Why not have the lynch first and then kill him? I don't see how order matters. If he's scum, why put off the lynch?

while we're putting cards on the table.... kenway and I are also masons. we became mage-sons on day 3 and he's only checked in once to say "teach me master" and "I am town". he hasn't spoken to me or even checked back in since.

Jack has told me a few times that our having a masonic relationship doesn't guarantee that we're both civ, but that's led to some confusion for me, regarding background powers, because if Kenway could potentially be mafia but also have btsc with me wouldn't that make his civ background power (in the scenario where he's mafia) also just a real power? unless in that scenario the btsc were only supplied by my huge wizardly muscles and he would just be the recipient of it. except I was told we could just start up our btsc as soon as day 3 began, which implied that Kenway already knew about our oncoming btsc, so it must have also been part of his role background??? right?? or else i'd just seem like some random dude messaging him

Because I want to add a scum player to the dead role list ASAP. We need it for teammate analysis. And a kill can always fail. I don't mind if ID is one of the last scum to fall, but the first one needs to be soon.

this implies one of 3 things:
1. Kenway is confirmed civ, and jack is just messing with me/trying to add intrigue by keeping it ambiguous

2. Kenway can be anything, and some mafia fakeclaim cover passive abilities are actually active and real

or

3. Kenway can be anything and our Masonic relationship is taking place purely because of my background saying it should exist

This is my guess. With this much information in the game, if mafia doesn't have similar abilities to the fake ones, it'd be easy to call them out mechanically. Just game balance-wise.

I agree with this, also did we decide once and for all that the thing with gwilikers' vote clearing him didn't happen because of vote manips? I feel like I did the math on the manips that we found out about (speed's and sprit's) and it ended up as a tie that would clear him, but also since he has two lives would he have passed on the lynch anyway??

background roles can be fake, character classes can't be.

we could technically achieve the same result of killing him then lynching him by lynching him first if sprityo and I cooperate for a night but there's too many ways that can go wrong, and also apparently I can't ever successfully target anyone

Imagine if your role didn't indicate anything about having btsc, then suddenly 3 days into the game some random guy pmed you saying "hey btw we have btsc now" without any sort of host indication. if i we're in that position i'd panic and worry they were cheating or something.
C. that's actually not the goal of this topic either. my point of bringing up our masonship was to open up discussion about whether certain passive civ background abilities might also affect the mafia members who have those backgrounds as cover roles
