Reasonable explanation for "I'm gonna be gone for the rest of the day, but oh wait I'll make sure I send in the final vote to make sure someone else gets lynched besides me"?

I just want to mention, regarding the LC stealth vote, that it's not him voting SVS at the end that stands out to me. It was him or her. Everyone would want to save themselves, good or bad. However, if he really claimed he wouldn't be around and didn't post at all leading up to the ending of the poll when people would have loved to hear from one of the top suspects - the fact that he WAS around during that time is very fishy.

Why is a self-preservation vote like that immediately scummy? Would you expect a player of any alignment to allow themselves to be lynched?
this question is being asked in a hypothetical world where svs did not just vote for herself.

Ah, this must have something to do with it.

First of all, I'm named after a hue and an element, not a fucking cheese.

Secondly, I'm not used to people not voting until later in the phase. I'm used to most votes being laid out earlier and then adjusting them over time. To someone like me who is unfamiliar with the style here, it didn't look like LC had any traction when it turns out he did. I was late to the party, my bad. Sue me.
You posted four minutes after the host post was put up (seven minutes after the poll ended), and claimed you would've voted otherwise, and you claim you weren't around at the end to do this? Sorry, but that does look fishy.

I'll make it plain for Cobe Bryant.

You had your chance to lynch Long Con. You didn't take it.

You gave a real life excuse for not voting Long Con (which I don't care about and no one should because you could have left your vote where it was).

You pledge your vote to Long Con at Night.

You try to make yourself seem threatening, which, let's be real, ain't happening. :)

If tomorrow is forced to be about Cobalt vs LC - and I hope it isn't, but if it is forced to be - then there is no doubt in my mind I will vote for the person who is forcing us to make that decision, and that is Cobalt.

However, Cobalt seems to be claiming some form of lynch protection. Which is not the same as being civilian.

I'm with sloonei on the 'why is LC's votes suspicious'. When someone knows they are under the gun, they will try and get time to make sure they are around in the last couple of minutes and use their vote for self-defence - even if its in the toilet on the phone.

yes. Explain to me, in your words, why you find that so suspicious. So far you've only made an observation that's readily apparent to all of us. Can you imagine no scenario where a town/civ Long Con would do what he did?

Huh, wasn't expecting an indie result. That's kinda too bad, as it probably was indeed a cool role, but on the other hand that means it may have had nefarious abilities/win conditions. So a somewhat neutral RIP to SVS the role and a sorry-to-see-you-go to SVS the player.

Huh, didn't realize LC dropped in like that. I wish he had posted along with his driveby vote but he did say he would be very busy and as Golden so elegantly put it,
Golden wrote: When someone knows they are under the gun, they will try and get time to make sure they are around in the last couple of minutes and use their vote for self-defence - even if its in the toilet on the phone.
So I don't really blame LC for popping in but I am definitely looking forward to hearing a lot more from him when he gets back. Something feels off. On the flip side I am crooking an eyebrow at Cobalt's extreme eagerness to go after LC before even hearing anything from him. That's some conviction there. Looking forward to seeing how Day 2 will play out.

My catching-up post touches on this for a second but, guys, can I take a moment to play peace-keeper a little bit?

I've noticed some moments of not-so-sarcastic snark. A bit of anger and name calling at times. Mind you, none of this is directed at anyone in particular. I just want to throw out a friendly reminder that games are meant to be fun. If you're not having fun then consider why that is. The part where we're trying to get each other killed? Yeah, that's not real. It's all in jest. I'd hope we could kick back and have some laughs in between those moments. I just want everyone to have a good time. I will try to only speak for myself right now but everything I say should be taken with a grain of salt. I assume the same applies to most of us. There's not a single one of you that I wish anything bad on and there never would be for any reason even if you say the opposite to me. My goal while playing this game and in life at all times is to keep things light and silly. Happiness and anger are equally contagious. I hope you'll help me spread the former.

If you're upset, we did have one Mr. Talking Llama make this invitation earlier in the game:
Hello,
I am your Mod on Duty (MoD). I get ever so lonely, so please talk to me about this game. Feel stressed? Angry? Like you want to punch Epignosis in his skeletal face? I don't blame you. Tell me about it. I won't judge. Is MP posting too much? Let me know! Did somebody break a rule? Did the host break his own rule? I am the person to complain to. If you complain in the thread and not to me, you will hurt my feelings. We try to avoid hurt feelings around here. You can even use swear words in your PMs to me. Honestly, I don't mind.

I'll check back in later, but let me know if you guys need anything at all. Have a great game!
I'm sure it's still on the table.

Now I'll leave you with some pictures to make you smile.
