This sounds like someone who is getting more and more powerful via surviving

That makes me wonder what the *secrets* of the Abramelin role are. Could it be a recruit/absorption type thing?
If so, I'm really pi$$ed I've not been recruited. What does Abramelin have against furry ferret-type beasts?
I wouldn't mind recruiting you if you know what I mean.

Okay guys, so who are we voting today?
I'm not feeling MM, Vomps, or S~V~S too much, so for me it's between the rest. I intended on voting BWT yesterday, so I might do that today. What is everyone thinking? I feel we're still in a crapshoot phase, which sucks.

I'm probably going to go with vomps. If we can get some conversation going, I'm open to discuss other players too.
What are your thoughts on this post from vomps on Day 5, MP?
Vompatti wrote:I'm voting MM like I did last time, but I'm also keeping an eye on INH for reasons not stated in this post.
Also, SVS, could you please answer this question? I still don't know what you meant here. You may have answered it already, but I'm not certain if you did.

What? I'm the only one who's survived a lynch.

Seems like silly regular Vomps to me.
Maybe I've just grown way too accustomed to his seemingly random, unexplained accusations.
I mean, he could be independent as much as anyone else, i guess. I'm just not feeling it.

I am voting BWT because I meant to yesterday: he is one of the replacements and I feel, especially lately, he has been seeming too flip floppy and trying too hard for my tastes.
Just a guess though. Sorry if you're civ, man, though it seems you likely won't be dying today.
I really don't think Vomps is the independent, guys, but if he is, then kudos.

While a small part of me is still reluctant about it, I'm going to go ahead and go with Vomps. He seemed genuinely interested and into this game at the beginning, but then it plummeted and dropped off. Which makes me wonder if any of it had to do with him gaining some kind of powerful secrets. Sorry if I'm wrong about you Vomps, but out of everyone still alive, I think you have the best chance of being the SK.

DAY 8
Having completed preliminary courses on all the occult topics provided at the outset, and none of them having proved sufficient to protect them from the unceasing onslaught of death and mayhem, the group decided to turn their minds inwards, engaging in deep meditation.
Meditation, as the most talked about occult practice in the West, is also the most commonly misunderstood. The word is all too often used as a synonym for relaxing or deep thinking. In fact it is neither of these. Although the results of successful meditation result in relaxation, the process itself, especially in the beginning stages, is anything but. The object of meditation is the cessation of thought, something that doesn’t sound difficult until you actually try to do it. The mind is constantly at work behind the scenes, engaging in unconscious and subconscious processes. It takes much practice first to become aware of these, and second, to halt them.
In the silence of the mind, consciousness is elevated and peace and understanding follow.
If you wish to defeat Abramelin, stop thinking about who he may be, and silence your minds. If you are successful. the answer will come unbidden.
Eliphas Levi queries the Tarot:
“What do you think of BWT?”

“Hmm, cryptic.”
No one has died. You have 24 to quietly reflect on whom to lynch, and then lynch them.

I missed last vote, but would have voted for BWT (nearly process of elimination at this point) and also to save Vomps.
Imma go ahead and vote because this game I can't trust myself to wait around close to time. Feel free to follow my example. I feel better about this vote than say, voting for MM, and I feel way better about this vote than voting anyone else I've not yet named in this post.
I hardly ever do this, but I encourage you to follow my lead.

MM, I have a question for you~ the prize you won. I know what mine was. What was your prize? Maybe a lynch stop? Rhetorical question, I don't want you to actually say what your prize was. But I do know what mine was, and I think a lynch stop is a very reasonable prize.
Food for thought.
NOT Abremelin:
MP
SVS
I highly doubt it~ won't say it is impossible, but i am not seeing it:
Dom
Mongoose
That leaves BWT and MM.
And MM, I DID answer your question, I directed the answer to someone else though~ I misunderstood the outcome of a lynch, I thought the wrong person was lynched, not the vote leader. You are in fact the only one to survive a lynch. Sorry about that confusion there. But again, increasingly powerful role, plus you won a prize. Lots of ways you could have survived a lynch, not just a role related way.
Everything you have said has felt very bad to me.
But no one agrees with me that you might not be that role. So I guess we have to lynch BWT first to figure this out?

I won't tell you what the prize was, but I will say that it was temporary. The day I won it was the only day it could be used, after which it expired. Did such a thing also occur with your prize?

I am going to vote BWT. I guess my issue with MM is that I think someone else is the role everyone thinks MM is. But that person is not saying anything so perhaps I am mistaken, this is based on thread, not info.
So hopefully BWT is the killer.

ENDGAME

Abramelin, for all his power, could not stand up against that most fickle of mistresses - public opinion.
birdwithteeth11 has been lynched. He was Abramelin the Mage.
Congratulations to Dom, MetalMarsh89, Mongoose, MovingPictures07, S~V~S!
I ended the game now, because there was no way for BWT to avoid being lynched at this point.
The roles were as follows:
A Person - Israel Regardie
birdwithteeth11 - Abramelin the Mage
Boogs - John Dee
Dom - Wynn Westcott
Elohcin - Dion Fortune
Epignosis - S. L. MacGregor Mathers
Hedgeowl - Gerald Gardner
insertnamehere - Cornelius Agrippa
MetalMarsh89 - Theophrastus Paracelsus
Mongoose - A. E. Waite
MovingPictures07 - Eliphas Levi
Nijuukyugou - Edward Kelley
Nutella - Aleister Crowley
S~V~S - Albertus Magnus
Vompatti - Madame Blavatsky
A couple of role secrets:
Albertus Magnus brewed a different potion every night and could give it to a player, who could then choose to drink or not drink the potion. To determine the potion’s effect, I rolled a d20 with the following weighted possibilities.
Silence 1-4
Insane 5-8
+1 vote 9-12
Overhear a snippet of btsc 13-15
Invisibility (unlynchable) 16-17
Gain someone else’s power next night 18-19
Instant death 20
Dom was the only person ever to decline to drink the potion. Luckily for you guys, I never rolled a 20.
Crowley and Regardie could attempt to summon a demon each night. Missed votes by civilians increased the probability of success, while missed votes from the Mafia decreased it. Once summoned, the demon would kill randomly every night (although heavily weighted towards people who missed votes) until Crowley died. It was entirely possible that the demon could have killed Crowley or Regardie as well as civilians.
On Night 3, John Dee and Edward Kelley were visited by an angel who would answer three of their questions, but no asking about alignments was permitted.
Abramelin was vanilla until Night 3, at which point he became immune to night kills, able to kill every night, and had a lynch vote worth 2. He was a last man standing role.
I was honestly shocked at how this game turned out. I thought I had it pretty well balanced, and was even worried that the baddies had too much of an advantage. But Crowley missed his first night kill, Regardie failed to vote in the poll where he was lynched (and could have saved himself), Abramelin missed his first night kill, and the Mafia didn’t even attempt to summon a demon until Night 3, at which point it was too late to do any good. Without these missed opportunities, there would have been three night kills on Night 3.
When Crowley and Regardie got killed so early, Abramelin was left in a tight spot, hugely outnumbered, which I never suspected would happen. I’m sorry if it felt like you guys were groping in the dark at the end, but honestly I never foresaw that situation arising. The contests I had planned ran out, because I thought that the extra night kills would conclude the game sooner.
Still, if Mongoose had not blocked BWT on Night 7, he would have had a fighting chance to win, so well done there.
Let me know if you guys have any questions about the game. Thank you all very much for playing, and I hope everyone had fun!

Alex, regarding your Tarot readings. I selected the card Death for Vompatti, because it signifies endings, beginnings, change, transformation, and rebirth. All of that tied in with Blavatsky's theories of Core Races and their progression through time. It was also a clue about his power of role checking the dead.
I selected The Hermit for BWT, not because he was an indie, but because it signifies solitude and inner reflection, which are conditions required for Abramelin to complete his operation.

MM I am soooo sorry. I was sure Dom was the rezz/lynch save guy since most people would have rezzed Epi right away, the first dead civvie, especially since he is a vocal player, but the rezzer waited for a more valuable role to rezz, which I have seen Dom do more than once.

Well I had more fun coming up with curses this game than anything I think. They may have been a pain in the butt, but I loved how creative the horoscope, haiku, and weather curses turned out. I basically picked people who would have fun with them, but still be able to communicate during the game. On Night 1 Vomps was supposed to have the horoscope curse, but it was redirected to MP who was leaving town for the weekend.
I had no radar this game for sure and couldn't figure anyone out. Definitely all over the map suspicion-wise.

I read through the roles, and I figured MP's might prove more useful than Epi's due to the tarot cards. I also thought since MP has been killed early in games a lot since his return, he might be more interested in being active.
