Oh damn, my role was so cool. I was already planning what I'd do with it.

Well, the other roles are cool too, so I guess it's okay.

Ok, second set of role PMs is out!

If you didn't get an amended role, got 2 roles, know someone else's role, fear someone knows your role, are confused about which role you're actually supposed to play as, or just want to gush about your new role, please PM the llama or me.

Cheers!

Yay, new game!!! :yay:

Golden (and any others who are curious), FYI the only closed setup game that has been hosted here to date is Roxy and DP's Monty Python game. I plan on utilizing them in the future, since I think there are definitely pros and cons with both, and I love experimenting with new approaches to hosting mafia games.

Nice rap videos. Thanks for sharing, DDL! Somehow I had never seen those before. Awesome.

I'm trying to send a PM to the host to ask questions about my role but for some reason my reply keeps going to the outbox instead of being sent. Why is that?

It will sit in the outbox until it is read by the Host. Then it will move over to the Sent box.

Just a way of saying whether the receiver has read the PM yet or not.

I believe Trev pioneered Day 0 with Star Wars Mafia. I could be wrong, though.

MovingPictures07 wrote:To add to my Day 0 thoughts, I believe Day 0 might have developed originally as a fun precursor to Night 0, during which everyone could use their night actions.

Interestingly, Night 0 fell out of fashion, and most games I recall playing go straight from Day 0 into Day 1, skipping Night 0, thus making "Day 0" a prelude of sorts.
I think Day 0 happened first. Then Some people adopt Night0 to give a bit more time or for night powers.... though, most players don't seem to like this.

i'm used to accusing people for frivolous reasons when games begin. i get the feeling that's not the intent for Day 0, but rather for Day 1? i.e. it'd be in poor taste for me to just start trying to work out the game now?

I sometimes call people out on day 0, if I think there is legitimately something to be called out. It's not everyone's cup of tea. But there is no specific etiquette that I'm aware of. Baddies will win if civilians are more bound by etiquette than the imperative to find baddies.

Please remember to copy both hosts on all PMs. And also:

I am serving double duty as auxiliary host/mod on duty, so if you have any complaints about Russti (I know you will have none about me) or your other players, or the game mechanics, or anything, please PM me and keep any nastiness out of the thread.

Thank you, and happy economicking!

All my economics teacher talked about was how her and her friends partied in college. She said her friend got so drunk one times she peed in the dorm hallway. This story was one of the many that helped me to decide to go to a private college instead of a university. Too bad the private college was worse in other ways. :/

i believe you. i've found Day 1 (in this case Day 0) is perceived very differently across the internet. i am one to hit the ground running and churn up mass content early and often, but i know that isn't the norm everywhere. and i don't mean to annoy the heck out of half the players here in my first visit. RYM is decently fond of a proper poop fling war. The champs games over on 2+2 were/are intensely obsessed with a proper poop fling war.

and yes. as long a poster as they come, i like to think. ;)

In a game about the economy, voting out the guy called 'golden' is certain to lead to a recession at minimum. In a world of supply and demand, surely it's more of me you demand.

Dom, thanks for clarifying! I was always curious about that.

Jay, it's not conventional to hunt on Day 0, but a few of us have from time to time or consistently (Golden, FZ., blindfaeth, sometimes me...), and I firmly believe that baddies are caught only via discussion. Having seen your poop flinging in action, I say bring it on. :srsnod:

Aether, have you read the thread? And I mean that in the nicest possible way. There was a discussion regarding the purpose of Day 0 polls and speculation regarding this poll earlier on. That said, you can just vote for any option you want. Considering Russ's very lax attitude towards it, I'm beginning to entertain this poll might even be a meaningless check-in topic starter poll, devoid of any individual prizes or game impact whatsoever. We shall see though.

Also, good to see Epi in full form. :slick:
