So I have been doing the speed game banners and started doing some signatures. I am learning the ropes with my photoshop touch program and I am eager to get some more practice in. As such I decided (after consulting with MP) to start this thread where people could put in requests for signatures. I cannot promise how quickly something may get done, since it is all subject to my schedule at the time, but I would certainly love the creative project!

Additionally, we thought this would be a good space for people to request smilies. Let me be clear what we mean by that though. The admin and mods all have busy lives too and as much as we want to be able to research every request, we probably don't have time for that. So what we need from oI when you request a smiley, is for you to mind a smiley you like and post it here. It may require having the link so MP can retrieve it. I don't know all the ins and outs of that side of it. Keep in mind that there are only two people that can add smilies, I believe. One is MP, who is very busy finishing his masters and getting his CPA, and the other is LT, who admins her own site. They are both very busy! So again, I can't promise when it will be done, of if we will feel it is appropriate for our site and usable on a dark background. However, the best way the smiley selection can be improved is if we all chip in and find some good ones!

I propose that we remove all smilies and go back to doing it with text the way we did in the good old days. ;^)

Just to clarify, I am actually the only one who can add or delete emoticons because it requires access to my Bluehost cPanel. Even if that wasn't the case, I would and do take full responsibility for that function, so I will handle all of the emoticon duties. LT is surely plenty busy with her own site and I very much appreciate everything she has done above and beyond in helping to start up and maintain this site.

This is a fantastic thread idea because I know I've gotten requests during games for particular smileys or particular categories of smileys, and I try to get around to adding them or searching for more, but IRL occupations plus other non-emoticon related website administration activities never allow for enough extra time and they get unintentionally delayed. So please, if any of you have an emoticon you really want, post it here. I promise I'll try to evaluate each and every one of them and add the ones selected on a timely basis as much as possible. Again, just because you post 1 or 100 emoticons here doesn't mean I will necessarily add them, but I will do my best to placate and add awesome emoticons to the bunch we already have.

Additionally, Daisy has already picked up banner and signature making pretty well (see her and my new signatures as well as the speed game banners thus far as evidence) and I know she's been enjoying it, so feel free to give her more to do!

I love the new siggs - but it begs the question - did she actually use a picture of YOU to get eaten by a sock?

Roxy already has her signature, but so other people can see what I've already done, here is the one I made for her.

So I added just a few smileys, including the ever-needed , the noble (of course) , this one because why not as it fits some circumstances perfectly , and then thellama gets his own smiley now as well . There were a few others I tried but they looked terrible on the black background. Keep those suggestions coming! And if I haven't gotten to yours yet and you think there is no reason for me not to (it could be I overlooked it, I'll admit that), feel free to pester me!

I don't know how to make them appear over here from RM but the one I really needed to use the other day was the one where the smiley runs around in circles with its mouth in an "o" - signifies "oh no!" or "I'm all stressed".

It has become increasingly clear to me that The Syndicate needs a smiley makeover. We need more more more!

My idea is that people can post in this thread which emoticons they'd like to see added, and maybe if the mods agree they can add some of them for us!

Yes, thank you for this, TH. My problem is that I'm usually multitasking when I'm on the site, and when people suggest smileys in games, I think of it, but then it slips my mind, and I haven't found a good method of consolidating the smiley requests.

Spacedaisy started up a thread just like this a while back. But when I think about it, I should have moved that thread to the Lounge. Perhaps I can consolidate the two threads.

This will make it much easier for me to go in and add a bunch of emoticons at once.
