Puhuhuhuhu! Hello everyone and welcome to Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Mafia! (You can refer to it as DR Mafia for short.) This is one part setup and one part social experiment hosted by me and @Quin who will also be your Moderator for this game. Signups are now open and the finishing touches are being put in now, so feel free to signup.
As a backstory to this game's theme. There is a place known as Hope's Peak Academy where exceptionally talented students are scouted to attend. The school has such prestige that graduating from it means you're set for life. The game centers around Makoto Naegi and the 78th class who all go to attend their first day of school and all mysteriously black out, only to find themselves trapped inside the school with no way out. They're the only ones in the school, and there's a bear named Monokuma who claims to be the headmaster and gives them all a choice. To either stay inside the school for the rest of their lives, or murder another student and not be found out by the others to be able to leave. Of course no one wants to murder another person for no reason, so Monokuma has that covered by providing motives. A secret that no one should ever learn about, a mysterious message left about a family member, jealousy, etc.
Below are the roles, the game rules, and the what's to be expected out of the game and players.
Independent:
Monokuma - Headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy
Pick a role each night to “overcome with despair”. The role picked loses their win con and can only win if they kill another player and survive until the end of the game. Each Night You may submit a Text Post to the Host to be read upon day start. Knows ALL game Secrets and Roles. Has a Soup Kill. Cannot be Killed, cannot Vote once Lynched. Monokuma is not allowed to discuss any role or secret knowledge in thread. Monokuma is target-able by all actions unless stated otherwise. Monokuma can private message any player and any player can privately message Monokuma. *Secrets* (Your true identity is Junko Enoshima - Ultimate Despair.) If you die, or are lynched before Day 6 you reveal as Monokuma and do not die. All players that voted to lynched you have -1 vote power the next day to a max of zero power. You win the game once there is either only two other players in the game or you Lynch Makoto after Day 6 in the Ultimate Bargain. Night 1 you are forced to recruit Junko Enoshima (Mukuro Ikusaba). You can recruit up to 3 total mafia members.
-Can for-go recruitment to instead learn a who a player visited.
Ultimate Bargain: If Makoto Naegi is alive by day 6 he may issue a challenge to you to end the game. Everyone else must vote to either lynch Makoto or you. If you are lynched, the game ends and all players minus yourself and Mukuro win. If Makoto is lynched you and the living players win. Makoto will have no knowledge other than he can issue the challenge. It is your job to convince everyone to lynch him instead.

Setup Rules: -The Mafia Team DOES NOT have BTSC with each other unless it is achieved through different means.
-The Mafia Kill will rotate between all it's members in the order they were recruited.
-The most recent recruited player will know who else was recruited before them.
-Only Alignments are revealed when a player dies.
-The Town's Winning Condition is to Kill all of the Mafia AND survive.
-Again, Monokuma has a Soup Kill, meaning he can forgo his night action to immediately kill all player's that he can correctly guess a role for.
-When Monokuma fails to soup kill, it will be announced on who he failed to Soup.
-This game, much like the source material will be full of secrets, but nothing that will turn all the rules on it's head and be unfair.
-Recruited player WILL lose either their role power OR their Secret power unless otherwise stated in their role.
- If you die, you do not win. *secrets* IF MAKOTO WINS THE ULTIMATE BARGAIN, ALL TOWN PLAYERS WIN.
1. Massclaims (Large numbers of players revealing their roles at once) is highly unadvised. Such claims will likely not help. It more so reduces chances of win for your faction.
2. Flavorclaiming will not save you and is also discouraged because meta.
3. All Player to Host communication regarding questions about the game, actions, etc should be done through Private Messaging.
4. Don't copy/paste information given by a Host.
5. Keep game-sensitive details inside the game.
6. Do Not edit or delete posts.
7. Death will grant you one spoilered "bluh" post, which may not contain game-relevant information.
8. Refrain from ciphering or concealing posts. This includes writing in the same color as the background.
9. Please, this is a game. Take it easy, play to have fun, but play to win! We all want to have fun. Remember that.
10. Guarantees: This setup involves no cults, jesters, obliterators, BTSC spying, mod bastardry.
11. Additionally to rule 15, if you are ever feeling overly flustered, frustrated, upset, etc. It is recommended that you close the window and take a break. (Ex. take a shower. get some water. get some fresh air) It's no fun to anyone when tensions are high and people get generally upset and end up making the wrong choice.
As always i'll have a spectator chat WITH SPOILS and WITHOUT SPOILS for those who die and those who don't want to play.

Glad to have you all signing up for the game! I just wanted to ensure that you are all aware of the rules set here at Hope's Peak Academy. Everyone, including myself, Headmaster Monokuma, has to follow these rules. I've updated your Student Handbooks with the rules for your convenience.
Rule 1 Students may reside only within the school. Leaving campus is an unacceptable use of time.
Rule 2 "Nighttime" is from 10 pm to 7 am. Some areas are off-limits at night, so please exercise caution.
Rule 3 Sleeping anywhere other than the dormitory will be seen as sleeping in class and punished accordingly.
Rule 4 With minimal restrictions, you are free to explore Hope's Peak Academy at your discretion.
Rule 5 Violence against headmaster Monokuma is strictly prohibited, as is destruction of surveillance cameras.
Rule 6 Anyone who kills a fellow student and becomes "blackened" will graduate, unless they are discovered.
Rule 7 Additional school regulations may be added if necessary.
Rule 8 Headmaster Monokuma cannot vote, but the player who has his role can. It does not count towards the total votes.
Rule 9 If Monokuma is found he can no longer vote in the poll.
Rule 10 Headmaster Monokuma will not help or impede students in trying to graduate.
-------------------------------
The living area contains:
15 dorm rooms (One for each student),
A trash room and incinerator,
Restrooms (Male and Female),
A substantial storage room,
Laundry facilities,
A communal bath house,
Swimming pool and sauna,
A large dining room attached to a catering kitchen
*During the Killing School Life the living quarters acted as a hub area, with breakfast meetings taking place each morning in the dining area, and secret meetings taking place in the bathhouse which was the only part of the school building which was not monitored by surveillance cameras.*
The school area on the ground floor has:
Two classrooms (1A and 1B),
An A/V room,
The school store,
A nurse's office,
Restrooms (M/F),
A data center,
The entrance to the building (sealed with a large vault door)
The gymnasium
Second Floor
The Library and Archives
The swimming pool
Classrooms 2-A and 2-B
Leading to the Pool area are the boys and girls changing rooms.
Restrooms (M/F)
-------------------------------
In addition to the normal game, I've decided to expand on the current setup to fit more closely to the source material and the above rules. Students will have the ability to visit multiple areas during the day and night every 6 hours. You will be given a list of activity suggestions as well as you are free to ask about doing anything else while occupying an area in your free time. The areas will be explained to each player via PM and list who else is there. This addition more so for a fun, roleplay purpose and is not required by any means to understand the game more. More to come as we get closer to that date. Be sure to invite your friends!
Hey folks, I'll be your moderator on duty / facilitator. If you're feeling crummy, frustrated, or pissed at any point during the game, please PM me. I'll be happy to talk it over with you. Have fun dudes, dudets, and all the rest.

Honestly I should get mafia I've won almost every game I've played as a mafia member or been part of the winning team!
I get to be unlucky enough to rand mafia in the only two setups I've played that weren't completely funked up with useless overpowered independents that screwed over the entire game
There is some stuff that might make the game easier on the town but it's entirely on the mafia end of things so I'm not going to give them advice. If it happens, I'll say "I told you so" and we'll all have a good laugh.
