Yeah we had to kill you and Mac because there was no way we were lasting very long around you two. Mac’s day 1 case against me was spot on, minus the part where he said I should have defended sig while I was absent from the thread. :meany:
Yeah and your response to it was classic baddie - 'noone is giving me anything to aim at except Mac' as though agreeing with Mac's case isn't exactly what we should be doing! That's out of my playbook.

Everything about nova’s behavior around Colin is bad EXCEPT for colin’s vote on D1. If it weren’t for that, I’d keep pushing for nova’s lynch.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Night 4]

Sloonei wrote: Thu May 03, 2018 8:04 pmThis is the most engaged I've seen nova in my (admittedly limited) experience with him. The piece of evidence which has been central to the discussion around him has been Colin's Day 1 vote for luna (RIP) when nova/sig/epi were on the block. colonialbob and Golden had a lengthy conversation about the two sides of this, with cbob arguing that if Colin wanted to save one of those three, he would have voted on a wagon. Golden argued that Colin's fear was over being caught saving a teammate. I lean toward cbob's side.

This is literally the basis on which Colin was caught; having said that, he disagreed strenuously with my logic. I could see it going either way.

What I would say is not 'this makes nova bad', but rather that the needle moves, because Colin's choice on day one was indiciative of certain patters. This is known baddie behaviour. I've been in that position myself (in day one of Guess Who mafia) and it's extraordinarily uncomfortable when you are faced with that situation and a teammate on the line. On the other hand, with no teammate on the line, the choice is much more odd - there's no reason not to find a legitimate reason to be on a wagon.

Given Luna's flip (and over the last day I felt more like she was town, it just felt like a better choice than daisy), if Colin got caught for his behaviour and nova was also town, colin's slip had no meaning. We just got lucky.

What are you on about? How does it reduce accountability? If anything it increases it.

No-one should abdicate responsbility for their vote just to create a tie, if that's what you mean. I'm not advocating the artificial creation of a tie. I'm just explaining why it is not 'the worst idea'. Tie avoidance is fundamentally anti-town, because it means people aren't voting who they want to. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that deliberately avoiding ties means you can't hold people accountable.

You would rather force a tie? That's the worst idea I've heard of.
There's nothing particularly wrong with a tie. If someone who is civ has 6 votes and someone who is bad has 5 votes, the civ will be lynched. If both have 6, there's a 50% chance that the baddie is lynched.
That also works the other way around.
Sure, but generally speaking you're voting for the person you think is bad to create the tie, rather than the person you think is civ. So there's nothing unciv about about creating a tie, and there's also nothing statistically negative about it (it's balanced).

It’s the value of a tie. Baddies don’t want to break them, especially if their own baddie teammates are amongst it. I caught Colin because he wanted vote amongst those three. The most likely reason is that he had a teammate among them. Baddies are hesitant to make a late vote to save their teammate. Town aren’t because they don’t know who is bad.
Because you said you were suspicious of nova because Colin saved her, then said the idea was NOT to save her. Look at the highlighted portion of my last post in contrast to your statement (top vs bottom of the pyramid).
It’s all shades of the same colour. Olive is still green. Nova was one vote behind, if Colin voted that way it could have shifted the lynch.

Colin did the same to me, but I'm not scum. So I don't know if I buy it. I think he was trying to pin suspicion on easy-lynch townies
He voted for you, he didn't save you from being lynched, so there's a difference between your situation and nova's.
Wait did Colin vote for Nova at some point? Or are you saying he voted for Luna instead of voting for the actual wagons, one of whom was nova?
The latter.
Doesn't saving typically involve actions that help your teammate not get lynched? If he was saving nova, why not vote one of the other popular trains?

(Keeping in mind I wasn't in the game until D2 so I might be missing some understanding of how the lynch went down)
Traceability. Baddies worry about being caught saving a teammate in such situations.
But he didn't save anybody is my point. His vote on Luna did literally nothing to help stop nova from being lynched.
If he'd actually saved nova it would be traceable. The idea was to NOT save nova, because then they'd be linked. But he also didn't want to destabilize a precarious situation.

It's a theory but it's common behaviour. It's why I switched from Epignosis to sig at the end of day.

Another -1 for nova

Let’s all vote nova

Sloonei wrote: Thu May 03, 2018 11:33 am Golden, how would you rank these bandwagons in order of preference?
List the bandwagons you'd like me to rank.
The people with votes on the poll, minus wolbre
Nova
Choutas
Luna
Daisy
Scotty

From most to least likely to be bad.

The first four are all people I could see being bad. I don't see scotty as bad right now.
What's the most condemning point against nova?
I haven't caught up with nova's posts today, but basically Colin is.

Did she make a similar post there where she talked about how she shouldn't stop anyone voting for her, that she wouldn't catch up, and that she basically didn't care how that looked?
