I'm eh at reading LC, and I'm not seeing much "self doubt and strong want to get his reads right" frankly, like...I just see the same shit he does 80% of the games he plays, sometimes he's town doing it and sometimes he's not. The other 20% he's either extremely obvious town or functionally not playing*, but this middle area I'm not particularly great at reading him in a vacuum.


*this is not a judgment, for the record, I also have games like this, it's just a thing that happens sometimes

Ok summary thoughts right now.

First, Syn asked if I always overexplain myself. That was weird. I wasn't trying to explain myself , I was trying to explain my thought process because I think town and wolf reveal themselves because of their mindset. You can make up suspicions for random things throughout a game, but you reveal yourself through the way you think. In my head when I posted the wall of text, I wasn't defending or explaining myself, so much as telling why things looked suspicious to me, sharing that thought process for other town to consider basically.

For that particular reason, I'm really struggling with trusting DDL. He just keeps doing things for optics reasons and reasons I have a hard time reconciling to a town mindset. He's constantly saying things to get ahead of what people might accuse him of, and even moved off a vote he placed because of how it looked for him. I just don't think when you are a civ and actually hunting, you take that much time to curate what other people think of you.

It's part of what I don't get about Wisdom either. They voted off wagon specifically because they don't want to be part of a yeet? That was my understanding and it seemed really weird.

I went and looked at the vote finally and it was Jack that threw that last vote on falcon. Apologies to DDL for saying it was him. My memory really is truly awful. However, when I looked at his explanation it was more than what I remembered. I recalled that it was a vote where someone didn't express a lot of feeling about falcon being bad, but I forgot that he gave some reasoning for not wanting to see Long Con get the most votes. Why does this matter? Well, I thought it was weird that a town person would cast a vote for someone they didn't actively suspect, when a civ role is used to break ties. In my head I voted Long Con because I suspected him more, but I had no read on falcon. I knew my vote and Scotty's would tie it up and I was kind of ok with a civ role breaking the tie. So it felt like a non-town mindset to break the tie in favor of someone they don't even suspect when a town role would do that for him. However, actively believing Long Con is towny is a decent reason to do that and not risk the civ role yeeting Long Con.

That said, I kind of suspect Jack for something he said earlier, and I don't know if it's a good reason or not. So right now, I don't trust Jack, but I don't want to vote Jack yet either.

I'm mildly concerned about Syn, I feel a bit like he's fishing for a good suspicion that looks town, even though he knows it isn't. It';s a very vague impression though.

I still think Long Con is suspicious. I think it's weird that no one has discussed that I moved to make him a counter wagon. I think it's weird that has completely ignored me despite that fact. I think it's weird I have seen very little defense from him. It gives me the vibe he is trying to avoid drawing too much attention to it in hopes of us forgetting about him.

Hot take: SVS and Long Con are wolf teammates.

hard disagree. I mean they can but it's harder about emotions. like self-awareness is a bitch and most of them will tend to overdo stuff one way or another.

I go back and forth between not giving a shit about how I look so as to call out players for suspecting me in a bad way, which allows me to catch wolves. It also leads to wolves being like “Jack is yeetable” when I’m not and that leads to bad wolf positioning.

This also tends to cause undying death tunnels on me to townies, which is bad. Sometimes I get those townie yeeted. Sometimes they even yeet me. Certainly it can be a distraction.

Somebody remind me after the game is over to talk about my vote on Lime right now so I can test an overall theory about my play.

About that, I often post little in any game I play, and when I do post I either put nothing on the table, I cause confusion on what I mean, or I end up sounding phoney.

I had motobot as a very slight GTH town but then I saw this post. Does anyone who’s played with motobot know if he’s worried about saying something wrong in his town games? Because if not imo that’s a wolfy sentiment to have.

Sounds like just someone who is traumatized by being suspected in games before. And more likely townie than scum. I figure a wolf would try to act more cool about that.

The goal is not to fake emotions, is to show the emotions you are actually having.

Notice how a lot of LC's frustration is related to his TS performance in general, not this game we are playing. We could be feeling that regardless of what alignment he has here.

The mindset is as follows:

I think Lime is bad.

I think dunya is bad with Lime.

I'm more confident in the former than the later, and the later depends on the former, so Lime needs to go first.

Everyone and their cat is townreading me rn, so there is a high chance I get nk'd soon. Because I'm a special snowflake and maybe only I noticed the connection, it's better to point it out now before I die without saying it.

But a side effect of this all is that someone (forgot who) started looking at my Lime case on the grounds of it being a dunya-related thing. It's not. Not just that. I want them to look at Lime in isolation too. Before people start dismissing it because they like dunya or something.

(or gasp, because someone argues again that Lime and dunya are friends. More than one person have used that argument and it sucks, because I'm not having any issue with them being friends, and them being friends outside of the game nhas no influence on their role cards here).
