I don't like 48 hour days, BUT if my players would prefer them, I will alter that to 48.
Let me know what you want folks. I'll give it to you.

Small games with 48 hour lynches are my bread and butter. I'm in if that's the case, if it's 24 I'm still on the fence

What is a closed set up game?
Am I right in thinking that side mission games are the same as normal mafia games, but smaller?

It means I don't have role abilities listed. You won't know what each role does.
And you are correct. Side mission (or "Speed" games) are 19 or fewer players.

Will it begin after the crossover game or it will run concurrently? I may be up for it if it starts after the RYM game I can't juggle two balls with one hand.

We Syndicaters are used to burning ourselves out by playing 5 games at once.

5 games or die.
But seriously, I signed up for LC's game, and if this is going to be 48 hours as well, then I think I can handle both. I'm in!

What's the difference between a closed set up and the way we usually play? Other than not knowing the roles powers?

That is the main difference.
Usually in a closed setup, the roles of nightkileld players are revealed, and players' powers are revealed upon death.
I don't know if that is the case here.

First, it's an Epi game.
Second, it's a smaller game.

I was going to take a long break after Talking Heads, but then I saw the words "Dune," "Side Mission," and "48 hour days." In of course!
Long ago my Dad made me watch this movie once. I voluntarily watched it another 6, or so, times.

While this game's setup is indeed closed per Epi's explanation above, typically closed setups don't even have a role listing whatsoever. In that case, players can engage in roleplaying (depending on if the theme allows for it). Since role names are listed here, I can't imagine that roleplaying or role claiming would be permitted, but Epi would know better than I.
