I am a big fan of musicals, so I would definitely play this.

Have you done a R&H mafia?

I haven't! I was planning an R&H Mafia! It hasn't made anything fruitful, so if you want to plan it, it's all yours! :) I have lots of theatre-based Mafia games in my head, though. :)

I'll stick to cinema and leave the musicals to you. But! I did want to tell you I was Ado Annie this one time in Oklahoma!

Will there be singing in this game? I was promised singing in Into the Woods, but the civs were so badass it was a short game.

:hugs:

Ado Annie is actually my favorite character in that musical. I love the music so much, but the plot bores me-- generally-- other than Ado Annie. :)

There may be singing, I didn't get a chance to really get anything like that going in Into The Woods due to an unbalanced game I created. :$ Too many role checkers! I tried to tone down the civvies, but I didn't realize how many role checks were out there.

It was still a fun game! I think it's a great backdrop for mafia games. Has anyone done an outright Wicked game? Or Sweeney? Oooh or Busby Berkely. I don't know how that would work.

Someone has done Wicked. :) It was done on The Piano by a user named PenguinJosh. It was fun. :)

I think another Wicked game would be fun. I won't be hosting it because I don't particularly love Wicked, but yeah. :p

Frank Wildhorn has written some very interesting stuff! Mostly junk, tbh. :p Jekyll and Hyde is decent. Scarlet Pimpernel is... eh. Bonnie and Clyde is one of his better ones, with a very weak second act. :p

Les Miserables is my favorite musical, not only for the fantastic music, but for these two reasons:

1. Characters have actual issues, instead of "Oh no, Bobby doesn't like me!" it's "I was fired from my shitty factory job, so now I have to be become a prostitute, sell my hair, teeth, and nails all to support my starving 4 year old who spends all of her time with the two sleaziest motherfuckers in the world. Also, I have AIDS."

2. Pretty much everyone dies. I appreciate a story that goes balls to the wall with it's character deaths. I'm a sadistic person.

I do love Les Miserables, but I think if you looked at more serious musicals, you'd find they aren't all about "Bobby doesn't love me". :p

I love Les Miserables, but you do realize there is a whole character whose main story is Bobby Marius doesn't like me. Unless you consider her other super original story of "my parents suck". Just saying :p

:omg: This was my first time seeing it, and not sure if you have seen it before, so let me know what you think! It was not what I expected entirely, but I did enjoy it!
I'd love to see spring awakening.

Also, forgot to say in my earlier post to inh. I believe Fantine had tuberculosis, not AIDS. If you would like a good HIV/AIDS musical, I would recommend Rent. :srsnod: :)

Fanzine DID have TB and not AIDS because AIDS wasn't really a thing in 1832. :p

Also-- Joseph is a poorly written show that can be such a fun experience/performance. It was really cute. Not my kind of show, but cute.

Schwartz wrote it and he is a role! I could make a whole game just on the characters from his shows. Hell-- someone could make a Godspell game!
Personally, I'm working on two more games based on musicals (Spring Awakening and Merrily We Roll Along-- both would be speed games). But I could see another for the next cue.

My dad drove me to the next town over when I was too young to drive to see a girl I had a crush on in Godspell. I liked hearing her sing and the overall performance was one of my favorite theatrical experiences growing up.

We were boyfriend / girlfriend some time after that and she broke up with me on my birthday.

That's quite rude...
...But I think it worked out in the end. :p

Splints, well... considering my... well.. disdain for Sir Weber... :p
