I know I still owe you all PMs for your locations. I must admit you all took a backseat to work, supper, fantasy basketball, and the Gotham premiere. We're going to have to learn to live with my priorities.
But how can I possibly make it up to you?
Tell me, did anybody ever figure out what those locations meant?

I'm not sure Dom, the jury's still out as far as I'm concerned. There is something I'd like clarified that might help me come to a conclusion though.
This is the Penguin's ability:
Epignosis wrote: As a powerful informant, The Penguin learns the role of the person he votes for, and may blackmail his victim. The victim has a choice to either do whatever The Penguin says or have his or her role sent to a rival person. The Penguin wins by surviving.
Can anyone offer me an opinion on what the phrase "have his or her role sent to a rival person" means? Like if the target was a member of one of the crime families, the answer is I should think obvious but what if the target was other than Mafia, how do you see this playing out?

That is (I assume) where one is obvious and the player with the conflicting win condition is still alive. What I'm getting at though is just how significant an ability do we consider this to be? Would it be of greater gravity to some roles over others?

Location, Location, Location...

A group of detectives handling the Arkham breakout hold a press conference with the intention of releasing declassified information about the case, hoping whatever would-be detectives could help them out.
None of them specifically mention the Batman, but their hopes are high all the same.
"Okay, quiet down, quiet down. No questions at this time. Here is what we currently know about the Arkham breakout: Four criminals, Calendar Man, Harley Quinn, Hugo Strange, and Killer Croc are on the loose. They have each retreated to certain locations, which include the Ace Chemical Processing Plant, the Iceberg Lounge, The Tobacconist's Club, and The Monarch Theater. Each of these locations supposedly holds a significant amount of liquidated assets, totaling $21,000, $31,000, $42,000, and $65,000. Finally each escapee has murdered a number of people, ranging from eight victims to eleven."
The press erupts with questions.
"Is there a reward for anyone who solves this mystery first?"
The detective at the microphone looks agitated, but acquiesces.
"Yes."

You just read in to a question about as much as DH does.
The moment you take two votes, and are targetted by the Penguin, you don't know who the Penguin is. It would have to be just one.

No I didn't. I asked you a question, and stated I had a ping. I did not state what my ping was, but it was always that I didn't think you read genuine. I asked you that question because how you answered it would be a direct window into how genuine your initial statement was.
BUT... having said that...
I now at least understand why you have gone down the route you have with me. It felt like you were arguing all these irrelevant things, but I can see how that initial question sent you down a route of thinking I suspected you for a reason I didn't. I'm trying to look at your behaviour around the juliets situation and separate it from your approach towards me, because I just read it back in light of your interpretation of my initial question and I can actually understand why your frustration.
But, to be clear - I suspect you because I do not think your approach to juliets (the entire approach - starting with that comment about lynching her, including your cherry picked case, and ending with your sudden turn on her because she posts a single post that looks different) seems (*cough - Mac, avert your eyes*) disingenuous to me. I still find that suspicious. But SVS made a good point as to the 'why do it if bad', and I took that point on board.

Woohoo press conference!
Well that helps set up the logic puzzle. Only thing is, unless we share in thread our clues, we're most likely at a disadvantage in getting that prize over the mafia, who can spread out and share. With only 5 unique locations and hints, my logic grid is very empty with the info I have. I only hope that the mafia don't have their shit together.
On the
flip side of the coin, I've seen sabie lurking a couple times in this thread, and has made no effort to defend herself or answer questions posed to her. At least acknowledge that you're aware, sabie!
I am very much leaning to voting her today.
Dom, I understand you've outlined somewhere why you're suspicious of MP and to a lesser extent [now?] me, but what does MP have to lose in coming out about the strategy? I think he laid it out quite wholly. I understand never fully trusting in this game, but come on man. I'm just more surprised that I didn't die last night.
I'm still in the mind that Gordon doesn't know shit and would love to hear from him otherwise, and will be staying out of the juliets/DH drama. I think juliets did give a good response, and I think that DH also laid out good arguments. I laughed, I cried, I looked at old yearbook photos. I'm a shell of my former self.
The continuing disappearance of posters is making my hands sweat, because this is hunting season for mafia to start taking out the people that are still alive and kicking. My fear is that by Day 15 (should we not have hanged all the mafia by then, god help us), there will just be Casper the Ghost and my 5-years-dead grandmother duking it out for the civs. No me gusta.

One player with a win condition conflicting with his own, I would assume. I was targeted by a similar role in another game, and I was a civ. They said they would send my role to a baddie, iirc. ANY civvie has a conflicting win condition to a baddie, and and baddie has a win condition conflicing with the civs, as well as various inmates. So if Penguin targets a civ, they threated to send the role to a baddie, or vice versa, assuming this works the same. And it's (one of) the same hosts, Epignosis, so I imagine it is similar.
Not sure where I am voting today. I cleared my slate after the BR lynch. Up to that point, the person I most suspected, to be honest, was TH. Since then we have had Crumbgate (still up in the air about that) and now the Coffeepot Dome scandal. As for that, I am totally neutral on Jules, as I usually am. She pretty much always reads the same to me, although I have a better grip on her bad game since A World Reborn (although not enough to move her to full clear), but I have not seen anything super alarming. I would like to Commish to be clearer.
I have seen full on civ DH up close & personal more than I might like, lol. He may be right or he may be wrong, but he is never retiring. That is who I think I see here. Either he really, really believes this, or perhaps he was Penguined. I don't see any profit to a bad DH in falsely accusing Juliets in such an overt manner.
I like Enriques point about making a big deal of this. We must be a mutual admiration society. I am planning to reread Sabie, and to listen to what the commish clearly said, and perhaps look into someone I trusts suspicions.

With that said, I am tone reading him as genuine, and he has brought forth insight throughout the game, mainly in the form of questions. I need to really think about him more though; he's the weakest of my town reads and could easily drop to a mafia read if he doesn't pick up more townie points.
Has anyone read sprityo's ISO? It's full of sketch. It's all mechanics questions for the hosts, discussion of mechanics, and last minute votes. In lynches with a clear runaway candidate, sprityo votes with the majority. In tighter lynches which would require him to take a stand, he votes for Floyd or talks about how we should get rid of the nonparticipants. The pattern is clear. sprityo is doing his best to not do anything that will put him in the spotlight. I encourage everyone to reread him. Let's get this guy in the hotseat pronto.
You're right, I just read back over Sprityo's posts and was astonished to see that he has 83 posts, yet I couldn't remember a single comment from him all game. He's been pushing for low/nonposters from Day 1 to the present and asks questions without giving much opinion himself. And, as you said, the bandwagony votes only give him a worse look.

The first thing is his comment that people should just sit back while these wall posts were going on and build on the mistakes made later. The only trouble is I never saw him refer back to that comment by building on any mistakes made. Maybe he did but if so I didn't recognize it in my iso.
ive forgotten about this entirely.....
Next was the comment made about Matt that he might not enjoy the spotlight. I saw that as laying down a suspicion that maybe Matt was bad because he wasn't as high profile as others. I personally haven't noticed this about Matt and he has 387 posts, in the top quarter of high posters in this game. I don't know if Matt is bad or not but this reason does not seem legit to me.
i have exactly watched games on this forum, nor have I ever interacted with Matt, this seems a perfectly fine question to ask to get to know someone a little better
Then we have his seemlingly dismayed reaction to the tie between Wilgy and Scotty. He seemed to be casting aspersions at the group - I don't know if he was going to narrow that down or not - but a note here is he didn't vote at all. So which is worse - trying and ending in a tie or just not voting. It seems like something a baddie would do.
i have a life and know for a fact I was busy that day. I even commented how I had just missed it
He also mentioned that he was not feeling good about Enrique though he didn't know why. I would have expected him to ISO Enrique or in some other way try to confirm what was making him feel pinged but I didn't see any evidence of that throughout the game. I didn't see the suspicion mentioned again.
correct, I haven't gone back to it yet, and probably won't. I mean, I COULD but
It'd take me actually wanting to
In the vote for Nerolunar sprityo voted last. This made me wonder if perhaps sprityo was Nero's partner. I realize other people who voted at the end may also be suspect in this area but since he was dead last I thought I would mention it.
same instance with the MP lynch. There was no way in hell my vote would matter to turn the lynch around, especially since you can't change your vote
Then he advises MP to look at the second big group of voters - including him - for possible bussing. I had a thought here that maybe sprityo was trying to waive away suspicion by including himself in the group.
this was a sincere thing I have to mp, I simply threw myself in there for ease of reading. I mean I could go the stock, "I known I'm town so you don't have to look at me" spiel, but that's it. Not to mention, does it really matter if I included myself or not? Everyone has their suspicions and simply providing a set of information in which I account myself doesn't mean it's a buss or cover.
Regarding Typhoony, he first says if Penguin is not Typhoony then who is the Penguin? He doesnt follow that up with any thoughts about who it could be but goes on to say they should be looking for Nero's partner not the penguin. In the middle of saying this she says she could vote for Typhoony. SVS caught this in the thread and sprityo explained which I included in a spoiler. See if it is a good enough explanation for you.
ugh now I've gotta go find this and respond separately
Makes another statement about something he is going to do, provide useful information if the hosts answer the question about whether Montoya has to use the power of the role but after the host answered I didn't see anything forthcoming on this subject.
the answer was not the answer I wanted, therefore voiding any usefulness to the comment in general
And finally, on her vote for MP she voted like she just looked at the list, saw he had most of the votes and voted him. Gave no reason at all.
One thing that sprityo posted that had people agreeing with him was a post about Mac's breadcrumbs. I included that post in a spoiler close to the bottom of the page.
Like I said this is not overwhelming evidence of being a baddie but there are some things to question. I hope sprityo is able to address these things soon.

I might also vote for sprityo; that one post where in the same post he says, meh, I could vote Typhoony (inexplicable Penguin suspect), as well as saying he agrees that locating the Penguin isn't as important as locating the Mafia. So cocoa & brb.
In truth SVS, i dont care much for the penguin. At least personally i dont. My logic being either yay, we got rid of a town liability (no shows) or, there's a half decent case for possible penguin. I was really just gonna leave it up to the numbers and vote for whichever was in the lead (as you can see, i did vote floyd). Im not one for high risks, and im certainly not about to have a wall post fight with someone (mostly because all i could do is defend myself and not make any counters). But needless to say, the whole penguin theory was shoddy at best.
Alright, yknow what, I am actually fine with the response I gave, because it's how I actually feel on it, judge how you like

I hope you will go back and take a look and maybe point to places you built on these early mistakes.

How could it be a perfectly fine question when he had so many posts?

But why did you make a post so condescending toward the Wilgy and Scotty voters? It sounded like you were trying to cast suspicion.

Does this mean you lost suspicion of him before investigating your ping? I"m just not sure what you're saying here.

But do you see how it looks like you could be bussing Nero?

Fair enough.

I'll look forward to your response.

Dom, I understand you've outlined somewhere why you're suspicious of MP and to a lesser extent [now?] me, but what does MP have to lose in coming out about the strategy? I think he laid it out quite wholly. I understand never fully trusting in this game, but come on man. I'm just more surprised that I didn't die last night.
....I have said like 5 times now that I'm not looking to lynch MP
Ok, so why even bring up that you don't trust him? It's like saying you think the crazy cat lady next door keeps stealing your potted plants while you're at work but you won't confront her and make her stop.
This might just be one of those things that I won't be able to understand between us this game, Dom. One of the many accruing seeds of misunderstanding that I feel might be sown into a tree of suspicion as the game rains on.
@sprityo Welcome back. Gun to dad, who would you vote for right now?
Linki: I'm not worried she isn't. It will be her undoing if she is bad.
