If I put a theory here, HK was scum and did it on purpose to somehow clear Maple in a world both are scum. With that, HK had nothing but scumminess only the claim was in his positive side. I have scum read him based in his posts mostly. But with this flip it makes sense that HK was scum and Maple is too. At least that's what I believe.
