I too have been annoyed by wolf buddies tarring me with ugly associatives when I have said nothing wrong in the thread myself.
Anyway, if you are in fact town, I believe that you will have a chance to show it to me and prove why this read was wrong. Until then, I see no reason why you should be dissatisfied with a push on LC.

I think there’s a decent chance that the collective town play is constricting the mafia already and they’re lashing out. It’s not hard to believe that I’m just right about FG and LC. And together they’ve decided to fight out of it by challenging my posture as a consensus town read and leader.

I can definitely see wolves being tilted if multiple townies are all townreading each other and getting more confident in their reads as they interact more while wolves are left out in the cold.
That said, I don't see FG as the kind of player to lash out as wolf.

"Too good to be true" doesn't exist in mafia IMO. If something is scummy, it's scummy, and you feeling like you were handed the win on a silver platter doesn't change how objectively scummy that thing is. The real thing to be wary of is being manipulated into being too confident the game is solved by scum, but that is a different matter altogether.

Me and him will most likely be top posting by the end of day 1, and I am not interested in this slot in the slightest as long as his progressions feel natural
This post is nonsensical. Players in and of themselves can't be bad lynches D1 - if they're mafia they're definitely a good lynch D1. Barring some extremely weird meta concerns, it's very difficult for me to see how JJJ can always be a bad lynch Day 1 regardless of alignment. I also don't understand how "top posting" has anything to do with alignment. Top posters D1 in the Space Invader game were proto/Alison/Mac and two of those players were scum.

But seriously, not wanting to lynch Jay on day 1 in general is a lot more than he's a high poster. I think you probably know that. And Wisp even qualifies it with a "as long as his progressions feel natural".

so my push in Nanook is bad?
but this is nice pocket from Nanook, which definitely doesn't insinuate a town lean
you talk about other people looking worse than Nanook, but then you vote Jagged, when people like Funnygirl have terrible early games isos
[VOTE:
Alison] aubergine
@JaggedJimmyJay
leaving Funnygirl on the back burner for now
I want Alison to respond to my posts
I see nothing wrong with Funnygurl's posts. She has this entrance literally every game and you can go and look at her past games if you don't believe me.
Also yes I was suspicious of that post but nanook later cleared it up by:
- Saying that he did it in a game where he was town (I couldn't find the post where he did this to Epi specifically, but I do remember him throwing out a bunch of reads and clearing people after talking to them for a bit)
- And if that isn't enough, saying that the read is short-term and that it will either confirm Epi to be town if he continues it, or mafia if he discontinues it. This suggests that he is prepared to explain his read more clearly later on in the game.
The basis of suspecting nanook throwing out an early "Epi is town" for no real reason is because it looks a lot like nanook just wants Epi to trust him and think favorably of him by giving him towncred. But if nanook is willing to demonstrate that he does this as town, as well as explain the basis behind his read (even if he only does it later on), that assuages a lot of my concerns about the read and moves it closer to a normal read with proper explanation and reasoning, which is obviously not very suspicious.
but there's something here that's subtly town

Also this narrative involves you actually being the consensus townread and leader. I'm not sure it looks that way to the wolves. (I don't care to argue whether or not it's actually true, only whether the wolves would believe it is true.) You may be a consensus townread, but I don't think the wolves have any reason to see you as directing the town from their PoV. Me and nanook are also widely townread and we're both doing our own things and solving the game in our own ways. If FG and LC are the wolves and you are town, why do they feel the most threatened by you specifically?
While writing that I did just remember that FG accused JJJ of controlling the game so maybe there is some truth to this theory. I am content with letting LC flip and I think the truth of the JJJ slot will come out not long after, one way or another.

Note that we need to remain in a state of high urgency at all times. Jack is a host from the HC Realms tree, and that means we cannot trust conventional assumptions about how alignments may be distributed. When I see 15 players, I tend to assume 12 vs. 3 is the most standard. With Jack though, I will not count out 11 vs. 4 or even 10 vs. 5 (with potential independent involvement too). It depends upon the arrangements of the roles he has decided to feature.
The point is that we cannot fart around in a Jack game. Play hard at all times or suffer the consequences.
did I miss this the first time?

Therefore I will not advocate a policy of not lynching a player D1 in general unless I have reason to believe they are not scum. If I think they are, I am lynching them no matter who they are.

I find it hard to believe that a civilian Long Con just blows the hell up like that without even asking me any questions or anything. Straight from 0 to murder rage. I am capable of quick turns on players, but that's not something I can recall feeling before.
i agree. i dont know lc but this feels performative, overdramatic and fake especially when your suspicion of him was hardly anything to begin with
maybe he’s like this as town, i have no idea, but i dont tr it
I would call Long Con a dramatic player.
I still don't remember another example quite like this apart from
Take Me Out to the Ballgame (Long Con was mafia, I was a civilian). You'll have to search my names (JJJ, Jay, etc) to find the stuff, but there's a lot of it in there.
his reaction doesnt seem as overblown there as here at first glance
meh, idk. i dont really care about any of this. gonna wait and see what else he does
Why don't you care about something you called "performative, overdramatic and fake" Hally?
because just because i find it that way doesnt mean it actually is. im not lc, i dont know him, idc
i dont have any confidence in reads i make off these sorts of things. i will wait and see

Obviously the only way to suspect JJJ is to be a wolf.

I'm hardly doing this alone, you're right about that. At least from LC's perspective I think there'd be a lot of reputation in the mix -- I'm known for being a player that takes on that mantle. I don't mean to take anything away from my teammates of course. I am very pleased with the way this game has gone so far, and that's a testament to [likely] numerous other civilians playing hard and playing to win.

my no yeet pile atm is
epi
jay
daisy
wisp
nanook
sabie?
tony?
alison could be there maybe but idk. i simply dont have any confidence in my ability to read her. she’s someone i think id probably only get to by getting her teammates first. thinking about it more and i dont think drawing a comparison to how she played last game will be that fruitful because her whole team was in a very bad spot early on, including herself. i have no idea what she’d be capable of as scum when she has less pressure but my guess is “a lot”
colin
sprityo
kitsu
fg
wigly
lc
these are the names left out. feels like a pretty basic sorting but eh, gotta start somewhere
your scum pile is lhf fwiw. syndicate's good at both projecting town and distancing from team members. don't buy in to the ~pOe~s thanks

Syndicate is really bad at clearing out the POE and it leads to a lot of otherwise unnecessary losses tbh
back to back.

JAgged's read on me doesnt feel like something he made up
Personally, he is not someone who I would argue is a good lynch day 1, and anything against him right now just feels a bit nitpicky

Epi's reaction is accurate.
I've only seen a few HC Realms games granted, but they had pretty crazy ratios. I remember colonialbob's Christmas game from 2016 was 9:4:1:1. That's not to suggest the balance was bad (town won) -- the mechanical nature of HC Realms games means different stuff works.
