Civilians (15)
Must defeat the Mafia, Alfothad and survive the game.
Image
The Dead Flag Blues "I open up my wallet and it's full of blood" [Secrets]

Image
East Hastings "If money could buy optimism, my love..." [Secrets]

Image
Providence "But d'you think the end of the world is coming? So says the preacher man but... I don't go by what he says" [Secrets]

Image
Sunshine + Gasoline (2) "That's right they're just walkin' around doin' nothin', even on their own" Do not share BTSC and do not know each other's identity, but can send each other a message via the Host during each Night. Can win as a team. Their assigned roles can be affected by Storm. [Secrets]

Image
Storm One-shot temporary disruption of BTSC among the Mafia (lasting a full subsequent cycle) and one-shot permanent role shuffle among the civilians credited with active or potential teamwork. Storm can choose a separate occasion to activate either of these powers.

Image
Static Can block a player during each Night.

Image
09-15-00 (2) Share BTSC. Can win as a team. Their assigned roles can be affected by Storm.

Image
Rockets Fall on Rocket Falls Once in the game, can drop a rocket that will block all actions throughout that phase.

Image
Motherfucker = Redeemer (2) Do not begin the game by sharing BTSC, but can search for each other during each Night (in addition to their individual ability). Can win as a team, if they gain BTSC. Randomly, one player will be assigned to role check a living player every odd Night. If the checked player is Mafia, it will have a 50% chance to also kill him. The other player will be assigned to role check a dead player every even Night. If the checked victim is Civilian, it will have a 50% chance to resurrect him. Both the kill and the resurrect will be activated automatically and work only once, regardless of the outcome. M=R can continue, however, to role check accordingly afterwards. Their assigned roles can be affected by Storm, once they gain BTSC.

If either checks ???, something will happen. If the role checker of the living checks Alfothad, something will happen to the checker.

Image
We Drift Like Worried Fire During any Night, can choose to drift a player away from the lynch poll during the subsequent Day. Three-shot.

Image
Piss Crowns Are Trebled Can choose, once in the game, to treble its vote’s worth during the subsequent Day phase, but upon doing so, a random civilian, mafioso or independent will also be empowered with the same amount during the same phase.

Image
??? Casketjack The person who reported on social media to be in possession of the ALFOTHAD cassette, still alive after vanishing from the site. He actually got angered at the unreasonable requests from social media fans about distributing, leaking or sharing the content of ALFOTHAD. As such, he also does not want any player to know of Alfothad's (the player) identity.

Casketjack is listed as civilian, but
begins as independent and knows Alfothad’s identity; Alfothad does not know the identity of Casketjack, but will search for him every night, in order to recruit him and gain BTSC. From that point, they can win as the last team standing. If Alfothad is lynched after recruitment occurs, Casketjack can replace him as the serial killer and keep their share win con active. Casketjack's vote for Alfothad in a lynch poll will be worth 0. If Alfothad unknowingly targets an unrecruited Casketjack with a nightkill, the action will fail, but only the first time it occurs.

If Alfothad never finds Casketjack and dies before doing so, Casketjack then reverts to a vanilla civilian. Casketjack's role description will be exposed if Motherfucker = Redeemer checks him, upon recruitment or if he is lynched or if Alfothad dies.

Mafia (3)
Share BTSC. Must eliminate the civilians and Alfothad.

Image
Moya Kills every night. If Sleep is lynched or night killed first, inherits the role block.

Image
Sleep "They don't sleep anymore on the beach..." Sends a player to sleep during each Night, blocking his actions that Night and preventing him from posting and voting during the subsequent Day phase. If Moya is lynched or night killed, Sleep is the first to inherit the kill, in order to send a player to sleep forever. If Sleep kills, he cannot use his regular power during the same Night. [Secrets]

Image
Mladic "With his arms outstretched" Ecstatic dance of the tyrant. [Secrets]

Serial Killer
Shhhhh.

Image
All Lights Fucked on the Hairy Amp Drooling - further referenced as ALFOTHAD (the cassette) or Alfothad (the player).

Highly rare and esoteric (and, if we are to trust the two-track leak as genuine, completely nonsensical) first release by the band, self-released but limited to only 33 copies. In 2013 a person reported on a social network to be in possession of this legendary cassette. That person vanished from the website shortly afterwards. Nothing is known about the existence of the other 32 owners. The band is not interested in revealing the cassette to its fans. As such, Alfothad will clearly not want any other player to know of its identity. Alfothad will be alerted and start killing when [Secrets]

Post-rock really doesn't get any better than Lift Yr Skinny Fists...

Except for Sigur Ros's ( ) and Talk Talk's Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock. ;)

Extra challenge: Make all of them titles of post-rock songs that are only GY!BE-themed titles. Can't cross over into other post-rock acts.

It'd be pretty difficult for him to do Sigur Ros anyway. :p

Or one would think. ;)

Not much man! Really enjoying the downtime. I have been spoiled by the last two weeks of only teaching and reading literature to try to generate dissertation topic ideas, lol. It's night and day from the last few months of my life where I was working unholy hours that no one should have to work. How about you?

Well, I've OT talked enough.

Although recently I've uncovered that POE naturally describes my recently developed playstyle because I much more easily find town reads than I do baddie reads, I've never formally used POE before.

I'll be using POE exclusively this game, and I'd like to approach it both as an individual (with my rainbow lists like I usually do) but as a group this time.

Who wants to join me? :mafia:

Can I just say how majorly awesome the rule list, the player list, the host posts, and pretty much all of the extra effort Rico has put into this game is?

Because it really is. Plus I have a new band to listen to in the dead of winter, which seems like the perfect climate for their music.

Unfortunately, I'll have to abstain. Plus doing POE in such a mysterious, secret-filled game seems a little counterintuitive.

Also, all win conditions are mortality dependent, so lynching people you haven't managed to subjectively clear is going to kinda screw them over, unlike in past games like Red V. Blue, where you could win dead or alive. Civilians who are targeted by the POE cannon have literally no incentive to let themselves get lynched. It could easily get all Oblique Strategies pretty fast.

But hey, with you trying to figure out who's good, and me trying to figure out who's bad, we'll have the role list sorted by Day 3.

That's a fair counterargument; I can dig it. To be fair, I do need to take a closer look at all of the detail of this setup, since 'unconventional' seems fitting, and I'm not sure how effective POE will be comparative to MU Champions-style setups where it's better suited.

Love the drop reference to Oblique Strategies too, where I followed your proposal to wreck the game blindly only for you to come so close to leading us all astray just so you could throw a wrench in your own plan to win at the last second.
