Some hosts may be inclined to lift the caps in that way. I wanted to avoid unfairness by time zone, and I know some players have complained in faster games that "the whole day is pointless until everything happens at the end" or some such.

I went low on the restriction deliberately -- 25 is very tight. I wanted the type to open with a truly slow game to see what it could be like. In the end we have as many posts as most heists, somewhat to my surprise. I suspect future Rackets will usually offer more than 25 posts, Jiggies or not.

Alrighty, gang. We've had more than enough public airing of grievances in this game thread. I understand that frustrations have flared, in some cases offense has been taken, and that there have been moments of tensity. It's to be expected sometimes in the Mafia gameplay environment. Nonetheless, I don't want to see it anymore in this thread. No more dialogue about people being bullies, and no being bullies either. No more talk about jerks, assholes, or any such personal things going beyond the realm of "civilian" or "mafia". juliets is always here to hear you out and she will dedicate herself to that as much as she can; I am sure nobody here will ever doubt that. The host is weary of seeing it. This game is limited by post count, and I think we can find ways to play competitive Mafia and be friendly in 25-40 posts per phase. Thanks for your efforts, and if you have concerns you know where to go. You may also PM me if you like; I am happy to discuss anything privately.

Reiterating for clarity:
Give me at least five 4-line rhymes in the style of Gruntilda (example below) in one day phase, and I will grant you a Jiggy. Easy as that. You can either notify me privately once you have five, or you can just number them publicly (if you want to do that, you don't have to).

4-liners don't count toward Jiggies during night phases.

Clarification:

Post count limitations are per phase, and everyone started at 25 posts as the limit. Nobody was allowed to exceed 25 posts on Day 0. Now, on Day 1, nobody may make more than 25 posts this phase. This means that your total post count for the game may not exceed your Day 0 post count plus 25 (indicated above). I will be updating this every phase to reflect the maximum total post count each player may legally reach.

Within any single phase, your limit will always be a multiple of 5. It's 25 + 5*(# of activated Jiggies).

It is legal to reveal your character, your role, and any information you derive from your role.

It is illegal to reveal the unique objectives in your role cards pertaining to earning Jiggies.

POST COUNT LIMITATION

As of the start of the game, all players may make no more than 25 posts during an active phase. This number may increase on an individual basis upon the acquisition of the much coveted Jiggies (an increase of 5 posts per phase per Jiggy). This limitation will not be lifted just prior to the end of a day phase. The purpose of this limitation is to allow everyone to keep up, and hurricanes at the ends get in the way of that. Adapt if you must.

What's a Jiggy?

“Hey...It's me, Mr. Jiggy! Now go and find a picture with a piece missing.”

Per the above quote, it would appear Jiggies are male. That is not relevant to this game, but now you know.

You may earn Jiggies throughout the game by at least two means:

1.) Wordplay

2.) Unique objectives within your role cards

Wordplay

Give me at least five 4-line rhymes in the style of Gruntilda (example below) in one day phase, and I will grant you a Jiggy. Easy as that. You can either notify me privately once you have five, or you can just number them publicly (if you want to do that, you don't have to).

Many tricks are up my sleeve,
to save yourself you'd better leave!
--> 2 lines; I want 4 lines

You are not required to pursue Jiggies if you don't want to. The only prize is expanded post count allowance. All such bonuses are applied to phases after they are earned. Bonuses are permanent, and they stack.

I will make a public post at the start of each phase that indicates the maximum number of posts each living player can finish that day with. This means Jiggy earnings will be effectively public.

GENERAL RULES/NOTES

~ Role claiming and infodumping are legal.

~ All members of the winning faction will be declared winners, dead or alive.


1. The most important rule is to always remember that we are playing a game together on an Internet forum. Be kind and considerate as you are also being competitive, and be mindful of how your words might be received by others beyond the scope of a Mafia game.

2. Do not engage in behind the scenes chat (BTSC) with other player(s) unless your role gives you the explicit right to do so.

3. You may not edit or delete any posts in the game thread.

4. You may target yourself with night actions unless otherwise stated.

5. You may target the same player on consecutive nights unless otherwise stated.

6. [mention]juliets[/mention] is your Facilitator for this game. She's the best. If you're getting irritated, frustrated, or pissed off, then I encourage you to send her a private message. She'll talk through it with you. She'll keep an eye on the game as play proceeds as well.

7. If you're dead, then please do not post anything remotely on-topic in the game thread. If you want to make an off-hand and off-topic comment, use this dead-read color. Please do not abuse this privilege by posting frequently. You're dead.

8. The same goes for non-players, who should use this non-player-blue color. Keep it off-topic.

9. Votes can be changed at will.

10. Day phases will last approximately 48 hours and night phases will last approximately 24 hours. I will adhere to this as strictly as possible, but if life forces me to make adjustments then I will do so.

11. All roles will be revealed to the degree I deem appropriate when players are either lynched or killed.

12. I will use this font. You can use it too if you want. Just don't impersonate the host.
