Hello I disagree. I’m willing to have this discussion with you.
Can you point me to where you laid out your argument?
Not calling votes makes it harder for town to keep track of who is being voted by whom and when, which is one of the few things that is actually tangibly quantifiable helpful for town wrt catching mafia. Hiding your votes is strictly a better environment for scum than for town.
Okay

Day 1
[Scene: Monique and Sleazy Martinez on a public boardwalk, arms linked. Calculon skateboards in radically]

Calculon: Hello dudes. You think this computes?

Sleazy: Calculon! But I thought you were...

Calculon: Metric? Think again, bozo.

Monique: (Flushed) Calculon... I didn't know you were so cool!

[End Scene]
-------------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as the camera stopped rolling, the cast and crew turned on each other. The show was busted, everyone knew it. As always, Calculon was the center of attention.

"This scene is terrible! I won't have it!"

The director had given up trying to get through to his star. He simply stared straight ahead. But Calculon's human co-star was not so defeated. They played friends on screen, but the tension between these two thespians was beyond repair.

This incident would be the last straw. Eight seasons of petty frustrations boiled over, and after a length shouting match it was inevitable that one of them would need to be written out of the show. It was an easy choice for the studio heads.

Long Con has been lynched. He was Human Friend, civilian cop.

It is Night 1. You have roughly 22 hours to submit your night actions (Night will end at 7 PM EST tomorrow).

I have received a question that I am answering here: As long as Sleazy Martinez is alive, that role is responsible for resolving ties.

Calculon
The star of the show, Calculon is virtually untouchable on set. He will survive the first fatal action against him, whether via a lynch or a nightkill. *(Secrets)*

Doubtful.

Sleazy Martinez
Calculon’s identical twin. If a tie occurs, the town will look to Calculon for a decision but Sleazy will interfere, allowing him to decide which player is lynched. *(Secrets)*

Possible

Priest
*(Secrets)*

Possible, if...

Bender
TV’s coolest robot. Bender is allegedly a terrible influence on impressionable youth, but he’s just so darn cool. His influence spreads everywhere. Twice during the game, Bender can cast two votes in the poll. He may cast two votes for the same player, or he may cast votes on two separate players. He’s Bender, baby. In addition, Bender can steal the ability of player he votes for once during the game. He will be granted access to that player’s night abilities the following night.

Possible.

F.A.R.T.
Fathers Against Rude Television takes a strong stance against indecent content on the boob-tube. Once during the game, F.A.R.T may seek to rid a player’s smut from the game by stripping them of their right to vote the following day phase. And if that doesn’t work, there’s always the option of resorting to violence: four times during the game, the FARTers can rough a player up at night, preventing them from performing their night action that phase.

The wording here says "following day phase," implying that this must be used as a Night action. As such, this couldn't be in play Day 1.

++++

It looks like Bender got a little too trigger happy Day 1 and the twin had to make a decision.

Given Sloonei's reputation for punctuality and the fact that the host post was three hours later than the poll's deadline, I'd say this was the most likely scenario.

Very unfortunate.

So this is where I'm at, ET is the Network President who starts each phase with minus 1 vote. Ergo it was a 3 way tie and sleazy decided on LC over the other two.

Now there could've been other vote manipulation that went on, but I find it very unlikely that any civ would choice to do that D1.

Also, Protip: When I have a role in charge of breaking ties (and I almost always do, as that prevents me from having to interfere as a Host), I always ask for a list Day 0 of most suspicious to least suspicious. Update as many times as desired. If the tiebreaker dies, the final list submitted is permanent.

I'd assume if Calculon survives the first attempt on him then no action would occur? It wouldn't make much sense for it to just be passed over and another player to get lynched.

Now it could be hypnotoad, but I've always been of the mindset that lynching and Independent early game is the best way to deal with them. Once you get further in you can't afford to waste a day on someone who's not mafia so they're best dealt with quickly. Basically minus Bender he's probably mafia.

therealet did absolutely nothing else the rest of the phase. No concern with finding mafia. No concern with being lynched (!).

My experience with similar roles (with the caveat that it’s on other sites) is that it would pass to the next player in line to be TKed.

I agree on independents tho, I’m very pro-getting rid of them early.

Scenario A - ET is Network President and since they start at -1 vote, it was a 4-way tie between Creature, LC, ET and TSP. Sleazy was the tie-breaker.

Scenario B - Bender placed a vote on LC, and it was a tie between LC and ET. Sleazy was the tie-breaker.

There are also a few secrets roles and the lynchproof one. I believe the lynchproof one would result in a failed lynch rather than the lynch going through to someone with less vote though.

Forgot about a third one, ET being the Network President and Bender voting LC. That would make it a no tie actually and LC gets lynched with 3 votes.

With the phase ending being a bit late, I think this one is unlikely 'cause no waiting for Sleazy.

We're missing a glaring situation about your possible role?

Or your actual role?

That wording. :smoky:

But okay.

Since you have declared that all of us are missing a glaring situation, I will painstakingly go through every situation imaginable, omitting instances in which "secrets" are involved since that could be anything and doesn't constitute a "glaring situation."

1. Calculon

The star of the show, Calculon is virtually untouchable on set. He will survive the first fatal action against him, whether via a lynch or a nightkill. *(Secrets)*

In my experience, "survive" means no death happens. If Calculon got Night killed, the mafia faction would not get to pick another target. It stands to reason that if Calculon got lynched (for the first time, not having been a Night kill target previously), there would be no lynch.

We didn't have a "no lynch." We had a cop lynch.

2. Sleazy Martinez

Calculon’s identical twin. If a tie occurs, the town will look to Calculon for a decision but Sleazy will interfere, allowing him to decide which player is lynched. *(Secrets)*

Given the close spread of the votes and the delay in the post, I am inclined to believe that Martinez had a hand in the result. This only happens if there's a tie.

You are not Sleazy Martinez, because you would not know how you survived having three votes (at least not enough to call it a "glaring situation").

Bender influencing the votes would mean that Bender's action is available during the Day phase, which is unusual but not unheard of.

I would be surprised if Bender used extra votes during the least informed juncture.

You are not Bender, because you didn't even vote to save yourself the ordinary way. :)

4. Network President

The Network President has final say over all things, and nobody can stop him. Twice during the game, the Network President can modify the mafia team kill to be unblockabkle. As long as the Execubots remain alive, the President begins each Day with -1 vote and his alignment cannot be checked (he will be ID’d as town). *(Secrets)*

Someone with three votes got lynched to someone who had two votes. That's what happened. This is the most glaring situation.

i expected to be hanged no matter what so i gave up trying

This is the most glaring situation.
well 'that wording' is me loosely treading the line of rule breaking

yall need to spoiler massive walls dawg
