I agree that LC probably doesn't make this play if the Syn wagon is entirely pure - he'd be shutting his buddy out in the cold in that case. That's a great look for Marmot and Wilgy, since he can't possibly feel comfortable suiciding with his buddies in the position that Marmot and Wilgy were in.
