Let me tell you a story, y'all.

One time we were, like, a full phase away from ly-lo in a game on RYM. Tensions high. We're all ready to kill each other. Bowels tense; no false moves here.

I'm town in that game. JaggedJimmyJay's in that game, doing his normal Supertown Jay thing. He's yeeting scum left and right, dabbing over their corpses—and this was before 'yeet' and dabbing even existed in our zeitgeist. It was beautiful and terrifying to behold, but we still hadn't found all the scum. The last one was out there somewhere. A real puzzler.

Sometime in the middle of the night, Jay fucking hits me with some garbage. He says, 'Strawhenge, hey, I'm a cop. I checked you. You're scum. What do you say to that?'

I lose my shit. I react in the way any townie would in that situation. I cry, 'Redirector!' like a cornered hound. I spew all kinds of explanations for why Jay would get a red check on me.

Then, two minutes after I post my reaction, he says, 'Straw, that was a test. I didn't check you. That was fake. I wanted to see how you'd react.' At the end of a town-victory game, it's revealed that Jay was also town, and not at all a cop.

The moral of the story is, Jay, the fake-claimer, didn't let that fake claim stand for a whole day and night phase. Because maybe that misinformation would affect the way people voted. Maybe it would affect how people used their night abilities. But he didn't, because if a reaction was all he was after, he got it. No need to hold onto it.

So, I ask y'all this: Why would a town-aligned Michelle make everyone think that she got a red peek on Alison for a whole day and night phase? We still had a vig; Nanook could've shot her. Assuming Odd is town, he could have used a busdrive on Alison when it would've been better suited elsewhere.

This whole thing, combined with the fact that a mafia team with a superkill ability hasn't obliterated a supposed town cop, makes me real fuckin nervous about Michelle.

Someone still has to sell me on why fingersplints is the best chop right now. JPIC's role claims and his reactions to pressure are more pressing to me than someone who just 'hasn't done anything towny'.
