I can hard clear myself - I don't deem it necessary, though, because I've already hard cleared myself once. Doing it one more time is nonsensical, just because someone that just lost all credibility demands it.

also to be clear about this: I intended to check ted last night. he persuaded me not to by saying that he has a way of hard confirming himself as town. therefore by not doing so I have no choice but to presume that he is intentionally trying to dodge a red check.

i am 100% serious about this - I have no tolerance for lying to avoid getting checked in this sort of situation. I won't say I exe all liars but in this situation lying is too obviously scummy to ignore

he said "don't cop check me, I can hard clear myself tomorrow". that implies that he is specifically intending to hard clear himself tomorrow and doesn't want to waste a cop check because of it, so the "but maybe the hard clear has a big downside" argument is implausible to me - if it was so risky he wouldn't be recklessly promising to do it.

really I think if ted was town with access to a hard clear with a downside there's no reason why he outs it last night. if he doesn't intend to use the hard clear right now because it has a downside then he doesn't mind if the cop checks him. and if I'm scum and red check him then he can immediately hard clear and conflict me. if I check wilgy or whatever instead, then he can decide whether or not to hard clear based on the circumstances. to me it makes a lot more sense to hold onto that claim if you weren't sure whether or not you were going to use it. the only reason you would out it early is because 1) you intend to use it immediately and don't want the cop's check wasted (and this is what he implied he would do by promising he would hard clear himself tomorrow, and acknowledging that I have a right to turboexe him if he doesn't comply), or 2) because you don't want to be red checked
