my vote was a meme at first but i think im fine keeping it here for now

also i think scumreading iaafr for putting together a random scum team just isn't really a good reason. i do that all the time too and ive discussed enough mafia with iaafr to know that's just kinda how he is irt to cred-grabbing. i'm sure there's other reasoning for it, but that was one reason that stuck out to me as not Amazing

also leetic seems overly concerned with pressuring people they feel aren't "doing enough" which i think is townie in attitude but not really productive for generating good scumreads sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

p much agree with this

feel like it was mostly axe who was pushing iaafr and he's either maf or apparently regularly has reads of that caliber of badness so yeah just dont listen

marmot expressed issues with iaafr too, and (a) i also suspect marmot atm and (b) if marmot's concerns are genuine they come from a place of not much familiarity with iaafr and not understanding that everything hes done here is pretty normal for his town game imo. like the calling out hypothetical teams, that's just the spec chat warrior way

sorting playerlist into two simple tiers (alphabetical within)

i have at least some degree of town impressions:
anne
cassandra
iaafr
ilario/leetic
jaggedjimmyjay
lime coke
master radishes
nanook

i don't feel any reason to townread:
drwilgy
dyslexicon
falcon
macdougall
marmot
notanaxehole
sloonei
staypositivefriend

the most out-of-place names on each list feel like master radishes and spf, in that they can almost go in either

i'm curious if my take on marmot is controversial since he has actually produced a reasonable amount of content, it's just that the content and its depth doesn't ring genuine to me. maybe i'm crazy but that rodent smells funky

Mac's posts did nothing to me and felt like he was struggling to generate content

JJJ feels distinctly off - his posting isn't bad but lacks the town leadershipness. i think he's either mafia or some PR trying to survive

NAA feels less towny than last game though admittedly my eyes glazed over when i read a lot of their posts

there u go

also i just remembered MR's entrance felt kinda towny.

I'm a bit torn on the rodent from the PNW. Holistically, I think his posts look fine -- his hunt seems to be organized in a way that recalls some of his other recent town efforts reasonably well. Conversely I sensed some opportunism in his treatment of me (e.g. suggesting I changed my approach somehow after pressure). I grant there's personal bias in that. It'd help to get someone else's perspective about Marmot's view of me.

Regarding my leadership capacity (re: alexa): remember from the article (shameless plug) that one of the first core questions to ask about leadership in Mafia is whether or not the game actually calls for it or has a need for it in a given situation. Just joining a game and immediately going Leader Mode isn't necessarily a good thing. :noble:

i feel like SPF wouldn't push on nutella off the bat as scum/town because she'd be aware nutella isn't MLable. though as i say that i remember that she did the "push to pocket" approach to me before so i'm a bit more shrug about it but i still kinda gut townread that. also i liked her saying something pinged her from me but she ignored it

The people playing in it. There are three elements to this player list that I think lend themselves nicely to a game where I don't have to take on that banner in every post:

- Familiarity -- a bunch of people here know each other well and can provide great insights on each other without needing to be prodded and poked
- Skill -- the players in this game are very good at Mafia and need less "guidance". I feel like a bit of a doofus saying so, but in some games I do feel like I need to provide guidance like a champs qualifier.
- Vibes -- these are good folks establishing and maintaining a positive environment and would likely be doing so if I wasn't playing

The situation might change at some point. I am ever watchful of a game's climate. But for the time being I really like where we are at as a game thread.

from memory you had a post about like, "i'm totally going to do thaat next time i'm scum" and just the general way you've been approaching reads

i guess this game will tell me for sure if you're polarized or not though because my only witness of you as scum was that turbo and you were obvious AF here, i'm sure you'd have a stronger scum game here but still feel like town rabbit to me
