It’s probably more combative than it needs to be. Sorry. I just don’t appreciate the narrative forming around this lynch and I think others may feel the same. I am partially annoyed by it in the component of people suspecting me for some reason from all this, but such is Mafia.

Because I wasn’t really around. I was at the gym. I didn’t know Blooper’s train would have failed, or that INH’s was better. I didn’t even know for sure Scotty was town and I have healthy skepticism for those that claim to have been wiser.

These self-congratulations and invectives launched at all others who did not have the infinite wisdom you apparently possess are not helpful. They are masturbatory, alienating, condescending, betray a good sense of sportsmanship and I’m not convinced they aren’t an obvious avenue for posturing for scum*. In a word, they suck. We can talk about the Scotty lynch all that is necessary in the pursuit of the next Long Con teammate, but we can do without the annoying “Oh my god, you morons, why didn’t you see this obvious conclusion?” stuff. It contributes NOTHING. It’s a team game and the biggest team doesn’t know who its captains are. This happens. Quit acting like Rico came into the thread and said “Scotty is Courage, don’t lynch him!” and half the town did it anyway.

*nutella looks more guilty of this than speed, for the record. “I cannot believe you guys let that happen” — give me a break.

I defended Scotty more than anybody in the thread. I categorically denied the possibility of him being scum. If anybody has a right to come in here and wave the banner of “told ya so,” it should be me.

But that would not be constructive and this is not a constructive dialogue. Scumhunting is constructive. Do that instead of trying to earn righteousness-points.

Marmot looks kinda bad too in these most recent posts. Mostly a gut thing

I didn't assume Scotty was Courage. I assumed ONE of Scotty and Niju was courage, since he started freaking out when they were both tied
If I knew Scotty specifically was Courage, I could have saved him with a single vote on Niju. But I didn't know that, so I started a third train on someone.

I've got people suspecting me for not trying hard enough. Not only did I get brotrayed by Fractal, and not only did everyone ignore my specific pleas to start a train (Yes, you can be involved on a train if I don't tag you), and not only did we lynch what is presumably one of the most important townies in the game...

Now I have people blaming ME. Some of which claim I'm bad because of it.

I'm pissed. (Not in a way that needs mod intervention, but like a loaded gun/motivation/lynchy pissed)

I asked the initial question because I didn’t recall you making the effort you claimed to have made (or to have earned this sense of indignation, to put it another way). On further reflection of your posts I can see where you nudged us, but I think you could have gone a little further. Oh well. It happened.

I don’t see a movement for your head, I don’t see a serious accusation against you. If there is one, I missed it. And I don’t even see confirmation that Scotty is the real Courage considering the 2 parent roles. Could go either way.

I think we have a lot of material to work with. Fractal definitely looks worse in my book and the complaints TH has made against him I find agreeable. If Scotty is Courage we can make attempts at systematic role guesses for some other people. I’m not that concerned.

And I picked up on the Kyle thing the first time it happened, by the way, I just didn’t know exactly how to say it.

Nothing Blooper said about me is an accurate portrayal of what happened, but sure, go ahead.

For the record I totally endorse the idea of an INH lynch, I just think your efforts to get us to vote off of Scotty, in the moment, looked less knowing/serious than you’re portraying them. And that’s not blame/frame/suspicion, it’s a question. But I wasn’t paying super close attention anyway and don’t feel the need to argue this.

I don't think Scotty's vote for Vomp clears him at all, even if you are town. Two reasons Scotty might have gone along with it as scum:

1. Vomp's lynch provides less information and just as much dead townie. Note how we still aren't sure what to do with you, or how to react to that lynch. If we lynch you now, to understand what happened, then Scotty just helped waste a day.

2. YOLO

I did mean the opposite.

I think I would be a better lynch candidate earlier for scum than Vompatti on the grounds that I may do more damage with a more conventional playstyle. They’d be in no rush to get rid of Vompatti who could be a question mark for many all game.

I have apprehensions toward Scotty but his ISO looked clean and, as scum, he has NO reason not to take the lynch of me when he’s handed it vs. Vompatti. No reason. If he is scum then it was a snap diabolical decision, but I don’t think it was.

I feel less good about Blooper than I do Scotty, I think my feelings on nutella are pretty clear so I think that’s possibly a false note from her. That’s where my vote goes.

I have thoughts.

First and foremost - upon review, the Vompatti wagon looks fine to me. Speed and Fractal I am both reading as town, and Colin would obviously save himself. Scotty is the only one who comes out of it looking particularly bad.

Second of all, I haven't yet read Colin's isos in depth but I intend to - primarily because I believe this is how I will come to a firm view on whether or not he is good or bad. Why I voted for him yesterday was not nutella's case, but Colin's response to nutella's case (it didn't deserve the dismissal and Colin's approach was essentially a 'no u').

I am of the view that Colin will be a hard worker when bad, although in Ancient Greece he never got there, but I think that was more a case of circumstance and feeling his way out on the site. So, the mere fact of Colin doing the work doesn't move me, it depends on the content.

I do, however, want to highlight that quiet marmot is bad marmot. I really don't like how quiet marmot has been. Dune and this years GoC spring to mind as examples, but I feel like there are others. I don't recall an example of town Marmot being this quiet. Does anyone have any counterexamples?

I agree that my quietude in AG was not indicative of what I’d try to do as a baddie. Dom quieted me that phase and I was more or less unable to respond to anything.

His playstyle is identical to U-Pick. My unsubstantiated belief was that he was a little less engaged with the overall direction of the thread from what I remember in u-Pick, but I don't find that to be the case and I think I'm conflating his performance right now with his performance there in endgame, two very different things. I do think his vote for me is a little lazy, but I don't know if it's uncharacteristic.
