Also, I was not expecting to win here. Generally, on other sites, a mafia member has to be alive to claim victory, but I'll take it.

And I guess I was debating if it was scummy frustration or townie frustration, but I wasn't sure what the setup was if there was another team out there or an indie. So overall, I don't think I mentioned it.

Nicely done [mention]Spacedaisy[/mention], I'm a little happy with myself for voting for you when I was alive. During the game, I was suspicious of your frustrated post at one point as it seemed rather scummy, but I didn't have enough mojo to really push at it more when enough townies had already made up their mind.

Let's analysis this post for a moment. (thanks dunya for clarifying the tied vote thing) She's saying she'd be fine with lynching Jay or Mac or Mongoose. But she feels like Mongoose is more scummy than the two.Spacedaisy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 7:58 pm I spent all afternoon writing. So... That's actually not too bad. But the writing bit pings me. idk why...hmm

Bad. I get the stress of everything else going on, but everyone has that feeling too. It's not just you. You can be hella fed up with the game, but you also don't have to give everyone else permission to bother you. It would almost be better if you could not dwell on what others say or think about you.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 7:39 pmA mafioso shouldn't give up either. What does this mean to you? Re: Gossip Girl Mafia [Day 2]
Then again, I don't know if Mac's preference is male or female, but there are two really really main girls in the show if memory serves - looking at the pictures online - it looks like I'm forgetting one. One of them, my daughter, I really liked watching her character, and then there was this other main who kind of rubbed me the wrong way.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 7:26 pmHe said he's a bodyguard. Re: Gossip Girl Mafia [Day 2]
It's not really about how things have changed. If I had harped on all the differences, I've experienced over the years we could be here awhile. A lot of it is about doing what works for you. I'm an advocate of doing what you can do consistently, but I don't think that's a style for everyone. Night thread and secret voting are the main difference for me. But at the end of the day, a lot of it is about rolling with the punches as they come.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 4:11 pmIt makes sense. I think the three you named, Spacedaisy, indiglo, and Owner of a Lonely Heart, ought to say something in response.Matahari wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 4:07 pm I’m very out of my depth here, everything has changed so much. Little things like bandwagoning, for instance. That used to get people in so much trouble, and now it seems to be the preferred method. Role playing- that’s new for me too. Not having watched the show, I don’t always catch when people are role playing. So I’m having to go with old school methods. Gut.
I’m really not sure about Rey at all, old school Rey participated more as a civ. But reading back on him, he is not really participating so much as just posting. I’d like to hear from others what they think about him, to get a better perspective.
The three who make me a little uneasy, it’s because I felt like they were avoiding real commitment to scum hunting. Their day one vote posts were evasive and seemed like they had a hard time placing a vote on someone they knew was a civ. As in, being mafia, you have to be careful not to look like you were going hard for someone who will be revealed as a civ. That may not make sense, sorry. That’s just a gut thing.
For example the votes on me, It's not about you should read me like x, y and z; it's more about what have I done and what is other people's perception of me.
Going into this, I kind of knew "hey, they might not be able to read me, but that's okay." This has been a nice break, and I feel better about Syndicate as a whole in comparison to the last game I played on here, so you got that going for you.

Also, are the votes actually in order has this site's polling mixed it up?
I have the votes at Mac then Jay then indigo then daisy was that the correct order or did it get mixed up?
What does this mean to you?
At one point, I thought you were voting for me, but then the next moment it looked like your vote was on Mongoose, so count me confused.
Depending on how early indigo and Mac placed their votes on Mongoose, we can maybe read into that as actual suspicion of Mongoose's behavior rather than an opportunistic push, but there was also talk about wagons being townie ones, so there are also opportunities for scum to off vote, which would potentially support my suspicion on Matahari. But it's also getting late...as in if I stay up I won't be getting 7 hours of sleeps.
I think there were like 3 pages I hadn’t read when I posted that. Literally cooking dinner and went to vote with like six minutes to go or something.
Here was my thinking, I can cast a vote off that has no meaning or I can cast a vote where it can count. Mongoose was already winning the lynch y’all. I didn’t want to tie it up because I didn’t feel like Jay was bad. When considering either Mac or Mongoose. I had felt like I thought Mac seemed loosey goosey and like normal Mac, but I wouldn’t say I feel confident ilenogh to discount him. Whereas there was conversation already about Mongoose and I thought she seemed stiffer than Mac did. Less natural.
This my vote for Mongoose, who was already about to get lynched. Why would I do this if I was bad? The only reason would be if both Mac and Jay were bad. They both had one less vote than Mongoose, iirc. So please consider this logical, unless you suspect I am on a team with Mac and Jay, this move would not make sense as a baddie.
Because I am not mafia y’all. I’m just a dumbass who didn’t manage my time better.

I'm suspicious of them for different things. It's kind of related. But I'm not sure if I should be trying to piece this all together when I haven't given the proper time to reread it all. It's hard to say. With work ending as late as it did, I just launched into the thread without rereading. I would definitely need to reread their interactions to have a stronger opinion on this.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 1:27 amI have no idea how well nutella usually reads Luna. Does Nutella generally read Luna well? Or would she defend a partner like that...hmm that might be a stretch or would be unwise. It could be a pocket for credit maybe.
I guess it really depends if nutella was really buddy buddy with her from the start. If that was the case, then it would make sense for her to defend really hard as that will continue to build said pocket, but if there wasn't that much buddy buddy interaction, then it would be harder to tell if something like that is going on. Or maybe this 2nd thought would make the this idea non-existent? hmm
I wish I had more time to try to solve this. *sighs*

Re: Gossip Girl Mafia [Day 2]
First, there's a problem here, because 4 is too big here number wise. But you don't always get the numbers right especially on your first go, but with help, I would assume that they can't all be connected.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 1:43 amYou've linked these four together across various dynamics. Please describe why they'd make sensible teammates in the combinations you have suggested.Owner of a Lonely Heart wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 1:39 am7. nutella - mainly just a bit irked at how quick she was to defend Luna as if she was absolutely certain of her alignment
8. Lunalee - could be town because of nutella/mac or could be teamed
10. Matahari - null or could be with nutella/Luna
12. MacDougall could be with nutella/Luna
So that supports it not being those 4. Matahari and Mac were the other noticeable ones in my mind who engaged with me when I placed my vote.
The thread was kind of stale, and then my vote caused more of a chain reaction of posts and defenses.
You wouldn't necessarily want to do a similar action to what your partners were doing, unless one was under a lot of pressure.
Matahari deciding to avoid the main wagon stood out to me. Maybe cause the vote was on me, but also, it felt as if he wasn't trying to pick a side or get noticed.
I feel like if I don't pay attention to Matahari I'll lose track of them. Their presence didn't seem very strong until that moment. It also felt as if they were kind they might just be sheeping others, but maybe I'm just tired and thinking of counting some sheepies.

I'm not saying there's an unvote in the poll. I'm describing what I would expect to be done, as for whether or not that will actually happen is very uncertain as I'm more of an outsider here.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 1:30 amThere is no "unvote" in the poll. The picture you're painting here is hard to buy. Is it cause that's where the vote was for a portion of the day or just something else?
Also, why did people think I was scum with Mongoose? (I think Mac said it? idk) Yeah, I voted luna over Mongoose, but I liked a lot of what Mongoose said.

Re: Gossip Girl Mafia [Day 2]
I wish more people were around right now.
I have like now to talk - then to sleep - then to work and then maybe to end of day.
I guess I want to look at nutella and Lunalee or maybe the Mongoose vote. Multiple people were quick to defend Luna. She did eventually move her vote, but was everyone else reading her off meta or what?

I was half serious/half joking. I don't expect that to be noticeable; I generally leave it up to interpretation.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 10:16 pmI honestly don't understand the scale you designed there; I thought you were making a joke. I probably have more in common with M Plus 7 as a player than I do with Dizzy, if that's your meaning.Owner of a Lonely Heart wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 10:15 pmYou technically didn't answer the last one. M Plus 7 and I have similar personalities, and Dizzy and I have a history. If you are the scale, what does that make them?
Do your thing and I'll be the judge.

So nutella, do you feel Jay is giving an accurate description of you? Do you generally play differently?JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 10:14 pmnutella doesn't think anything about anyone most of the time. Any read she states is liable to change in a millisecond.Owner of a Lonely Heart wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 10:11 pmI guess I'm skeptical to think that they think you are good most of the time or am I wrong?JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 8:15 pm Lunalee and nutella are civilians for being silly enough to think I'm bad.
I think their suspicion of me looks authentic in this game. This is the only game I'm concerned with when I make this read. Luna particularly moved her vote to me and endangered herself in the process. That's suggestive of a genuine suspicion. nutella isn't a slam dunk, but I like the cut of her jib as they say. I understand why she suspected me and kind of expected it frankly.
Hmm, It looks like I missed when Luna moved her vote.

Now that I've answered your questions, Owner, could you please tell me how you hope to progress your effort to solve the game (both with these questions and in general)?
If I were to tell you that would get rid of the mystery, why would you want that?
I generally hope to solve the game using my own methods. I've been modding more recently, not as much playing, but I don't think hinders me.

I don't think you are stupid. I don't know if what you are saying is brilliance or edging towards madness.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 9:42 pm Okay so this is my only game now. I POE'd down to four, so somebody tell me why I'm stupid or why I'm brilliant. Argue with me. Argue with each other. Fight and bicker. Let's go.
1. What is there to argue?
-We had different opinions. Does that lead itself to create an argument? Maybe?
2. Why these 4 specifically? What has each other player done to earn your trust?
3. Are you generally wrong in your reads? Or is that something you tend to strive to get better at?
4. Who should argue with each other and why?
5. Bonus Question: On a scale of Dizzy to M Plus 7, how would you rate yourself?

Re: Gossip Girl Mafia [Day 1]
I had work and then had to take my car to get fixed. For some reason, I thought tied votes ended with a no lynch, but I'm not seeing that now. And I can't seem to find where the sign up thread has gone to. I guess the rule about having to vote makes it feel like a pounce.Matahari wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 8:36 pmIt was your timing, more than anything else. It also felt like a pounce, that came out of nowhere. But I could be mistaken, wouldn’t be the first time.Owner of a Lonely Heart wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 7:59 pmHow is it opportunistic when my one vote rallied a bunch of people to take action? I like Mongoose so far. But self presing when you aren't entirely suspicious of the other person is pretty questionable imo.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 7:43 pm [VOTE: Owner] aubergine because her explanation for voting Luna seemed quite exaggerated.

Re: Gossip Girl Mafia [Day 0]
If you are not set on the lynch, you should change it. Keeping the vote where it is is not helping the odds of getting a more favorable lynch. Sorry, dinner got called right after I posted.MacDougall wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 7:15 pmNooo that is such a townie post how can you not see that. So you are saying you're not set on voting for Mongoose, but you are still leaving your vote there?!?!? [VOTE: Lunalee] aubergine
Coming from that, I guess I'm just speechless.
It's not necessarily townie to self-pres vote, especially if you are half-heartly not wanting to lynch them in the mean time.

Re: Gossip Girl Mafia [Day 0]
One of my friends does theme birthday parties. I've been to a Disney themed birthday party; I went as Anna from Frozen. There was also a Spy themed party. The pasta parties before a Track or XC meet were pretty epic in high school. It's hard to decide just one.

I'm not sure if it would be better for me to just make one big post, or if these little responses are fine. I guess on some sites I've gotten complaints when I've done bigger posts, so I guess it kind of depends on how many phone users we have on this site.
