I wanted to be on a soap opera.

What book are you currently reading? (I'd know this if any of you were on GoodReads!) Since you asked I am reading Girl Sleuth: Nancy Drew and the Women Who Created Her.

I am currently reading:

Romance of the Three Kingdoms
A Game of Thrones
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever (Just finished The Illearth War)

What book have you read that you really think there should be a movie of, but there isn't?

A year ago I would have said Ender's Game since that was in development hell for the better part of a decade. Today I would say Popco by Scarlett Thomas. It's character-driven narrative and does not rely on bells and whistles to make the story flow. It's my favorite book.

I'd also say: Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shytengart. Also The Dinner by Koch, which appeals to fans of Gone Girl. And also Great House, which is like the movie The Red Violin but with a cool desk as the inanimate character. I'm surprised Spielberg hasn't already optioned it.

And of course Jonathan Franzen's Freedom. I'd love to see Patty on the big screen. This book will change your life. The Corrections was supposed to be a series on HBO, but it passed on it and it nearly broke my heart.

What book do you believe has been needlessly made into a movie already? And you can't cop out and say Twilight.

All the non-commercial cinemas here have been shut down. There's an auditorium where film clubs occasionally show films, so I guess that would have to be my favourite.

As a side note, it kind of sucks that everything is going digital. What's the point in going to cinema when you can't even hear the sound of the projector?

Do you prefer seeing films in the cinema or at home?

Yeah, I'm ovo-lacto veg. I'm not a very militant person and I rely on eggs to get me some good iron, I eat eggs but I didn't for most of my life. The reason I didn't eat eggs for most of my life is I saw Paul Newman eat 50 eggs in Cool Hand Luke back when I was 8 or 9. That Easter I decided to also eat 50 eggs since my aunt had Easter eggs coming out of her ears. I went on her side deck and me and male cousin decided to give it a go. I made it to 7 and barfed all over the deck.

About 10 years passed, and I decided I might give eggs a go. My cholesterol is really low, so I figured I could handle them. Then fast forward to my college years at UF, and some weird engineering students were in the caf we me one day and deviled eggs were out out where you could grab as many as you wanted. These boys ate like 24 eggs and then barfed in front of everyone. So I didn't eat eggs.

10 more years passed and I decided I needed to add the highly versatile egg back to my diet, but this time it went through without incident.

What is your favorite Paul Newman fan?
