Day 2: Non-Continental Hotel Breakfast

Image
Guys, this is a real place in Tampa called The Oxford Exchange that has separate places. This is where they serve decadent brunch, but they also have an oddities gift shop, a tea counter and book room (for purchase). On the second floor, they have these rooms you can work in or book meeting space. I took Llama when I still lived in St. Pete, but I think we just had fancy tea drinks. If I recall correctly, he had a London Fog and I had a Matcha Green Tea Lemonade. He might have had an Early Grey Lemonade. Do you remember, L?

The next day had a renewed sense of levity. Boomslang celebrated his second chance at life by playing for his friends while they ate, and they celebrating by buying him an Unlimited Ticket to the Mimosa and Bloody Mary Bar.

Image

"Guys, were those like 5,000-thread count sheets?" asked JJJ.

"5,000-thread count sheets are expensive in Finland," said Vompatti, walking over with mail for some of the players.

"Vomps, I didn't know you worked at the Hotel [REDACTED]," said Llama.

"k," said Vompatti who was already gone.

Those with envelopes opened them. Those that did not -- did not.

Image

After putting any items from the envelopes in their pockets, they one by one tucked their spent envelopes under their plates and continued eating.

"Man, I love hotels," said LongCon.

"Always a lovely treat," said Sock, who was now made with Felt.

"Were everyone else's bedspreads made of denim?" asked Made.

"Yeah, ours were," answered Epignosis.

"Surprisingly tasteful," mused nijuukyugou.

Image

"I found it rather uncouth to be perfectly honest," said INH.

"I have to agree," said Llama. "I've not owned a denim item in over 20 years."

"But yet, you're here," said Boomslang, not unkindly.

"I find it an interesting scholarly topic," Llama said.

"Your vehicles are here," said Vompatti. "Please step into the hot air balloon. Its limit is 15."

"Um, but there's 16 of us," worried Elochin.

"Hey, hot air balloons are my favorite thing on earth, so I'm definitely getting on board," said Llama rushing ahead. Llama safely boarded the hot air balloon.

Image
Your host would never get on a hot air balloon for any reason.

DrWilgy sighed. "I'll go ask Vomps for some straws."

"Oh weird, there were no short straws in that batch," said Sorsha.

Quin and Jay breathed audible sighs of relief.

Very interesting. Could it be thta Quin is the unlynchable role? He seemed very unconcerned in the run up to the lynch.

I don't think I had a London Fog. This was before I drank tea, so it must have been an espresso or other coffee type thing.
Fact: my first attempt at a novel was about a hot air balloon. I got about 10,000 words in and realized I had no idea where it was going. Since then, I outline.

No. I'd just gotten all my legacy reads out of the way and had nothing else to talk about.
Getting back right into it - why didn't you consider the possibility of Jay being the unlynchable role? A very strong point was made that there was vote manipulation going on.

I did consider that point, as a matter of fact. But it requires assumptions I'm not prepared to make, such as that the vote manipulators had to use their actions (not a given with several no shows) and they would have had to use them in your favor. Also, you seemed much more unconcerned about the lynch than Jay did, at least as I read the thread. I actually had a fair suspicion that you would survive before the post went up, based on your casual demeanor.

I would like to note that my point was not "very strong" in the sense that I was implying that my own vote was anything but a single, regular one. I believe Quin is the Denim Shirt, not JJJ.

Okay. I wouldn't call Quin cleared then. I'm not the Denim Shirt so the possibility is open. A tie between us accounts for our survival, and there's a civilian role that could have made that happen.

So there are two worlds (not accounting for whatever else there might be in role secrets or mini event prizes): one where Quin is cleared and one where he looks the same. Neither make him look worse.

If Quin was a particular civilian that can't be lynched, why would he maintain that the lynch was a tie and not just shrug his shoulders?
