THE SETTLEMENT OF NEW CAPRICA

Image

"All ships accounted for" said Epignosis "That was a successful jump."

"I'm incredibly pragmatical that verticity postulatum has Thomas its precision Red Rook such anticlimax levant time" said ObscureAllure

"Why did you sink my floating zeppelin?" asked Vompatti, before storming off in a huff.

"Admiral" exclaimed JaggedJimmyJay "we've detected a planet close by. Our readings demonstrate that life is supportable in a temperate band surrounding the equator."

"Admiral" said G-Man "the nebula that enshrouds this system makes DRADIS contact difficult. The cylons would find it difficult to find us here."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The planet was named New Caprica, but the fleet were divided about whether or not the planet should be settled. Some in the fleet had begun to believe that Earth was a myth and that Adama had no idea where he was going. Others pointed at the fact that the new planet was mostly harsh and unforgiving and that surely they would find better planets for settlement.
In the end, all agreed to leave it to recently restored democracy. The Quorum of Twelve had been re-established, one representative of each of the former colonies, and a Presidential election was looming. The current President was campaigning on the platform of continuing on to find earth. But there was a challenger, and the challenger was campaigning on the basis of settlement of New Caprica.
The decision would rest on who was elected President of the Colonies.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gaius Baltar felt good about things. He had been unfairly maligned by many, seen as weak and rudderless. But here he was, President of the colonies, and he was not going to take any frak from anyone any more!

No-one has been lynched.

Gaius Baltar has been elected President of the Colonies. ALL previous laws have been repealed. Gaius Baltar has enacted a new Act - the "Gaius Baltar Immunity Act". Gaius Baltar is henceforth immune from all lynches.

It is now night 6. You have 24 hours to send in your night actions.

First in response to how this lynch turned out, I'm clueless. Basically the options I can think of are that Glorf is a cylon and Sig is Gaius who was then granted immunity by the immunity act or that Glorf was Gaius.

In response to my vote, it was 100% to break the tie between Sig/Rabbit.

Moving forward, Gaius whoever you are, try to enact that law Matt talked about, it was a good one.

I had faith in zeebs when she was alive. What you read as me buddying svs and zeeb was me thinking I knew who one of them was and thinking I was pretty positive I was seeing expected civ play from the other. You can do the math on who was who on your own. You're good wif maffs.

As for LC - honestly - you asked and I will answer. I said I was giving him the benefit of the doubt because I started thinking - the way he kept saying that SVS was roleplaying - made me start to question if he was role playing. And *if* he was a civ like he claimed, one role stood out to me as being one that would be all "eff authority" coupled with the insistence that he needed a couple cycles to prove it - and again - thinking of the lore - I could think of one civ role I would very much want to give the benefit of the doubt to. So yea - at the time I didn't vote for him and he died, I was worried that he was role playing Starbuck. Sure, in hindsight that is rediculous sauce and since it so proven wrong by his lynch I never brought it up.

But no - I wasn't lying. I was happy to see Cain go. I hated the martial law and if you go back and look, I know I have said MORE than once that I believe some cylons can be good and that I am a human civ.

If I've missed any concerns you have please let me know. I was doing that from memory.

I think Glorfindel received the most votes.

Glorfindel:

Silverwolf (3), Dex (8), insertnamehere (20), Matt (21), G-Man (24), sig (30) + Vompatti
Vompatti wrote:vote 2: glorfindel.
Silverwolf's vote is invalid because she was replaced. Total votes for Glorfindel = 6.

sig:

a2thezebra (2), Metalmarsh89 (19), S~V~S (25), JaggedJimmyJay (26), DrumBeats (27), rabbit8 (29)

Zebra's vote is invalid because she was also replaced. Total votes for sig = 5.

___________________________________________________________________________

Sig, if you do manage to convince folks to lynch me, the result will haunt you forever. Seriously, this would be a suicide attempt by you. I've suspected you since Day 3, I think, and that is not enough reason to warrant you to go after me as payback, because you've acted scummy and your vote history is plain poop.

Based on?

I'm actually starting to become annoyed at a handful of players stating "he's mafia he's mafia" while not providing any means or reason why that can be disputed or discussed. I think this is the last time I respond to "Wilgy's Mafia for no reason" and I'm not going to argue baseless claims anymore. This means you: Sig, Drum, OA, and Sokoth.

@Rabbit, you both saved Sig, the votes were in glorf's favor (as in potentially not getting lynched) during both of your votes.

Now we have a conundrum. We don't know why either of these players survived, one may be Gaius, Glorf may be cylon. We don't know anything now because of coinflips...

Vompatti's vote actually made mine put Sig one below Glorf, so I did not save him since my vote count was off. But to be fair I did not know this at time of the vote.

I had faulty logic because I had forgotten that we can add more votes on top of the person who claimed cylon instead of the votes being locked there. If you look back on my post, you can see that that was where I was coming from, because I had thought Glorf's claim timing forced us to either leave the votes as is in a tie or surpass and choose our lynch. The logic was flawed as hell, so I am sorry that my lapse of judgement helped contribute to that situation.

I'm going to get off for the night and clear my head. If you guys want to suspect me, go ahead, I understand any suspicion based on what happened in this situation. I fucked up because of a weird judgement lapse. I'll keep scumhunting until you guys decide to pull the trigger so at least you'll have that when I'm proven innocent.
