM me with all the reasons you feel you are best qualified for the position.
