And worst case scenario, restricting their hand to kill who they want to isn't a bad thing.

And wouldn't giving sig an item, if he is townie, just put a target on his back? Isn't this whole mechanic inherently target-creating?

I see no reason why they would necessarily go after scotty as opposed to, say, me... I'd guess I'd look more threatening right now.
