Agree with you that its a good place for SK to hide. But I'm more focussed on people I can link to ace for now.

To all the baddies (or whoever) that feel like defending me. Stop it!
 zombs you are one of my favourites already.

You are right about this. All you can really do if you are civ is vote with your gut, hope you are catching baddies, and hope you can find a way to prove yourself a civ as it goes along.

This is the way mafia goes...

Sometimes you get everything wrong and you win.
Sometimes you get everything right and you lose.
Sometimes you are screwed over by correct info.
Sometimes you are screwed over by incorrect info.
Sometimes you are good and you get lynched.
Sometimes you are bad and everyone thinks you are good.

If you genuinely are civ, all you can do is try to survive long enough that you can prove it. In the mean time, having a bit of suspicion against your name is a good way not to be nightkilled, so don't worry too much. What do you think my chances are of surviving and winning this game after essentially proving I'm at least not a goon on day one? Probably not great.

This is me. I have not caught up on everything, but I did happen to see this as I signed in real quick and felt the need to respond.
Golden wrote:I'm trying to figure out the best way to vote strategically on day 2. The way I think could give us the most possible information about who is good and who is bad. I get that baddies tend to distance themselves from each other and not be too obvious, but in my experience day one is often when they mess up connections the worst... and when they are most likely to show their hands.

At the moment, I think I'm leaning towards my vote tomorrow going towards Eloh. I think she is both a good option, and an option that is likely to give us a lot of good intel if she does turn up bad. Here is why.

1) My day 0 bandwagon theory. Aces really wanted to paint it as bullshit. It probably was. But I can really see why you'd want to work hard to paint it that way if the two people I'd specifically called out for it were both bad.

2) This still really pings me:
Elohcin wrote:At first read, I would guess the guilty one is Thurston the Porter. I will hold my vote for now though...
Elohcin wrote:I went ahead and voted the Porter. He still seems like the most suspicious as he did upon my first read through.
To me, when someone says 'I'll hold my vote' it is to imply they will listen to what others have to say. The fact she just voted on her own instincts after saying that really did ping me. I do recognise Eloh, you didn't have time to catch up on the thread, but it's just about the way things were phrased.

I wasn't holding my vote to hear what others had to say specifically. I was holding it so I could re-read the host post and think a while on my vote as well. ANd, I DID come back and catch up on what others had said. But I still felt my fist instinct was best. Why does this ping you?
Okay, so this is how busy I have been. I quickly responded to this before heading out to band practice, clicked submit and closed my laptop. However, it never even went through to the thread b/c of linki. I am here now with two of my three kids in bed and I got almost everything done for work that I needed to get done for today. I will try to read everything from today and post before I fall sleep.

lots of linki, obviously. And shoot, I really wanted to do the cartoon thing. UGH. Tuesdays through Fridays are impossible for me.
Banners are cool, but a pain to scroll through so...

Night 1: Maroon Cartoons
Image
The investigation took a serious turn when the gumshoes visited the cartoon studio.

“Hey Dom?”

“wat”

“What’s black, white and red all over?”

“That’s easy. A newsp-”

“You are!”

Having been dragged into an alley, Dom found himself being bludgeoned with paintbrushes covered in white and black acrylic paint, and could feel the knife piercing him all over.

Dom has been killed by The Weasels. It is now Day 2. You have 24 hours to lynch someone.
The cartoon submission period will close at the end of Day 2.

Why would the baddies necessarily know your playstyle? And why would they know that you would be all out on aces?

Is it really that common to drink so much?

Okay, all this talk about who pushed the vote over the edge is pointless. It could have been anyone. What if the second voters vote was worth 3 for example. Who knows!

As or cases, I see the case for MP and LC to be the strongest. I originally was reading him as civ, but I was also originally reading golden as bad. So who knows.

@Rabbit why do you think the baddies has to be LC OR MP?
thellama73 wrote:Elohcin, is your avatar a role hint?
Role hinting is not allowed. That was the cooest Roger Rabbit cake I could find on the net. I guess I will have to just make my own some day.
nijuukyugou wrote:This is supposed to be a speed/small game, and you leave me with six pages to read in the morning? :disappoint:

Linki - I was wondering myself, Eloh - did you make that cake or find it for the game? Either way, incredible :srsnod:
I have to agree. We have some hard core mafiaing going on in the little 'ol speed game. And no, this is the first cake I have set as my avatar that I did not make. But I really wanted something themed for the game.

@ golden - you say i am your preferred vote mainly b/c I "defended" juliets. First of all, I don't think I did. I said the case against her was silly. And second, how can you go after me for defending someone that you don't even know is good or bad? Also, AGAIN, I didn't bandwagon my day 0 vote. I didn't even look to see who had voted there when I voted. AND...its a DAY 0 vote. Why would ANYONE feel the need to bandwagon. It's not a big deal vote. It's usually more for fun.

Lynching me will find me civ. I promise you are looking in the wrong place.

RIP Dom :(

Also, that fs is not on the poll, that you dont wanna vote for juliets or zomba just yet, and that you plan to vote mp or rabbit, and that you understand elos defense? something like that?

weird that fs is not on the poll, gotta reread the roles if see something about that

also, golden, if you did say you start wondering about me, gotta answer that now cause tomorrow i have a very very busy today and wont be here for most of the time and dont wannna live that there: its weird you say that about me cause you know exactly how i play as a civvie and this is like: very engaged, high poster, looking for baddies, rereading, asking. i lay low as a baddie. you do know that. but, anyways, maybe i misunderstood you, or maybe thats what you said :shrug2:

also, could you clarify your thoughts on rabbit?

RIP Dom! Bummer that we didn't get to play together after all.

Wow, I do not envy Golden one bit. I hope I can still understand everything he says.

Sophie, I don't think Dom can be the Judge since the Judge can't be NKed, right?

Also, for those who are more familiar with Sophie's playstyle, does she typically go after low posters? Don't get me wrong, I think some of her post content was meaningful, but hyperfocusing on low posters as aggressively as she seemed to struck me as a bit odd, and I'm not sure what to make of it. I think I've played at least a few games with Sophie but it's been years and I can't recall. Anyone?

Golden, your case on Elo was interesting. I think the most compelling point was the possibility of defending juliets and Zomba, especially since Elo went out of her way to say she wasn't defending juliets. I find that most compelling since juliets is firmly on my radar.

As to those saying they think the case on me makes me suspicious, can you actually state why? And why has no one, particularly those who have been baddies with me before and played many games with me (Elo first comes to mind), commented on my meta claim that I generally do NOT defend my teammates but throw them under the bus? I know it's WIFOM and I know anyone could argue I can change up my game, but since the case itself assumes that I would defend my teammate, why does the case against me make sense if it's predicated on me leading discussion away from Aces and issuing a non-opinion on him? I don't understand. It doesn't.

Long Con wrote:
MovingPictures07 wrote:MM, what do you mean about LC's posts not seeming genuine? I'm sort of getting the same vibe overall, but I thought it was just me being paranoid or perhaps because he suspects me.
I already asked him that. What do YOU mean? That's got to be the vaguest accusation I have ever heard.
It's not an accusation, hence why I didn't accuse you or ask for you to respond to anything. I only tacked on my feelings here because it makes me extra curious as to what MM is talking about. Some of your posts have struck me as not a genuine attempt to baddie hunt, but that's just my gut reaction, and I wouldn't vote for anyone for that reason alone.

The only reason I'd consider a vote for you is the possible connection to Aces, but I could say that about at least a few others as well, so I doubt I'll be voting your way today if nothing changes my mind.

Why are you looking at me, Golden? I mean, I know why you are, but I thought you were considering Elo and not looking at me as of this post: http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 79#p122279

What changed your mind?

If anyone can actually summarize anything that I can respond to, that'd be great, because I honestly feel like I'm going to get lynched today unfairly and at the detriment of the civilian cause, and it's frustrating.

i didnt do it for misdirection, i think that low posters are a danger for the civvies, they dont help, dont try to build cases or look at suspish people, and can easily be lying low baddies. i do think one of the baddies is a lying low civvie. i stick to that.

now, if you see bad soph because of that and ignore the fact that i ve been badie hunting all game then :shrug2:

now, if you see bad soph because of that and ignore the fact that i ve been badie hunting all game then :shrug2:
I agree with you, but I'm not sure I want to vote for a low poster just to vote for a low poster, especially at this stage.

I generally start looking more at low contributors D3 or thereafter, unless I have normal reason to suspect one of them based on something other than low posting already, if that makes sense.

At least Llama will probably love you because of your stance on it. :P

you seem to have changed your mind after night, golden :ponder: you were eyeing juliets and elo and now they are off the hook cause you wanna give them the oportunnity to defend themselves (?), before night you seemed to think that an elo vote would be the best strategy just before night, and now they are all sudenly off the hook and you are eyeing me? thats kinda strange, imo.

linki MP: i ALWAYS look at low posters as a civvie. ask any of the RM crowd who have played with me many times, bf, bea, juliets, fs, etc

im with you on that

i really dont like low posters

well, usually i dont mind them if im baddie or serial killer, but as a civvie low posters suck

and whats worst, people who contribute a lot get lynched for sticiking their head out while low posters baddies laugh in their chat

truly a shame

Well, I haven't gotten to my re-read yet, so I am going to complete that by tomorrow afternoon at the latest (since I'm tired now) and then evaluate where I want to vote. I'm most apt to lean a vote for juliets right now, although there are other players that could be Aces's teammates, and Golden's Elo case observation was intriguing... but I need to try to get better reads on most players, especially in light of Aces being revealed as bad. Hopefully that'll shed some light on D1 upon a reexamination.

Curious what others are thinking, and I hope there can be clarification provided re: those who are considering me.

I echo this question; I don't believe I've received an answer yet.

And duly noted Sophie, thanks! I hope some of those players can confirm.

on the other hand, i love playing with all this people i havent seen in so long, and think i can be very useful in this game, and would love to win as a civvie, so you could just stop naming me and put an end to all this ridiculousness :llama:

This is a good example of a statement that defends Aces in a sort of subtle way. It's not "I think he's not bad", but it does say "This is how Aces plays, and maybe it's not his baddie game."

Then he indicates that he doesn't want to vote for Aces or MM, but continues to prefer an MM lynch even as he went for BF. Not defending... but directing his attention elsewhere. Then he gives a suspect list that doesn't include Aces.

That's really all I can see for MP in a search of his posts.
I haven't really played mafia with MP - only for like a day or two in Donner - so I really only know him from real life. I'm kinda in the same situation as I was re Snowman at the beginning of Death Note. I see LC's point about MP but I'm worried that my IRL interaction with MP (not about mafia of course) might taint my feelings about him. I kinda think MP might be bad, but just like Llama's original case against Snowman, I feel like this evidence against MP is a little weak and that LC may be reaching or just going along with Golden. I'm gonna watch LC and MP. :eye:
This quote from LC was the one that caught my attention. But as I said (see above) I feel like I might be biased.

Elochin still on my suspicion list. LRDY? said her before Juliets / Zomba at night.
Have been having had feeling about Sophie whole game. But was MGNFD? by Sophies posts in last few hours.

@ Golden - I suggest that you try to use small words and avoid words that start with vowels.

I translated Golden's first "code" post below as best as I could. About half way through he started just going on and on about how good I am so, out of modesty, I left those parts out. ;)

Likes playing with Dom, but not sorry that low poster Dom dropped dead. Sophie, your Dom thoughts are not important now. Hopes Dom was judge. Maybe they killed Dom hoping Dom was judge, kill nightly.

Getting up at 4 in the morning tomorrow (NZ time) - will have to vote then. Thoughts on who is bad keeps shifting. Definitely not voting for Zomba or Juliets today. I think they are circumstantial cases and think they should both be given chance to prove innocence. Both seem very civvie to me (he goes on to say lots of good stuff about me)
