I kind of think you’re right but for the wrong reasons.

I don’t put a lot of stock in “dead air dead villager” type thinking. Sometimes wolves are frozen. Sometimes they’re more concerned with setting themselves up to win the f3 than saving their partner. Sometimes they just know they don’t have enough clout to save their partner and fighting can only hurt them. Sometimes they just don’t care that much.
